Quebec City Citadelles Captain Announcement
It’s that time of year again, preseason is behind us and sixty six games of regular season lay ahead. After another heartbreaking semi-final loss the Citadelles are back, primed and ready for another season, and another chance to take the cup home. This season sees that the captaincy remains in the hands of Greyson Cooper with a host of fresh blood as alternates - ushering in a new era of Citadelles hockey. Without further adieu, let’s meet the cast.
Captain
Greyson Cooper

What can I say about the real Cap’n Coop? He had an incredible break out season that saw him absolutely smash the SMJHL scoring record, earning himself an impressive collection of hardware at the awards ceremony, all while leading his team to the semi-finals for the third consecutive season. He potted 49 (!) goals and 34 assists for a total of 83 pints in 66 games, which is good for 6 more than the previous record of 43 scored by Kynwyl Pearce in season 58. His accolades include five trophies - the Jared Hanson for regular season point leader, the Roberto Martucci for regular season goals leader, the Ryan O’Keefe for playoff points leader, the Ideen Fallah for awards committee MVP, and the Raymond Lindsay for player voted MVP. The Buffalo Stampede prospect will be leading the Citadelles for what will likely be his last season in the J.
Greyson cooper aside, @
goilers is a pleasure in the locker room and is one of the main pieces that makes Quebec City such an amazing organization. Cooper is the right guy for the job, ready to lead this season’s Citadelles to another Four Star Cup.
Main Alternate
Brady Bertrand

Narrowly winning a team vote, Brady Bertrand will be representing the team as the main alternate. Bertrand flew under the radar while posting an impressive 20 goals and 18 helpers - finishing the regular season with 38 points, and taking home the Onoprienko award for the most underrated player. Bertrand was selected by the Manhattan Rage in the second round, taken 24th OA, and is poised for a big step forward with the Citadelles this year. He will be joining the second line with powerplay and penalty kill opportunities, and might possibly be the most handsome on the team.

Away Alternate
Aksel Fiske

After a team vote, Aksel Fiske was chosen as this seasons new away alternate. Fiske was the recipient of the commissioners award of excellence and took home the Elias Armia trophy at last seasons award ceremony. With an impressive rookie showing, finishing with 41 points, Fiske is
looking to make a serious impact on the scoresheet, the Manhattan Rage agree - as they selected him first overall at last seasons SHL draft. Tallying 10 goals and 31 helpers Fiske made an immediate impact on the Citadelles roster and is looking to build on that performance as the teams newest alternate, this year as a center on the second line. Sky’s the limit for this budding superstar.
However, where Fiske really shines is in the locker room. @
mer is ever present not only in the Citadelles room but around the whole league, if you don’t know who she is, you will soon. I’m pretty sure she’s going to be running the place in a few more seasons.
Home Alternate
Kayden Pale

Also inducted by a team vote, Kayden Pale will be representing the team as an alternate at home games. Pale’s sophomore season saw him jump from last in team scoring his rookie year, to third among defencemen. The lumbering 6’6 BC native found his scoring touch, tripling his goals and dishing out nearly five times the assists compared to his previous season. That’s a lot of sauce. If Pale is able to stick to this curve there’s no telling how much he will improve during his tenure in Quebec. The New England Wolfpack prospect will be moving up to the first defensive pairing and will be given all the opportunity he could hope for to show the J what kind of player he will be, a welcomed addition to a strong leadership core for the Citadelles of Quebec City.

Crazylemire joins the locker room it’s always an event, a level head that brings a different viewpoint to the table. He’s a diamond in the rough, and he’s all ours.
With a leadership core like this the Citadelles have a fantastic shot at reclaiming their Four Star Cup status. The veteran presence and young blood - all eager to win, will settle for nothing more than to return the cup to le belle province. Start organizing the parade, folks, this is our year.
