You know what pumps you up for a game? Beans. With Bean Beanman on the team we learned that last season. He is our prophet of beans. We didn’t know what we missed out before he joined the boat gang. Beans never fail to pump you up. Bean can be served in any form really. No matter what, bean fit in it. Ever tasted Oreo filled with beans? Now you know our secret to the S57 Four-Star-Cup. You may think that is bullshit, but try it for a week. Nothing pumps you up more than beans close before game. Well, it doesn’t need to be close before a game, just have them whenever you want and close before a game. Nothing better to join the locker room before games. Everyone is eager to go out on the ice, probably because of the evaporations, but still. Maybe that also has some impact on the opponents, but for us it’s only a boost to the game. Nothing better to prepare you for games.

A lot has changed in the SHL since the start of the pandemic. Not having fans in attendance has changed the dynamics not just of the home/road games but it even extends to the locker room. The Toronto North Stars have always been a team that feeds off of their large and enthusiastic home crowds so not having them then has taken a lot of wind out of the team's sails. Eager to maintain an edge on their home ice, the management team has set up a few TVs in the locker room to play videos of Star's highlights and fan reaction videos to help get the team prepared to defend their turf. It helps the team to have the reminder that the fans have their back even though they aren't physically in the building. The crew also pipes in music and ambient crowd noise into the locker room before the game and in between periods.

The San Francisco Pride are getting pumped up for each game through a mix of pre-game dance parties and incentive related pizza parties. Pre-game dance parties are very important for keeping the team loose and feeling good about the upcoming game. The fast paced variety of electronic music mixed in with rap, trap, house music, heavy metal, and pop really gets the gang fired up to go out there and play their best. Dancing is encouraged to loosen up the mind but also get the body stretched out and limber before the game. Rookies are tasked with coming up with the playlist before each game and are graded strictly by veterans with a lot of feedback on how things go. Pizza parties are the second part of the equation and are awarded for every win and special individual performances. The team has budgeted for approximately 60 pizza parties at Dave and Buster’s this year (including some money to play games).

The Best way for Vladmir Petrov to get pumped up with the Tampa Bay Barracuda is simple. Blasting some great music throughout the empty stadium to get even more of a vibe going on during shoot around, skate around, or whatever it’s called in Hockey. Vladmir Petrov loves to listen to music, and even though there isn’t fans around, enough music can get your blood going. On top of that, the team leaders usually every game before the Barracuda skate out onto the ice, always have a great prep speech ready to get the team fired up. Especially since, at least within the organization, there has been a lot of talks of this year being the year that the Barracuda really break through and surprise teams. Everyone on the team right now is super anxious and ready to show the world what the Barracuda are made of, and every night, a different leader on the team steps up and gives their two cents to get the team on the right track for the game.

The only way for us on the San Francisco Pride to try to tap into that energy we usually get from the fans, we engage in a pre-game DANCE PARTY. For a killer dance party, you need to start with great music. We all take turns picking the tunes, some with greater success than others. Obviously, Alex only chooses the best Russian dance pop bangers, whatever those may be. However, others on the team have taste that some may consider a little questionable, especially Bjerg. This guy gets calls up and immediately thinks he's the dance party expert. Let me tell you, though, there's only so much 80s pop this team can take. I didn't realize that there was anyone out there who still listened to New Kids on the Block, yet this guy starts blasting "Step By Step" one day. It would have killed the vibe, but in addition to music we have a disco ball and party lights. No mood can be ruined when you have a disco call and party lights. I do think it's going to be awhile before Bjerg picks out the music again, though. Maybe he'll have learned something by the time his next turn comes around. (203 words.)

It has been a rough scene in Seattle with no fans. However, the team has only ever existed in the COVID world, so the players are getting used to it. Word has it that the cheap owner, Tig, didnt even finish construction of the seats because there would be no fans... For now, the players, including Reid, have been exploring the expensive seats that we would never buy. Making snacks in the VIP suites, and pranking teammates via the announcer PA system from the press box have also been highlights. In practice, some of the more goofy Argonauts have been roofing pucks to see if we can hit the flags in the rafters. Another game that is fun is accuracy tests, like trying to hit specific rows/seating areas with practice pucks. We send @Mediocre_Fred to go collect all the pucks anyways. To get hyped up, we also get to play our own toons on the loudspeakers, as high as we want. So that gets us in the mood for things. Word has it Jeffie wears air pods during the game and puts fake cheering in his ears when he scores. [191 wrods]

The fans have been gone so long the silence is almost becoming normal. But that’s ok because in Carolina we throw one hell of a party to get pumped. Most people think a get psyched mix should rise and fall but ours is all rise. Only the best music for our team. You give love a bad name, lick it up by kiss, All the best songs. The only song not allowed is the Scarn as I will refuse to play that day. Once we get the music blasting we put on our pads and have a mosh pit. We start to beat the heck out of each other to get that aggressive mentality. No one get hurt or goes too far but it adds in all the adrenaline that’s gone without the crowd. We know that no one is going to be more aggressive than us on the ice. Putting yourself in the right mindset can win or lose you the game and we don’t want to come out soft.

due to there not being too many animal related objects to put in the seats, the Pride had to instead borrow some knight suits from their local pawn store in the area of the stadium. (and also only one fake palm tree.)
