In our next edition, we will be interviewing Carolina Kraken starlet defender Adam Friedland. Carolina currently tied 1-1 in their playoff-series against Vancouver Whalers, and im happy to have him amidst these times
Lilja: Now that we have our semi-finalists ready, who do you think will overcome the other team in both matchups and why? Friedland: I think that we (the Carolina kraken) will succeed and ultimately win this series. We may be an underdog but we are a very motivated crew and I need to put my trust in the fellas around me.... this is my last year with the kraken so we need to dig deep and really push hard to win. Lilja: We are pretty deep in the playoffs now, with 8 match-ups already behind us. Which result was the most surprising? Friedland: Something that surprised me in the SHL playoffs was the Inferno winning a round. In the SMJHL, seeing the Knights beating the outlaws was very surprising. Sure they got swept but that team has a good future. Lilja: Vancouver Whalers seem to have taken their efforts from regular season into playoff season. Do you think they can keep going like this? Friedland: The Whalers will lose momentum. I am sure of it. In fact, the Carolina kraken will be the source of their demise. Sorry Vancouver. The winner of the Vancouver/Carolina series will win the 4 star cup. I guarantee that. Lilja: Who do you think is going to win the cup? Friedland: In the SHL? The Hamilton steelhawks. They’ve developed a team that looks unbeatable. Though, the Inferno totally exposed their weaknesses, I think they’ll pull through. In the smjhl? US. THE CAROLINA KRAKEN. The armada and berserkers have 0 chance... Vancouver maybe. Lilja: Which player has had the most impact in their team so far - and which one has had the least impact? Friedland: The most impact; definitely me. I’ve fought 5 times to spark this team. Momentum swings can go a long way. Blunt man is another man on a mission. His goaltending has been superb. Our whole team is making an impact though, seeing as we’re a few wins away from the finals. Words: 364, split 50-50 between @retuperkeleand @Bongo ![]() ![]() |
