The Zerks haven't been slowing down for the playoffs - but Ham did give us a day off to celebrate. We spent that day with an impromptu practice led by Allbran and King, and the entire team really got after it on the ice. Otherwise, we've been treating it like it's any other work week - we're gonna prepare to go out there and do our jobs, regardless of the opponent. Rashford and I have been taking turns picking out targets to go after aggressively, Larsson has been absolutely mental on the boards - to the point where coach has told him that he can "lay off, they're supposed to be your mates", and Turtle has been making sure we all stay mentally focused by shouting out our record after each drill. The Zerks are looking to repeat this year, and to cement ourselves into SMJHL history at the same time. We know the road won't be easy, but as Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty... I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well."

Not sure how strict things are here with the tasks. The playoff matchup isn't set yet so I wasn't sure what to use for the game day program so I did a training montage that would be in the program. Also included the SMJHL logo to fit the 2 logo requirement (although it isn't a team).
Apologies to the teammates who didn't make the montage.

Welcome to the jungle! the Knights are preparing with a verifiable word soup of preparations and redundant redundancy for their first round match up. Part of being prepared is looking your best and for that the GM's have sent us on a world tour of all the greatest salons, manicures for our manly nails and pedicures for our skate shaped feet. Hair styles that will make the eighty's hair bands jealous with their over the top hair everywhere style. Relaxing mud baths and sensory chambers for forgetting the grind of the regular season. Sensual romantic couples massages between only the best of team mates bringing them even closer together. It is a truly pampered lot that will take the ice for the playoffs, they will be refreshed and renewed with a blinding glow that whoever they match up against will be unable to withstand. Just so long as nobody breaks a nail.

Moderators Cozy Connoisseur Code: Written Task: How is your team preparing for the playoffs? (150 word min.) The expectations that we and most of the league had going into this season was that Kelowna is going to have a tough season and not very competitive at all. Good thing that the game is decided on the ice and not what people's expectations are of us. With our team continuously improving I could see ourselves as a dark horse in the playoffs where some teams could take us lightly and see us an easy matchup. We had a team meeting after our final regular season game where we discussed what a wild year it has been for us with a lot of rookies entering the team and getting to know the previous players and what it would take for us to take the next steps to move forward. While I don't think we will make a deep run, we could give some teams a very difficult time in the playoffs and realize that Kelowna will be a dominant team in the not so long future. (167 words)

The Maine Timber almost certainly won't make the playoffs this season, so their playoff preparation is somewhat different to that of the other teams. The team is already making vacation plans for the playoff period. Viktor Krunk and Jay Cue have decided to use those weeks to go on a road trip to find out more about their new homeland.
Despite Cue speaking no Russian (and Krunk only speaking Russian) they have managed to plan a route that includes all of their favourite cultural reference points in the USA. They're going to New York to try to find the apartment from Friends, then down to Philadelphia to see where Rocky ran. They're then going to make the long drive down to the Ozarks (Cue loves that show) then join route 66 the rest of the way. They will make a quick stop off in Las Vegas, as Krunk still believes that it isn't a real place, just a piece of capitalist propaganda. They will finish off in Los Angeles, with both hoping to go on a homes of the stars bus tour of Hollywood, and catch a glimpse of the house of their favourite film star, Dan Aykroyd. With the power of Dan Aykroyd, the Timber won't miss the playoffs again.

JIn Quebec City we’re trying to keep our focus for the playoffs, Evok and Flex are making sure everybody is hitting the gym and gearing up for one last update before the first round. We’re keeping it light in the locker room and giving each other all the support we can.
We climbed up the standings pretty quick and sat above all in first place for a lot of the season, but after a few disappointing sims the Citadelles were brought back down to earth. We’re currently in danger of losing our first week bye so now is not the time to coast. It’s bag skates in the morning, with shooting and defensive drills in the afternoons - no days off. For a young roster that is eager to forge its own identity now is the time to do it, now is the time to put in the work and show up when it counts the most. The expectations from not only the fans, but management and the players are high. We want another cup, that’s been the goal since game one and hasn’t changed whatsoever since. Sig by @Ragnarr

The Anaheim Outlaws will be preparing for the playoffs by drinking lots of beer, and throwing a bunch of parties since honestly it's a pretty big miracle that we even made it, thanks franchise hockey manager. In terms of actual hockey things, there is a lot we have to work on since we're pretty terrible, although not the worst, shoutout Detroit. Since we have the worst goal differential by far in the Juniors, we'll probably want to work on preventing scoring and actually start scoring some goals ourselves, which could be hard since we havent been doing that all-season so I'm not sure how we'd fix that right before the playoffs. I think ultimately the bigger issue is that we have no defense, so maybe we'll want to work on putting ourselves in a better position to succeed when we don't have the puck, whether it be improving our defensive positioning, strategy, or being more physical as a team.

Well the Colorado Raptors are riding the highs of the season and haven't started preparing for the playoffs since we still have another game tomorrow. Instead we are practicing for our final game of the season against Maine. Then we will probably head out to the bar after the game and pound some beers. We knew we would have a good season, but this is unreal. We deserve to go have a drink with the team before the playoffs and since we have secured a first round bye we will take advantage of that. Then we would get back to work. We will do suicides until we cant stand, then do The Raptor Regiment. I can't tell you what that is though because you all aren't raptors and that would give away our secret to winning. People are amazed that raptors can even skate, let alone play hockey. This is all thanks to the intense training regiment that Jumbo and Ruggsy have developed.

The outlaws have been rather fortunate this year, being mainly a team of rookie with a few vets, hopes were not set high at the start of the season, with this year being more of an rebuild year ready to smash the upcoming years. So with that out of the way, the Outlaw manage to qualify for the playoff by default, being part of three team conference. So now with that out out of the way, the team have been hard at work training up the rookies as much as possible using all that vet experience in the locker room. The management have been enforcing the fact that we aren't hear to be dumbstered but still not to expect anything great. This year they've been stressing that it is a learning experience and to take that into next year when hopefully they'll be a mega force to come. Each member of the locker room has been told to go out there and play their natural game, express themselves and learn.

My Anaheim Outlaws are in an intriguing position as we wrap up the regular season and head towards the playoffs. We are fortunate enough to be in a three team division, which means we are guaranteed a playoff berth. While we currently sit in 13th place in our conference, it is a far cry from being as poor as many predicted we would be. We currently are leading Detroit by a point and are just two points behind Nevada for the 12th spot (not bad for an "expansion team" without and expansion draft ). While the odds will certainly be against us in any playoff matchup, we are hopeful that we can make a bit of noise and make our 1st round series interesting. With folks like Samuelsson and Bouchard racking up the points lately, and others (including myself) chipping in as well, we are not the pushover team that we were at the beginning of the season. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and what we are building towards, and whoever draws us in round one is in for more than they are bargaining for.

The Newfoundland Berserkers are preparing fort the playoffs by just continuing what we have been doing throughout the season. We have been one of the more successful teams throughout the league, we figured out our lines early on, so all we really have to do is be prepared for the games. Put the better goalie of the two on how they performed against the team we are going to face each round. However, even with our success as a team thus far the only thing we would need to figure out and fix before the playoffs is our powerplay, our 5 on 4 5 on 3, power plays have not been the most consistent. But if we can get that figured out we are ready to rock an roll our way to back to back championships. We kept a strong consistency throughout our season and will continue with the wins in the post season. LETS GO ZERKS. (157)

SMJHL GM That boy ain't right
The Newfoundland Berserkers are ready to go, after winning the cup last year the whole team is hungry for the back to back. We're making sure that we're in the gym everyday, bulking up and getting swole so we can crush the competition. These last few regular season games are important to us too, helps us train harder and make sure that the team is feeling good for the playoffs. It's very clear that this team knows how to win, it's in our DNA, we just got to lock it in and finish the job. All the rookies have been killing it, training all season and showing the GM that the Berserkers don't have down years. On top of that our franchise leading scorer Robert Black has been killing it the last few weeks in preparation for his last SMJHL playoffs where he's jonesing for another cup. This team is ready to win it all and everyone else needs to watch out.
