Although I joined SHL to experience FHM, I would have loved to see the SHL stick with STHS but make rule changes to fight meta builds/teams. Instead of completely running from the engine, some efforts to combat the exploit internally would have been interesting to follow.
I honestly don't miss anything that the SHL has gotten rid of. I think all changes made recently were for the best and the site continues to improve and grow. Well done, everyone!

The thing I miss the most is a consistent streaming schedule. I know the reasons for it, and I'm glad the streamers get to do things more comfortably on their end, but it has been hard remembering when games are day to day.
In my first few seasons, the over/under parlay with the casino was pretty much an automatic win. Now it's like 50/50 (thanks @hotdog :eyeroll:). I wish it was easier to win free money. That's what I want back in the SHL. Free money from the casino.
Quote:Your task: Describe something that went away from the SHL that you wish had stuck around. And yes, you can say your tpe under the new regression rules. But make it 25 words at least.
I'm gonna say the Halifax Raiders. I always thought it was sad that the team was relocated to Maine without finally achieving success in the SMJHL, after so many seasons of pain and suffering. I like the color scheme and logo, and had some good memories with the Raiders since they were the team that took a flyer on me and drafted me in the second round. So long sweet pillager.
I miss the unique site media, now dont get me wrong we still have some really good media pieces - but is definitely dying compared to before. Argars top 100, or his around the horn series. All the draft recaps we use to see 5 / 10 seasons reviews. Even the SHN going inactive is a big miss for the site.
I miss the days where the SHL forums where a place free of constant drama where people did anything other than argue with each other, because frankly, this is becoming alienating a bit. Wait, has that ever happened ? The SHL is supposed to be fun, not something that's supposed to feel like a chore and I think that's what people here are forgetting.
I loved PBP games. But with FHM that wouldn't be that cool. There is not a huge things in my mind now, but about regression that's gonna be a hard time for me.. 18% of my TPe will be taken off but also that is okay because I'm not the youngest player and I need to regress and give youngers to play more.
I miss people not excessively min-maxing everything. Obviously test simming and the recent parity problems are the most prominent examples of what has gone wrong in this regard, but it's not a new development but one that started years ago basically when test simming first became a regular occurence.
Honestly I do kinda miss PBPs. They were fun and although watching an actual live sim is usually more entertaining I feel like they definitely get a lot more engagement on the site than we see most things do nowadays.
I miss PbPs. While the live stream is nice, nothing can replace the sheer anticipation and nerves that comes with waiting for the next pbp post. There were some game 7s that will live on forever and I still remember to this day because of the pbp.

This is my second season with the shl so although there may be some changes that occurred during my time here thus far none of which have affected me yet. (30)
I think the league has as a whole improved drastically over my time here, but the one thing I miss about just having one simmer was the consistent sim schedule. Being able to plan for sims at the same time every day and knowing when they'd be helped the team environment in the LR, and I think this year it's become more of a crapshoot with everyone having different schedules.
