Newfoundland Berserkers Game Reactions for Day 18

Pregame coverage: THE ZERKS NEED TO WIN BADLY BECAUSE IF THEY DON’T I WILL BE SAD FOREVER AND IF I AM SAD FOREVER I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP WRITING THESE THE PAIN THE PAIN THE PAIN. So games against Carolina and Anaheim today. So far this season games against those opponents have been a breeze but with the slump we’re in right now, who knows? Let’s go Zerks.

Game 42: Newfoundland at Carolina
Another painful game where Newfoundland outshoots their competition greatly yet it isn’t reflected on the scoreboard… until the 3rd period when Dwayne Gretzky tied it up and then in the dying seconds of the game with a 6 on 4 DWAYNE BURRIES IT IN THE BACK OF THE NET TO WIN THE GAME YES YES YES!!!!!

A lot of really solid Zerk performances in this game. Nike Kickz Jr kicked the scoring off by scoring a 1st period goal. Sabaro Torretta had 3 hits and helped to keep the Newfoundland forecheck strong tonight. Heck Jonas Caspari even had 3 takeaways but it all pales in comparison to our Zerk of the Game performance.

Our Zerk of the Game goes to: Dwayne Gretzky! What a fucking performance at such a dire time. We’ve really needed just someone to step up and help this team move into a new direction and that’s exactly what happened tonight with Dwayne. Losing 1-2 in a game where we were nearly outshooting carolina 3-1 it looked like another dire night for the Zerks. Then with a little under 8 minutes left in the game Dwayne Gretzky snipes it past Roddy Ross to equalize the game AND JUST LIKE THAT WE’RE BACK IN IT. Desperately trying to end it in regulation the Zerks fire and fire. Then the Zerks get a power play opportunity and with just 26 seconds left on the clock Gretzky fires it into the back of the net and the game is over! ZERKS WIN! ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERKS WIN! GOD I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Game 43: Anaheim at Newfoundland
A well needed break from the painful games as of late. The Zerks cruise to a 6-0 victory and we couldn’t be prouder of the boys. Well done everyone!

So many Zerk performances to note. First off Matty Sandeen with a phenomenal night at the blue line. I don’t know if anyone in the Manhattan Rage is paying attention to his numbers right now but if they are they better be damn excited. 2 minutes on the penalty kill, 3 hits, 2 takeaways, 3 blocked shots, and apple on top of it all. Phenomenal performance by the defenseman. Then we have the rookie SENSATION Evgeni Petrov. Petrov completes his 4th shutout of the season! This rookie is a stud and god we are so blessed to have his presence on the team! Jesse Trudeau had a great game, scoring 1 goal, and 2 assists. Leon Athanasios had his best performance of the whole season tonight. 3 apples and some incredible work on special teams to quarterback the Zerks to 3 goals. Well done. Then Nike Kickz Jr had a phenomenal game. Scoring 2 massive goals and playing a phenomenal game overall.

Postgame coverage: A phenomenal couple of games that saw the Zerks come out of a painful slump and hopefully get the season back on track. The Zerks have a long road ahead of them and some stiff competition for the four star cup but I think this team is capable of getting it done. We’re going to really need to focus and play our best hockey if we’re to have the chance we need. LET’S GO ZERKS!
