S57 Championship Week

Task 1:

This season was a up and down season for Bjorn. After getting quite close to being IA towards the end of his 1st season he was pulled from the depths as he was drafted to the Atlanta Inferno and was trusted by their GM to make them picking him worth it. Before the season started he was also traded from Anchorage to Detroit. After a pretty poor 1st season he welcomed the change of scenery.

He took the chance and had a really fine season. Playing RD for most of the season he ended up with eleven goals and twenty five assists which is pretty good. His plus/minus 17 which again is pretty good. Although Detroit got bounced from the playoffs pretty easily, it was a successful season for Bjorn as he hit the 2nd season cap and continues to earn pretty well.

Bjorn has a lot of hope heading into his 3rd season in the league as he’ll hit the 3rd season cap pretty soon into in the season which should lead to him playing even better and hopefully helping lead Detroit further into the playoffs.

Task 15:

Bjorn

1: My player really did not live up to the expectations I had for him. Season 57 was a sad year for Newfoundland at least in the regular season. We saw the departure of Liam Slate to Qubec City. It only made sense since Liam was getting called up to Toronto. But after losing so many quality forwards to the SHL or trades Bas didn’t have the play makers around him to enable him to be the player that he was when he was rookie. When Bas was a rookie he had plenty of those types of players around him. When it was just Bas unfortunately the point production was just not there. Bas scored just 28 points in 66 games. Last season Bas scored 22 in 50 with 5 minutes less average time on ice per game. It’s just sad to see one of the league’s top rookies fall so far behind in the 2nd season. Hoping year three will be better.

3: Bas O’Bigbers decided to spend the offseason helping autism charities. Autism certainly has a wide spectrum underneath it but supporting charities that support parents and children with severe forms of autism is near and dear to the heart of Bas O’Bigbers. In addition to this helping with any charities involving LGBTQ+ support is also very important for Bas O’Bigbers. Having a family member in the LGBTQ+ community makes it especially important to help this community. Especially since they live in a part of the world where it is far less accepting. These charity organization provide support to people who feel incredibly isolated and it helps so many lives across the world. As an organization the Newfoundland Beserkers got involved with St. Jude’s since it is an organization that helps to combat childhood cancer. The fight against cancer is always important, but especially when it regards children. The fact that so many children must face things like this is heartbreaking.

6: I think that team United States makes a big splash and dominates the tournament. In their last year with Aleister Cain they are going to make it count by leading the tournament in positive gold differential and taking home the gold. Bobby Lane has a massive tournament leading the league in points and scores a ton of goals. Teams will be afraid to let the United States have a power play. Switzerland has a particularly surprising tournament in nearly tying the United States in points. Canada wins their group obviously. Canada lead by Jean-Paul Bolvin and Dick Clapper have a level of depth that other teams cannot compete with. Canada wins their group and while team Czechia tried their best, no team stands a chance in the face of Canada. In the end Canada and The United States face off in the Gold Medal final and the United States takes home the gold.

7: Martin Westrbroek reminds me a lot of Patrice Begereron. An incredible offensive ability paired with a solid defensive game for a forward. Westbroek utilizes their strength and physicality on both sides of the puck. When on offense Westbroek uses this ability to bully goaltenders and prevent them from being able to get a good read on the play. An incredible offensive touch allows them to be a deadly goal scoring threat and playmaker. The thing that makes them so special is that they can stop the best of them on defense. Westbroek is a more than capable Center on defense. Westbroek can absolutely embarrass forwards in the corners and takes away passing lanes and he strangles power plays. Simply put Westbroek and Begeron are so similar for their abilities to be both elite offensive forwards at the center position while also having the capacity to be far more than just competent on defense, but great on defense. Allowing their teams to be able to operate on a higher level than their competition.
5: The Hamilton Steelhawks still have a great chance of being in the finals again in S58. They have players like Theo Morgan and Aaron Wilson. It’s one of the most well run organizations in all of the SHL. While they may not quite be the same team next year as they were this year since players like Aaron Wilson should continue to regress. Don’t forget how elite Hamilton was in this season. They were nothing short of fantastic. So yes it will never quite be what it was, they will still be among the elites of the east and teams will be hard pressed to get beyond them.

13: For me Martin Wesbroek deserves series MVP because Westbroek was getting it done on both sides of the puck for Chicago in the biggest games in the history of the franchise and that should not go unrecognized. In just five games Chicago dismantled Hamilton. After game one it was over as Chicago won four straight largely thanks Westbroek. For me he’s the series MVP and that’s how I feel. Also Westbroek is played by JNH and JNH is the best. JNH drafted me in the J and he built up Newfoundland into what it is today. So even though I do genuinely believe that according to all of the statistics, Westrbroek should be the MVP of the whole series, I can’t pick anybody but Westbroek. Because no matter what JNH will always be my MVP.

Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season?

I am very happy with my performance this season, i went from 24 points last season to 42 points this season. my plus minus went up by 18. Had similar hits, but almost doubled my shots blocked. And i am looking forward to continue to improve on  these stats as Texas works its way up the standing. This next season i am going to continue to continue my offensive stats to be able to lay down some bombs from the point. our plan on what we want to improve is to both win the West and ideally get 2nd in the league, and then making it past the 2nd round of the playoffs. We were happy winning at least playoff game this season, but now that we have a taste for it we want to win it all. For Texas we are focusing on improving our team all around both offense and defense.

Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one?

I think it would be interesting to introduce goalie roles in FHM, there are the obvious ones of Standup Butterfly and hybrid, but you could get creative and add ones such as a Dominik Hasek style that is the more scrambling/flailing style that some how worked for him. or more puck focused style utilising the ignored goalie stats of poke checking puck handling and passing. I want to see a play by play in FHM of a goalie pulling a Patrick Roy and skating the puck up the ice and maybe getting a goal or and assist which i think would add alot to make goalies different from each other

Which SHL or SMJHL team was the best team to not make the finals this season and why?

Texas is easily the best team to not make the finals this season. the only reason we didnt make it past the 2nd round is because Kalakar rigged the sim against us. He did this by changing the macro in the sim that makes texas play better in the sim when i type "tex tex tex" to instead make them worse. But we will make up for this next season my winning the presidents trophy so that we dont have to play a stinkin Great Lakes team in the 2nd round and can make it to the conference finals and then go on to win the Cup we deserve

a. The season series between these two teams was tied 3-3. Do you think either team has an advantage in this series or do you see it as a true toss up?
b. Each of these teams boasts a very strong first powerplay unit - which team has the special teams advantage in this series?
c. Which of these two teams' brandings do you prefer? Take into account colors, logo, name, location, and anything else you consider relevant.
d. Would you rather get a lap dance from Hugh Jazz, have a staring contest with Luke Atmey (velv's old player), reach for objects on high shelves with Dale Miller, or play League with Parker Smeb?

a. I think this series is close enough that who ever has home ice advantage i would tip the scale towards, though i think one thing that seemed to help Chicago is that i looked like they kept adjusting theit lines and tactics from game to game where HAM seemed to run with the same lines, i may be wrong though. But that would have me give Chicago the edge

b. I think that i am going to give Chicago the advantage on the power play because they have the stud that is Corey Kennedy on the blue line to set up plays and shot the puck, both of hamilton top defenseman in Gabriel Johnson and Samuel Michaud are good puck movers, but are weak on shooting which gives them less flexibility on the plays they run

c. I like Chicago's Branding a bit more, even though it is a little to similar to Texas's i really like the shading of the face as well as the use of more vibrant colors where as Hamiltons seems kind of faded. I also think Chicago is a better city for an SHL team than Hamilton is, i honestly dont know where Hamilton actually is

b. I would easily pick to reach for objects on high shelves with Dale Miller, me and Miller share a birthday so of course we could celebrate that with some top shelf booze, though maybe as a present for both of us we could get each other some lap dances from Hugh Jazz

My player had a good but not great season. As a rookie coming into the league it's tough to break in do much but I feel like I could have positioned myself a little better coming in to have a better season. That being said I had a fun year, I was surprised with how many hits I was able to get and I chipped in a few points. I am playing on a great team in Calgary so the team carried me a bit. There is so many great players on Calgary and it was fun to play with my fellow rookie Mats Marner this year. He led the way offensively while I was more of a defensive player. We were like Yin and Yang out there and for a couple of rookies I feel we had a solid impact with our seasoned leader Nicky Pedersen Jr leading the way for us. It was nice to have a S44 vet show us how to play and it was a nice balance of old and new.

The "Ovi"

I think Sniper doesn't accurately describe Ovechkin and I feel we needs his own category. Like how they have Gretzky's Office. The Ovi will be a goalscorer who plays a heavy game. Not easy to push around and a cannon of a shot. A genius goalscorers IQ with a willingness to throw the body around. Maybe not the strongest player defensively. Not going to win a fastest skater contest. But amazing positioning and strength and stamina. The Ovi doesn't get tired as the game goes on but instead gains energy like the machines from the matrix. Sucking up the essence of his opponents. If the games goes to OT you can count on The Ovi to win it all.

Over the offseason your player is getting involved in some charitable causes. What is your player/team doing around the community/for charity this offseason?

I am working with a charity called Creator Kids. We help families with low income a place to take their kids to learn about creating. Families with kids have access to amazing toys and interactive tools to help their mind grow. One thing I like to do is donate LEGO sets to the kids and they have so much fun building them. It's a great toy but also a tool to teach them about so many aspects of themselves. First they are building or creating something hands on which is always great for development. Secondly by following the instructions they learn that by doing things in the right order they can accomplish great things. You can't skip steps in life just like you can't in LEGO. Kids have so much fun with it and after they are done building whatever the instructions showed them they can also take it all apart and build anything their minds can come up with. Kids are the best and being around them help me learn more about who I really am in my heart.

What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players?

I think the North American teams are going to be very strong. Canada and USA both had really strong tournaments last year. Canada went 10-2 in the tournament and USA 9-3. They have great rosters with tons of up and coming players still so although they will lose a few older players they have a plethora of new ones just waiting in the wings to fill the gaps. I could see either Canada or USA winning gold and it wouldn't surprise me. I play on team Latvia and we are a young team with a bright future but it may not be our time quite yet. I am happy to be playing in the tournament and hope I don't get taken advantage of by all the great talent we will be facing. I will do my best out there for Latvia and hope for many fun tournaments to come. Across the pond Japan looks to be a threat again and I could see Great Britain having a great year.

SHL-NHL comparisons. With the NHL season kicking off again, what are some team or player comparisons between SHL and NHL? Pick one (or more) comparison(s) and explain why it works (e.g., Monkey D Luffy is the Connor McDavid of the SHL because xyz, or the Chicago Syndiacte are the Nashville Predators of the SHL because xyz, or nour is the Gary Bettman of the SHL because xyz).

@Steelhead77 or Esa Parmborg is the Steve Yzerman of the SHL. Steve Yzerman was one of the greats when he played. His battles between his Red Wings and the other powerhouse of those years the Colorado Avalanche were some of the greatest hockey games of all time. After being one of the greatest players to play Steve Yzerman retires and heads into NHL management. We saw him build an amazing team in Tampa Bay. He won GM of the year as well while he was with them. He is now back to his roots managing in Detroit and it is going to be great to see what he can do there. Steelhead77 or Esa has been one of the greatest players in SHL history and also one of the greatest managers in the history of the league as well. Esa and Stevie Y are a cool comparison and they both have a lot of respect and seem to do things the right way. Great leaders!

I'd say my expectations for the the fifty eighth season of the simulation hockey league were met for guy zheng, defenseman of the atlanta armada I mean inferno. Going into the season, I knew that guy would take a step back from his previous stevens worthy performance in the fifty seventh season of the simulation hockey league, because after signing the clap of asses, there weren't enough points to go around between the two star defensemen. Also, we knew that the two of them play terribly together from their time with the new england wolfpack in the early season fiftys of the simulation hockey league, so we had to split them up and further split up the point totals. Overall, guy zheng had a decently productive season that was still enough to put him in the top tier of defensemen in the league, and that's all I can ask for before he begins his journey as a forward.

Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one?

For franchise hockey manager (five), and specifically for the simulation hockey league, I would create a new skater role. The skater role would be named the quinn hughes who just plays like an absolute chad and exudes so much older brother energy that you would think that they were your older brother (gender neutral of course, just like how guy can be a gender neutral term of endearment). So, the player archetype would consist of being able to magically get the puck through traffic, right onto your teammates' sticks, skate like an absolute god and walk the line like you were a medicinal marijuana dispensary that gives out prescriptions to everyone.

What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players?

Alright here we go love these international ice hockey federation prompts cheers @hotdog for the easy pitch that should lead to a home run. Now, as we all know, ever since they got rid of @Gwdjohnson as fed head, team canada has been on an absolute roll. They are no longer cursed by his absolute ineptitude and should probably win the tournament if they don't mess it up to be honest. However, they will have to go through the great british team from great britain who will be no small threat. Our team is quite formidable, and is in the process of replacing our old (but still above 1600 TPE) dudes with some young (1500+ TPE) dudes and we should be a perennial contender for the gold medal, at least for another 5 seasons. Other than these two teams, I'm not sure who else could come out on top. I guess Japan has a decent chance too, with all their guys peaking at the same time. I expect Monkey D Luffy or Daniel Smeb to come out on top for individual points because that team is definitely a one line team.

As my last PT prompt ever I am happy to claim creative license here and do this prompt that no one is allowed to get mad at me because it's my last PT prompt ever.
Many athletes have created OnlyFans accounts recently, including Bec Rawlings, Plaxico Burress, and Adi Spiegelman - if your SHL player created an account what premium content are fans around the world subscribing to see? It doesn't have to be sex stuff but it doesn't not have to be :o Would your player be successful on this platform? No graphic option for this one! Goodbye!

Uh ok so check this out right this is a great idea just hear me out give me a chance ok here we go. Guy zheng makes an only fans account, fans around the world would be paying for his premium content that involves him crushing watermelons with his gigantic thighs, naked while also rock hard. This is actually a part of his offseason training already so he's just making it public and making a bit of money on the side for no extra effort. The ability to keep constant blood flow to his raging erection while also trying to feed enough blood to his legs to crush a watermelon is actually a great way of training his body for a full season of hockey. This absolutely incredible level of control over his lower body leads to absolutely insane performances, both on and off the ice. Of course there will also be some videos of cum tributes to nathan explosion @micool132.

After a few years of disappointing results, both as a player and as a team, I started being able to turn around kk personal performance. I think a big part of this comes from the improvement of the young guns around me, allowing me to be able to focus more on my offensive game, and having other people help cover the backend for me.

That said, even though I personally had some success this season (and was able to bring myself within 10pts of the franchise record), I still wasn't able to help convert that into team success. Doing well personally I'd always nice, but we play to win the game. In this off-season, I need to focus on helping make those around me better, I'm getting closer and closer to the end of my career, and things just aren't as easy on me as they used to be.

I'll keep working hard, but it's time for me to begin taking a more serious locker room role and helping to get those young guns to a place where they can bring home the trophy. It may not be withe, but I can be involved in making good on my promise to get San Fran a cup.

I think that it would be cool to see a sort of locker room leader role. In order to be able to access it, you need to have been playing for the same team for at least 5 seasons, and be in your later stages of your career.

This role could act skin to a buff class in an RPG where theyay not be the best attackers or defenders, but they do a great job atakong those around them better.

The stats that this would center around would be mostly mental, making things like team player, leadership, and professionalism.

These players would be important in tough situations or playoffs as they're able to help bring their team together, and help stem the loss of momentum during losing streaks.

These players could be an important member to have on the team, and would help us emulate our favourite glue guys throughout the league who may not be the best players on the ice, but contribute greatly to a team with their attitude and relationships.

I think this is another year when you have to take a look at team Canada as being the favourites in the tournament.

Their core of the team is still young and they have well experienced veterans to help younger players with the experience.

They have been terrorizing some of the teams in this tournament over the past few years and have shown they have depth at every position, and that they have the ability to take on any team. This team had only begun to get more dangerous with the experience gained from the squad during past tournaments.

They will of course face heavy opposition from a strong american squad who constantly seem to be battling with them for IIHF supremacy. They will have their work cut out for them, but I believe Canada holds the edge having won the gold recently and their players will be itching to do it again.

Kata Vilde had an OK season for the Calgary Dragons. Coming off a season where he was ripped off for the McBride trophy there really wasn't any way to go but down. After setting the all time records for save percentage and goals against average Vilde's numbers this season were nowhere near as spectacular. He did still record 8 shutouts however. I think some of the reason was due to having a capable backup goalie who had a freaking amazing season playing against the weaker teams while Vilde took on the tougher matchups. Hitting 18% regression it will be tough for Vilde to replicate a great season but hopefully by keeping the raios in his build the same he can possibly chip away at the mediocore goals against and save percent numbers. Regardless of the numbers though the ultimate goal is to win the cup, anything else than that is a disappointment so hopefully Calgary can improve our playoff luck and get past the first round this coming season.

The goalie enforcer would be the new role I would love to see. The Ron Hextall build if you will. I think it sucks that goalies don't get to fight in the game. It would be great to allow that to happen but I wonder if by tweaking a few stats we could get a heavily penalized goalie. Obviously we would have to unlock aggression and determination for goalies. Also mental toughness, reflexes and poke check would also be key attributes in this. A nasty poke check missing the puck and hitting the shooter would be lovely. Aggression would have to be a max 20 stat. I would love a highly aggressive goalie swinging the stick around and doing damage would be fun and then to have the reflexes to get back in and make the saves would also be key. I would love to try this out.

Vilde will be doing what he does every offseason for charity, sponsoring a wrestling event at the Big Parm for the under priveleged kids in Calgary. This is usually a big hit every year. Vilde, being Randy Macho Man Savage's kid, is usually able to swing a couple of WWE superstars to come up for the event. In addition to the matches Vilde overseas all the food preparation and goes all out making sure the kids get a great meal. There also is always eating contests, last year being between the monster Esa Parmborg and the diminutive backup goalie Cale Admundsen which saw Admundsen take the big guy down last year in a massive surprise to all but the goalies. Vilde may actually even get into the ring this year. Being so old he'd have to take on another old timer so Vilde versus Otis B Driftwood would probably be the big match this year. And in order to inspire their younger teammates they decided upon a 60 minute iron man match to show these young pups the importance of staying in good condition this late in their careers. @Slappydoodle

Which SHL or SMJHL team was the best team to not make the finals this season and why?

Obviously being biased here I would definitely say the Dragons having been on top of their division all season. Many of the Dragons had outstanding seasons and the Dragon's top line can go toe to toe with any team in the league. But the sim is a fickle creature and it gives and it takes and this season it took from Calgary. Usually a dependable playoff performer golatender Kata Vilde suffered a bit let down in the playoffs and wasn't able to carry his team forward. It's very unfortunate his slump came at playoff time this season instead of the mid season as it usually does. So I'm going to just put it down to bad luck that the Dragons didn't make the finals.

Well for the IIHF it seems like the usual heavyweights Canada and the United States will always be in the mix for the medal rounds. What's nice is to see a couple of the smaller nations like Japan and great britain beginning to show some dominance. For many seasons the smaller nations could barely field a team let alone have it be competitive but with expansion and many new players coming in the IIHF is seeing way more parity the the SHL is. Sweden's young team is coming along and if Ola Wagstrom can get back to top form they should have a good chance at a medal this season as well. Scarn and Kastrba for the Chechs are a powerful duo and the Chechs could also be in a strong medal position. I expect Smeb, Bouchard and Brain will also continue to dominate international play as well. Eller, Sarinen and Booth will probably duke it out for the top goaltender award as well.

Task 1
Logan Wong honestly did not meet expectations production wise, but as for contributions to the team, he did make expectations. In 66 games this season, Wong had 16 goals and 17 assists, good for 33 points. He finished with a +4, so Wong definitely helped the Knights more than he hurt them this season. Wong could have and probably should have done a lot more offensively for the Knights, so he has a lot more work to do to help his team in that regard. However, the fact that he finished with a +4, with 69 hits (nice) and 39 shots blocked. He played great on the defensive side on the ice and with the intangibles, so he at least has the defensive part of the two-way game down. Going forward though, Wong needs to get the offensive side of his game better if he wants to follow in Ben Wong’s footsteps and Hunter Wong’s legacy. If not, he may be on a closer path to Gabriel Wong’s career, which honestly wasn’t as bad, but not hall of fame worthy like what his goal is.

Task 2
The pest role would be a role that would be very fun to see. This role simply just gets under the skin of every player, and draws a lot of penalties, and does a very good job at not going overboard and getting penalties themselves. The pest also scores lots of dirty goals. Goals that won’t be on the top 100 plays of the year, but goals that will just piss the other team off even more by the fact that they let this guy score a bad goal. Rebound goals, tip goals, licking players (maybe), you name it, this guy does it all to get under the skin of the other team. The attributes that matter the most would be screening, getting open, checking, hitting, balance, strength and fighting.

Task 3
Gabriel Wong is getting involved in a charity in Kelowna, all by himself. As a thank you to the community for welcoming him with open arms, there will be a ton of events Logan Wong will be helping to organize for multiple charities around the area. First, he will host a hockey game with the hockey players of UBC, and all revenue from the event will go to a charity that gives children the opportunity to play hockey. Then, he will host a hockey boot camp training session at UBC, one featuring younger children. Free equipment will be given to each child, as well as a Knights jersey that they can all keep and take home. The last event that happens will be the Wong reunion. Ben, Hunter, Gabriel and Logan will all sign autographs, then host a 5 on 5 game featuring multiple Canadian celebrities, including Ryan Reynolds, Drake, Seth Rogen, Michael Buble and Keanu Reeves.

Task 7
Logan Wong is the Colin White of the SHL. Colin White, a player for the Ottawa Senators who had a ton of hype around him coming up through the organization as an elite two way player, has now fallen off due to his offensive abilities. Logan Wong has been advertised to be a top two way player for years to come, but so far, he has yet to be able to tap into his offensive potential. Logan Wong was expected to be more like Patrice Bergeron, but so far is following the career projections of Colin White. Granted, both Colin White and Logan Wong are still young players and have lots of time to live up to their expectations, but so far, they are both under-achieving solely because of their offence. The one difference between the two players is Logan Wong is in a very respected franchise, while White is well, he’s on Ottawa.

Task 13
Nick Connolly is the MVP of the SHL playoffs. Connolly finished the playoffs with 9 goals and 14 assists, good enough for 23 points. Of the top 4 players who finished with the most points in the playoffs, who were all from Chicago, Connolly had the least penalties with just 1, the most hits and the most shot blocks, all in the least amount of time on the ice. Connolly did everything he could for Chicago and more to help them win the cup. They don’t win the cup without this man, he rose up to the occasion and solidified the Challenge Cup for his team.

1. Michael Scotch didn't put up the year I was expecting him to yet again and am a little disappointed with his development so far.  I was expecting him to have a more offensively impressive season yet he only put up 6 goals and 20 assists as a defensemen who sat on the second defensive pairing and specializes in offensive defenseman play.  While this is more than double his points from his first season he had 30-40 points pegged as his goal all yet and failed to hit it.  Although Scotch is responsible in his own end and despite the -5 on his plus/minus his defensive play did improve quite a bit in this past season which is something he didn't expect but is glad to of hit.  Lastly he did step up big on his physical play managing to get even more hits on the ice and to break up a lot of forechecks in Anaheim's zone this year.  Offensively he missed his goal but hit defensive and physical goals he set for himself this year. +3TPE

2. If I were to make another SHL character I'd wanna try making a winger whose primary objective is setting up teammates to score.  Making a playmaker I'd wanna be a primary contributor on the powerplay and I want my character to be on the ice with the game on the line when the team needs one last goal to secure a much needed win.  The key attribute for this player would most likely be offensive read to see what the move is to score on any given drive and other important ones would be positioning, stickhandling, passing, and of course stamina so he can stay out on the ice as long as is needed!   +2TPE

5. Anchorage in my opinion was the best SMJHL not to reach the finals.  They had a very impressive season points wise and allowed the least goals against in the league.  The season they had is amazing and they had one of the best defensive seasons they've ever had.  This was combined with elite goaltending, strong defensive work by the defensemen, and the forwards being responsible and picking up the slack in their own zone.  This team faltered in the post season but being second in goals for and first in goals against in my books means you deserved to be in the finals but it didn't play out that way this season. +2TPE

6.  For the upcoming IIHF tournament I expect Latvia to do better than expected, though this is slightly due to me now being on this roster I do expect us to make some noise!  Realistically I also expect the usual suspects of the US and Canada to have dominant showings in their groups.  Other teams I have good feelings about are team Japan in group A and team Great Britain in group B.  Both teams have some serious star talent and are teams nobody would normally want to go up against.  Additionally, both teams had amazing tournaments last season and this year both are looking hungrier to repeat these performances.  The tournament should be very exciting with all the elite goaltenders, offensive scoring threats, and terrifyingly deadly scorers every team seems to have.  All in all this should be one of the best IIHF tournaments in history as every team has legit talent and the ability to make it far.  +3TPE

16.  For Michael Scotches OnlyFans account he would showcase a bunch of hockey highlights and tutorials for those looking to get into the sport.  He found that reaching out to younger people on all kinds of media was the most effective method to recruiting people to the sport of hockey as not all kids are exposed to it in the States if they are not from a "hockey town".  As well as that he should off his OnlyFans would include videos of him in whatever clothing his subscribers would suggest or send and he'd play a pickup game with his friends on video with those clothes.  Oddly enough he was asked to slapshot various fruits on video to diversify his content and he broke many of his practice sticks on fruits that were extremely stubborn such as watermelon.  Lastly anytime anything in his personal life happens he will address it to OnlyFans before the media so anyone who cares about his day to day life gets any and all information from him and his side of the story before the media gets their hands on it. +3TPE

I think Commander Shepard played great this season and had a career year. Shepard passed many of his goals including staying a positive player as well as continuing to be a take away king. The only thing Shepard wanted to do that he didn’t accomplish was be at a point per game pace. In the beginning of the season Shepard played fantastic and in fact led the SHL for a few days in points. After that however Shepard got really cold before finishing with 58 points and 20 goals. Most likely all the bounces were going Shepard's way early and he regressed to average as the season went on. In the end Shepard was proud to be the team leader in plus/minus. Shepard will continue to be a consistent two way player with continued hopes of reaching a point per game pace before he retires. Shepard hopes to be more effective on the power play this season where he only had 6 points.

Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one?

I think the defenseman could use the role ‘Puck Moving Defenseman’. Although similar to the playmaking defenseman, the puck moving defenseman behaves differently by making very long hard precise stretch passes from his own defensive zone as opposed to skating with the puck. Obviously the most important attribute is passing, followed by offensive read. Of course puck handling would be very important too. Instead of focusing on speed or acceleration the puck mover focuses more on agility and balance to maintain control in the defensive zone. From there the defensive attributes become important as puck moving defenders tend to think defensively more than a pure playmaking defender.

Which SHL or SMJHL team was the best team to not make the finals this season and why?

I believe the best SHL team to not make the finals was the Edmonton Blizzard. With so many great players on the team they failed to knock out the Winnipeg Jets being reverse swept in the second round. There is always a big upset in one series; it just happened to be them this year running into the brickwall: Storm Chamberlain. The Blizzard had quite a balanced roster with a superstar forward in; Julio Tokolosh and a budding superstar defender in FR Finn-Rhys. It doesn’t stop there with the BLizzard also having an elite winger in Jon Forty-One. This Blizzard team could have given the Steelhawks a run for it’s money.

What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players?

Like usual I believe the front runners for this year's tournament are Team Canada and Team USA. This year they are not in the same division and could very likely meet each other in the final. However despite them two being the constant contenders other teams have started to chisel that narrative down. Team Japan for example finds themselves with many great players and had a great tourney last year. They could easily make their way to the gold medal game for the first time. Team Great Britain also is another dark horse with some of the best players in the league on their team. Hell even Team Sweden has been getting progressively better the last few seasons. I do expect both Russia and Latvia to be the weakest of the teams again. Hopefully their is an injection of talent soon. In the end I see Canada winning gold again playing the USA and Great Britain taking the bronze.

There are many great players in the SHL and most of them remind me of their respective avatars in the NHL. For example Ola Wagstrom has always made me think of Stamkos not because of StamkosFans avatar but because Ola has always had one of the most elite shots in the SHL. I’m going to take a different pick and pick Storm Chamberlain. It’s been a long time since the SHL saw a new hot shot goalie enter the league and tear it up TPE wise. Finally Storm broke out this playoff reminding me of Carter Hart in the NHL. (Ironically Storm's avatar is Brain Elliot). Storms numbers these playoffs were absolutely fucked. Storm led the SHL in the playoffs with a .938 Save percentage carrying the Jets to the 3rd round. And basically got peppered constantly against the Steelhawks keeping us in it everytime. Hart did similar things these past NHl playoffs.

How did my player perform this season? Well, I wouldn't normally toot my own, but since you asked, outstandingly well. Going into my 3rd season of juniors in Anchorage, my hope for Slava was to be among the best players in the league. After all, that's how it worked out for me the first time around with Knouse, but then again it was a flat 350 cap for everyone. Anyway, Slava managed to record 54 points in 66 games despite playing no time on the top forward line or top power play unit for the Armada. When you compare his numbers to those around him among the league leaders, the difference in total points was essentially equal to that of power play points. With Theo Kondos moving on to the Renegades next season, I'm hopeful that increased minutes for Slava, both 5-on-5 & on the man advantage will propel even higher in the SMJHL hierarchy before he moves on to the SHL.

Gods honest truth, I do not think I have cared about my own players performance in the 15+ seasons I have been a manager, my player is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I believe that I had something like two milestones this season? and I missed a third and fourth by very minimal amounts. I don't play a ton, but I believe I am very defensively responsible on the ice and that is all one can really hope for. Ultimately hockey is a team game, and I am the manager of the team so my excitement does not come from personal achievements, but rather team achievements. As a team we did well, finishing first in the West despite our slight unfair advantage. Our goal scoring was elite and our defensive was good. Our goaltending struggled, but ultimately we did a great job as a team and that is all you can hope for as a manager.

Create a new skater or goalie role for FHM. In what scenarios is this new player role best utilized? What attributes are considered important attributes to this new role, and why? Which attribute is the key one?

My idea for a new role in the sim engine would be a hybrid or even tri-brid between a few roles that already exist. I would call it "The Pest" and it would be contrived of a combination of screener and agitator. This player would primarily player in front of the net offensively, screening the goalie, but also continously crosschecking anyone else who enters the crease. Similar to a Corey Perry or a Matthew Tkachuk of the NHL. The attributes most important to this would have to be: Screening, checking, hitting and positioning.

I think this role would carve a niche role into most teams lineups.

If you asked me before the series I would have said Hamilton, but clearly Chicago has won by now therefore they have a clear and decisive advantage in this matchup. I think Chicago's experience of constant disappointment propelled them into a position to be successful at the highest level, I dare even say that Chicago is the better of the two S45 expansions.

Hamilton has a clear special teams advantage, Michael Scarn alongside Theo Morgan is the Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl of the SHL, these guys are two absolute powerhouses on the offensive end of the ice and without a doubt could be the number one and two powerplay point getters in any given season.

I would like to preface that I am not a die hard fan of either of the two brandings, but if I were to pick one I would choose the Chicago Syndicate because I enjoy the less common colour combination of the yellow and the black that we have not seen since the Admirals days.

I would opt to reach for things on high shelves with Dale Miller because I am tired of my guy getting made fun of for something absolutely out of his control, I am sure that Dale Miller is a great guy and he certainly did not ask to be short. I am a fan of yours forever Dale.

Goodbye!

I really did not want to choose this one, but it felt like it was likely the easiest one in order to reach the 150 word count that I needed. Coincidentally I have recently discussed potential side hustles in order to increase my in-real life pay cheques each month. I believe it would be most beneficial if Conor Tanner followed a similar path to myself. I think his best option would be to a one-off star similar to Mia Khalifa, he wouldn't run a true only fans, he would be a lazy creator that convinces everyone to sign up and then never posts content after getting that initial subscription revenue.

His one off video would be titled "Conor tapes his stick" and would feature him in the middle of the Edmonton Blizzard locker room, well... "taping his stick" if you catch my drift. He would use the money raised to pay bills and support homeless children though, so it's all for a good cause.
