Registered S15, S16 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion SHL trading cards are right around the corner, let's transport ourselves a few years in the future: which player will have the SHL equivalent of a first edition shadowless Charizard (as in very rare and very valuable)?

SMJHL HO PEANUT!
An excellently tough thing to think about. The fact is, even from the STHS era (and now in the FHM era of things) there are a ton of fantastic and legendary players. It would also depend on how far back these player cards are actually going to be made. I really can't pick a single player for this one.

That's gotta be the card for Monsieur Pingy Pingy Lunga Gumba, Esq. If it's not because he'll absolutely tear up the league, it's because with a name like that they're bound to screw up the printing, making for valuable misprints.

It would be cool if the card team put out actual limited number cards if that's even possible, otherwise I can't see any card being too rare based on the ISFL model. Let's say that they do some sort of special rare MVP card for this season, I'm going to say that it will be Matt Kholin's card since he is killing it right now in his last season before hitting 15% regression. Hopefully he can keep it up and then all the collectors will want his card @Kalakar

It is very hard to predict who might be that surprise first edition keeper card. It would have to depend whether the cards are going back to current hall of fame players or just based on the new up and coming players. If looking at current and upcoming players my vote is for @AgentSmith630 to be a future star of the league and therefor predict his rookie card would be that hidden gem that will be worth a fortune one day.

A rookie Ryan Jesster card. Not only is Jesster an SHL legend, but his rookie season was decades ago. To acquire a rookie card at this point, one would have to go back in time to create one early. And as we all know, buying time-travelled goods online are far more expensive, even with the convenience of same-day time and space delivery.
Thank you to Ham and Sulo for the sigs!

I don't know the history enough to name one site legend that would deserve that, but Narboza Manyhands, due to his/hers/its/their very unique nature, definitely deserves to have a very rare and special card.

Player Progression Director be nice to me it's the law
I think making unique cards for the retirement of long-standing players is a lot of fun. For example, if and when folks like Tuck, McIntyre, or Driftwood call it a career. Getting a limited run "final game" or "goodbye" card for a player with a ~20 season career would be very cool.

Andrew Joycon deserves this honor. This player never made it past approval stages before he was shut down. He is now a legend within the lore of the SHL. He deserves this

I think some of the meme cards will become extremely popular. Off the top of my head, I think Cleo Green will be a sought after card. He would probably still be playing today if we had fourth liners with literally 0 minutes played per game.

No cap, I think that Kou Saotome's "Draft Day Card" would be the most valuable. Because she was never drafted.
So, my idea is that the trading card company had a bunch of "blanks" ready to print the new team on. Since COVID, there wasn't an official event, so they were going to use action shots anyway. So they had all these cards ready and set up to just plug and play whatever team drafted the player. Kou's blank "Draft Day Card" would essentially be considered a misprint and there would be a very limited number of them. So, it would be one of the most valuable cards out there due to its rarity. Moderators Cozy Connoisseur Code: SHL trading cards are right around the corner, let's transport ourselves a few years in the future: which player will have the SHL equivalent of a first edition shadowless Charizard (as in very rare and very valuable)? In a few seasons after the incarnation of SHL trading cards, the player who's card will be very valuable would be Tony Pepperoni's player card as he has become one of the best players to have played in franchise history. Obviously the Kappa Kappa rookie cards will be the hottest trading cards once he gets called up to SHL. The Future Watch cards will be one of the hottest rookie cards of him to collect. And the best card of all? His RPA from The Cup.

Michael Haan will easily be the Charizard of the SHL cards. He is the best player not to be in the Hall of Fame. Why would someone that not in the Hall of Fame be the craziest? Well, he's better than @OrbitingDeath , so there's no question about that.

Tobias Lindeman would have a super rare 1/1 card but instead of being Tobiast Lindeman it would be a misprint game specific from the S58 game against buffalo. The misprint would read Chadbias Lindeman because of how much of a chad he was on the ice when standing tall in their victories against the Great Lakes power house Buffalo Stampede.
