The season had a rough start this year for my Colorado Raptors. But as we near the midway point things are looking up. The main cause of such a shaky first quarter of the season, is the fact that we have played 80% of our games as visitors, so being on the road constantly has been a big problem. Once we get towards the second half of the season, we will see a drastic improvement as we start playing in Colorado more and more. As for Hans, their season has been pretty uneventful. The big focus is that his defensive production has vastly improved, from takeaways to blocked shots. And while the offensive side leaves a lot to be desired, the potential is there to go on a streak once he starts hearing the Colorado crowd more often. The first line minutes and pp time will help him achieve this goal, and hopefully he can end the year on a high note. [pbl]SMJHL Career:[/pbl]

It is hard to say how i feel about my individual play one week into this season of the SHL. If I had to describe it, I guess I would say it has been a roller coaster. I started the season with low expectations because, well lets face it, the Rage are built to tank. However in those first 3 games I put up 6 points and was first in the league in defensive scoring. That was certainly a shock and made me a bit more excited for how this season may play out. Then the other shoe dropped. I have had 5 points in the other 22 games played which is not great. However I am top 100 in fantasy scoring, have a good PDO and I am a net positive in the Takeaway to Giveaway ratio. All in all it hasn't been a great season but there is progression that I am seeing.

Prompt #2: Written Task: It's been a week, describe how you feel about your individual play, team play, and any notes/surprises about the league in general. (150+ words)
So far it has been a slow and rocky start for the regina Elk and Theo Berglund in general. The Regina Elk are currently 9 - 19 - 1, which is obviously not where we were hoping to be sitting, but Theo takes a lot of this onto his own shoulders. Theo has only a single goal, 7 assists, and is a total -12 in the games played so far. As a second year player he feels like he should be able to provide a lot more to the team, especially when he is being relied upon to play first pairing minutes. Despite this, the team is still young and still learning. I think our record is probably the biggest surprise to me this year, but its a tough league and teams are always improving, and we are on the lower end for TPE in total.

Excerpt from Lyle Odelein's pre game speech to his fellow veterans before their match-up against the Up and Comers: We've all been here, this game isn't anything we haven't done before. We are no spring chickens in this locker room. We have put in the hard work for years to get where we are today. So many things have changed since our days in the SMJHL or our rookie seasons in the SHL, most of us have grown as players and leaders. We have had our ups and our downs. We have learned from our mistakes over the seasons. We may have slowed down a bit from our younger days, but we make up for that in our experience. When that puck drops, I know that each and everyone of you will do everything in your power to play at the top of your abilities. At one point we were the young ones, breathing down the necks of our elders, the tables have turned. It's now our backs that have targets on them, I know that for myself, I am not ready to be taken over. I've still got some fight left and I know that you all do as well. Let's show these Up and Comers what it takes to get were we are today. Let's show them what they are trying to become!! sig by @Bruins10

Heading into the season I was very curious about one specific division and it's one I plan to keep my eyes on throughout the season - the Pacific division. in that division, there's no clear leader nor a clear dog, all of the teams are roughly even, especially considering disparities that can be found in each of the other three conferences. even in providing division prediction suggestions i was like yeah we're pretty much guessing here lol. Honestly through the season so far it's been an accurate description, although the teams themselves are fairly disappointing. Four of the five teams are on pace to finish under their casino-projected totals, including Seattle and San Francisco, who I thought could take a step this season. Only 7 points separate the 1st and 5th teams for now, compared to 38, 32, and 29 in the other divisions. This one will be a fascinating one to track throughout the season, although I reckon whoever winds up making it from this division is destined for a first round exit anyway. (except whoever wins the division - they'll get the honor of getting swept by TEX in the second round instead lol).

Friedensreich Hundertwasser looked up at the defender matched up against him and gulped. It was a terrifying prospect, coming up against such a mountain of a man as Lyle Odelein iii.
Hundertwasser and Odelein had a fantastic battle throughojmut the game, built on huge hits, mutual respect and a love of the game. Odelein helped the grizzled vets get off to a flying start in the rournament seeing away Friedensreich Hundertwasser and his team 7 points to 4 (though three of those goals were assisted by Hundertwasser). The young guns huddled up after the game and needed to shut their mouths, they were still agape from the awe of playing a team full of legends including esa parmbourg and Theo Morgan. Hundertwasser lead the team in points with ole Olson leading them across all defensive Stats. Onto the next game now and the young guns are looking onwards and upwards, ready for a fight. It has been a week indeed, Mr. Slash guy. Mew Two is continuing to be his mediocre self. So far this season he has amassed 21 points through scoring 7 goals and 14 assists, all of these earned at even strength. He has a pretty good plus minus of +12, and is averaging almost 18 minutes per game. This all is good for a 63 offensive game rating, which is honestly pretty solid.
None of these stats are particularly surprising, as Mew Two is an average third liner on a good team. My team, Baltimore, is extremely good, which is not surprising. JR and Sheep are dope GMs so of course their team is good. Baltimore has 18 wins, four losses, and two overtime losses. This is good for 38 points and fourth in the league, only four points back of chicago in first. Overall I feel good about my player and my team's performance this season and am excited to see how it goes! S58 Elias Armia Award Winner

This season has been so much fun for marek. The Skoda brothers have been able to play together and have been having a field day in the big leagues. Being reunited had been a quick and beautiful move that gave both the brothers a jolt of energy as they get go party like they’ve done this before. Getting their first points reinforced their belief that they are meant to be here and really gave them massive boosts In confidence. The big league is something completely different to everything that the Skoda have experienced before. The game moves so fast and at some points can really take a toll on the body. Definitely gonna need to keep icing the body after that. Another big note that popped up was the stamina and conditioning stint that the Skoda will be needed in order to keep up with the awesomeness that the league brings to its play.

So far I have been extremely happy with the way the season is gone. I am currently riding a high when it comes to the sim because Jack Kanoff is coming off a sim where he scored 7 goals. Yep, 7 goals! Including an amazing 4 goals against the Philadelphia Forge which was also his first career hat trick and hopefully the first of many! He is currently second in goals behind this cheater called Ryuuji Minamino who somehow has 27 goals so far this season??? Yeah dont bother asking, I do not know how he got to that myself. So far the Buffalo Stampede have all been playing incredibly well as a team as well which makes me really happy with my current position! When Chet Hillier, a filler D-man is top 10 in +/- it really makes you realize how fortunate you are to be in such a position. So yes, I am pretty happy with the way the seasons gone so far.

Prompt 2- Headed into the second week, the Texas Renegades are probably right where they should be. Not exceeding any expectations but not falling short. I think we’re actually performing better than we did last season. Just some teams are performing better than that. Me personally, my player is out performing anything he’s done in the past. Right now sitting at seven goals seven says 14 points over 100 hits and I even wanna fight. I’m hoping for the team to continue their success. I don’t see me as a player being able to continue to put up the numbers that I have started the season with. But the team around me is much better than me and very able to continue their good play. Just have to stay hot get into the playoffs and hope to advance. Having Chicago in our division makes things a little harder but if it wasn’t hard and it wouldn’t be fun

I've had an okay season so far, I am happy to see myself at 10 points, that's more than I expected in a defensive role, my DGR is decent at 61, I actually expected worse since I am playing top pairing minutes on the tampa bay barracuda right now. I would say I am disappointed in my giveaways and takeaways, to this point I only have 3 takeaways but 15 giveaways, that could be really costing us. I will need to work on both if I expect to stay in the top pairing. As for the team, we are doing pretty well at 15-9-1. Baltimore is still ahead of us a bunch but we are solidly in 2nd in the division, which is where I expected us to be. The playoffs will really be where we need to out perform some teams like baltimore, who seem to have had our number as of late.
