Friedland has advice for young rookies out there: Take your money and hit the casino. You need to invest - i know what you're thinking - I can't invest? I just lost 10 K on Gamestop stocks because reddit told me I'd get mega rich. All i know how to do is download Steam games, eat vanilla pudding, drink red bull and play dungeons and dragons - well this is where you're wrong. Anyone can bet in the SHL casino, under an alias of course. Take some easy bets - The Pride under, take the Baltimore over, and take the Wolfpack under for optimal results. If you are a true gangster take the HAM over but tbh you're better off toying the the bottom teams as their trajectory is easier to predict. People will persistently tell you to buy a house but i think SportsBetting is where the big bucks are.

As a well-disciplined veteran member and captain of the New England Wolfpack, it is important that Frans Eller sets the example of conduct on and off the ice. Instead of blowing his contract money on a new car or a penthouse apartment in the North End of Boston, he lives within his means and invests his contract into a long-term savings account to ensure that he can live comfortably for long after his playing days have ended, and he can easily send his future children to school to ease them into a comfortable, successful, and productive future.

Now, that is not the only thing Frans Eller spends his money on. He is a bit of a tech junky too, so he is always investigating the newest emerging technologies for the consumer. He has his own virtual reality room at his home, alongside his in-home gym to ensure he is in peak physical condition. The new Peloton treadmill is cool that he just bought.

RIP Dangel. See you on the other side, brother

I mean the only answer I can really give you in out of character reasons is just save it to use it for equipment and getting more weekly equipment for my player. However, that is probably a rather boring response so I guess the more fun one is the in character reason Jon keeps his money and that is to help fund the cult he is in. Now from other characters they are insanely loaded and funds all of them but for the little living area he has in Edmonton he is funding that very well. It helps that Twitter money is so nice this time going forwards too cause it means he is saving more money then.

Jon sometimes does spend some on himself to feel better or just to treat himself in the off-season but it is not anything crazy like a car or something he doesn't need. Just perhaps sweets or better facilities or home improvements that maybe needed. But 90% of it is saved for cult reasons I guess.

Payday you say? Well, that’s a good day. I get 3 million dollars per season, so that’s a bit of money. Well, you think so. I have to pay 1 million per week to be allowed to train in the team facilities. Crazy? Right. At least I make the best out of it and improve steadily when allowed to train. In fact, I think noone improves more than me in a week of training. Well most put in the same effort and the same outcome, but still. If you get maximum output every week that should be a significant improvement every week, right? No. Due to the fact that I’m still playing in the Juniors, somehow I train, feel that I got some nice improvement but not seeing any improvement at all.

Funny thing is, just by reporting in every week I gain a little improvement too. And with gambling I make the most of my money. Which then again I spend on some personal coaching, which definitely boosts me in term of skills, but I don’t see any improvement on the ice. At least I’m working as professional twitter guy and get paid for that good money too. Most of my money I make out of gambling though. If I fail my bets, I have to go back in professional journalism, to make sure being allowed to the team facilities on a weekly basis.

I have a feeling I turn into god mode once I get called up, at least compared to my current style of play.

Nicolae Antonescu has finally achieved his dream on playing in the SHL, and now that he is achieving a stable SHL salary and built up enough money from his SMJHL years to already afford training, Antonescu has been looking for other avenues to spend his money through. While a decent chunk of his salary goes towards a savings account for his eventual retirement, Nicolae has been sending money home to his family in Romania, and specifically bought his parents some brand-new farm equipment. Also, while his salary isn't enough to supply it entirely yet, Antonescu is looking to invest in the building of hockey rinks in his hometown and throughout Romania, to inspire a new younger generation to take to the ice. Not exactly a hockey hotbed, Antonescu is currently the only Romanian in the SHL at this moment, and with the increase in youth enrollment, hopefully the country can begin to make more of an impact in international hockey. With the programs Antonescu is starting, hopefully Eastern Europe can become a group of premier hockey nations once again.

Payday is the best day. This season I’m spending all that hard earned money on a trophy case. The Knights are set to win the 4 star this season in the J, and I want to make sure my place is ready for some new hardware. I’m gonna need a spot for my JHL MVP trophy, my replica 4 star cup, my post season MVPs, all of it. You can’t set these trophies up just any old place, and I don’t want to be behind the curve. Since I already know we’re going to win all these trophies, I figure might as well go ahead and get the crib set up for it. Custom made cases using only the finest materials Kelowna has to offer! Gotta go local, so I have a local shop doing the work. The stuffs gotta be easy to take out too, so I can bring it down to the local high school when I go down there to help coach the kids up.

Just like last year and the year before, Lemo up and hit the SHL casino with all his freshly deposited contract money! As his agent I have to say I don’t really agree with this sort of risk behaviour, which all sorts of gambling surely is (and isn’t there a law against betting on the league where you yourself play professionally?) but seeing as he has pulled off two consecutive parleys (along with half the league, it has to be said) and basically quadrupled his bank through the SHL casino in these past two seasons, who am I to argue... They do say that the casino lines have been made tougher to predict this season, but so far so good with Buffalo stumbling and bumbling out of the gate and his other targets also performing in ways that allow Lemo to be cautiously optimistic about his chances for a third parley cash-in. Unfortunately the same optimism can’t be felt when looking at Lemo’s fantasy team this season, but luckily that’s a gamble that doesn’t cost him money even in the worst of cases... or, well you could even argue that losing out on the possible TPE might cost him a salary tier somewhere down the line, but that would still be the case even if he were to abstain from that particular form of gambling... oh well, fingers crossed!

After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!

Typically I don't like to chat about what I do with my hard earned simoleans, but seeing as TPE is on the line I guess I have to. Well on to the back 9 of my career now I've invested most of my earnings in to practical and stable investments like the annual SHL Casino and the funding the top coaches money can buy. Much like my childhood idol Tom Brady I'm going to play forever so I'll need my own team of doctors and coaches to keep me in tip top shape. On a less practical note I sinked a pretty good chunk of my last pay day on GME stock and managed to make a small [potential] fortune! I got greedy though and didn't pull out in time so I only doubled my investment. Lastly I bought my dad Nikolaus a state of the art kitchen that he used a few times in a previous PT.

Eero Makinen JR is slightly smarter than his dad when it comes to spending his contract money. Eero JR took half of his contract and just put it into a savings account where his dad blew it all on fancy cars and a mega mansion in San Francisco right away. While buying lots of new things with the remaining money sounded great to young Eero he instead decided to use most of what was left on a private coaching session during the off-season. Finding a private professional caliber trainer in Colorado however during the pandemic was harder than he had imagined so he decided to spend a little extra money a fly somebody out from his native country of Finland to work with him. Now Eero does have a little money leftover still and he is planning on trying to buy a PlayStation5 as well as a new tv so he has something to do on his off days.

I am already all settled here in Buffalo, got a nice place in the suburbs, not too far from the arena and training facility, but also not smack dam in the middle of the city, which is nice. Having some quiet after a long day is always welcome. So when I got my first paycheck from my new contract I just signed, I figured I should do something cool with it. So I bought a small airplane, and went to sign up for flying lessons. I have always been interested in aviation, and flying a plane sounded cool but way too expensive. But now that I have some extra money lying around, it felt like the perfect time to go through with my super extra dreams of being a pilot. I think during the offseason I am going to take a air tour of the country, and go see some places I have always wanted to visit. It should make for an exciting offseason.

The bar. Ok, I don't drink away all of the little money I'm giving to play hockey. Maybe we should arrange a raise soon.. Either way, so I was given my money for the season. My car got a little banged up recently, maybe I should fix that? Also, my AC in my house blew, that could use some fixing..
So now I first have to blow some at the bar. Wait, they might card me, I'm not 21. So first I have to get a fake ID. That took a large chunk of the measly $2.5M I get from Minnesota. Either way, I'm getting drunk.
So with the reminder of my money, I gotta buy my training and coaching stuff. Then we gotta fix the car. Then we gotta buy food. Then we gotta save some for an offseason vacation, at least this one can't drop me two rounds in the draft. I will save a little for the future.

Payday is a great day for sure and I would love to tell you that when it comes, my player is quick to give as much of his money to charitable causes as he can, but sadly that is not actually the case. While he does give to some organisations, and also supports friends and family members financially when the need arises, most of the very generous amount of money that Philipp Winter makes as a hockey player still stays with him. Philipp is a relatively frugal person, for a pro athlete at least, so he actually saves up quite a lot of the money he makes so that he will be able to retire and live comfortably once his SHL career is done, instead of having to cling to other jobs in the business or do humiliating side gigs to mainain his standard of living. Of the money that he does spend on himself, a lot goes into fine foods and drinks, a small personal staff to make things as easy as possible around the house so that all the work there doesn't fall to his wife while he is on the road, as well as vacation and travel to new places whenever he gets the chance.

With my love of Portland Maine and getting a new roommate in the form of a massive samurai goaltender Bigga Foryu  @UberBJ I have decided that its time to actually buy a place instead of throwing money down the drain by renting my flat downtown. Turns out that 4.5 Million goes much farther than Denver. So I dont have to spend my entire salary to get a measly 2 bed 1 bath close to town. 20% down on a big 2000 sq ft flat downtown, a brand new Audi A8, and a 5 new suits are the big expenses. The rest goes into savings, the stock market, and crypto holdings. Gotta live well, but also be responsible with my cash, because as we all know, our careers wont last forever. Gotta make smart investments where we can. If I am going to retire when im 35, I need to be smart. Next year my goal is to invest in a sports bar across the street from the stadium with a speakeasy in the basement. A place where people can go watch the timber when they cant get tickets, but also a nice hideaway underneath for people get get high class cocktails in a dark, quiet space
