I'd obviously make the sim work in my favor, but the changes would be less obvious. Fatigue not affecting my players as much, slight skill upgrades, enough to give myself an edge, but not to be to over the top, after all, I wouldn't want to break the sim and force the league to find a new one. My players would shoot and hit a little harder, skate a little faster, seem to know exactly where the puck is going, it would just seem like it's a team that is really in the zone, not that they are a team gdetting a slight edge from the powers that be. It would take a few seasons for the changes to became apparent as I would slowly ramp it up and let it build, rather then having a significantly better team over night. I'd win a few championships in my twilight and then go off in the sunset on a high note.

Having never had the chance to play FHM myself (although I did used to play EHM for a long while whenI was younger), it’s perhaps hard for me to completely assess how well the engine lends itself to real world logic and how much the managers have to bend that real world logic to better play the system to their advantage. But on the whole, it looks pretty all right. I mean, sure, we get a surreal goalie performance from an unlikely candidate almost every sim, but then that also happens in real life often enough. And sure, it seems to favor certain attributes and playing styles more that others and that has lent itself to a kind of type-cast meta emerging for most players in our league lately, but then it’s hard to blame the sim when the possibility we have in our league to so freely choose where to allocate all our tpe allows teams to overload on all these super-duper power forwards which would be just so unlikely to happen in any real world league that the sim programming obviously hasn’t been geared towards those kinds of excesses.
So while I may not always agree with the outcomes and I am certainly not against further discussion on how to improve parity and how to fight for more player agency, I don’t see FHM as having such big faults right now that would warrant its substitution. After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!

The game does a lot of things right and I think it is difficult to pinpoint any small issues as you don't see a lot of them on the quick movement on the plays. One thing that is constantly an issue is how little impact the TPE of a goalie seems to have as teams often perform better with a worse goalie TPE wise than with a good one (provided that they will that cap space with a good outside player. It should let some top tier goalies carry a team almost by themselves, much like you see in real life (Prime Lundqvist in Rangers as an example).
That leads us on to the next point that I am not sure if it is engine or SHL, attributes and some superstar players that have attributes way above the other players. Take a McDavid type player with over 2k TPE should be able to upgrade speed to 21 to have that edge over other players. credit to amazing @Carpy48, @Ragnar @sköldpaddor, @the_paytonium & @sulovilen !

I think one of the best things the FHM does is depicting how well teams will and will not due. In the case of the current team I'm on (the Berserkers), the team is full of talented and highly skilled players and this shows in FHM simulations with the team dominating a variety of aspects in the SMJHL. This is also the case with teams that might not have such a well meshed or skilled team where they will struggle. One thing that I think FHM has difficulty depicting is the difference between skill sets and players of lower TPE. This might just be me but I find that when games are being simulated first and second year players often have similar stats despite second year potentially having higher TPE and a better skill set. In the case of players with higher versus lower TPE FHM does a good job at depicting the difference between the two as it shows between the skill set of those players.

Stuff i do not like about the current sims presentation is how you do not actually get to see you little guy move, for all of the issue with draft day sports it was always kinda fun to see your little dude make plays in real time, in this sim engine we dont quite get to see it to the same extent which is a shame, i would love tot see a WSBL type look where we can see the jerseys and puck bouncing around or something, i feel like it would make it a bit more interesting i do not often watch the sims here as i do in other leagues which is a shame, but it does suck to not really see much out of your player comepared tot he amount we get to see in any of the other big 3 leagues which i am a part of and a active and dedicated member of as

FHM does a lot of things right I think but at the end of the day, its a game engine that is not built for the way that our league uses it. Anytime you build custom players and start messing with weird setups you are going to get some very fucky things going on and thats where I think we are at the moment. Going forward, I would like to see a lot less weight being put on the sim side of our league in general and I would like to cut down on the amount of things we have power over in the sim itself in order for us to use the game to its strengths and not abuse its shortcomings. AI coaches would be very interesting for example, although I'm sure it would get a lot of push back. Youd potentially get screwed by some bad coaching on a good team but I think the randomness would be a lot more fun than seeing the same 4 teams win in perpetuaty.

I think the FHM AI will be crippled with too much knowledge of the future. It will run simulations on all possible strategies against all possible opponent strategies and pick the path which is most likely to succeed. It will have all the knowledge to know which strategy the opponent is most likely to take because it can simulate that just as well. I could see it taking a harm reduction approach where it spreads talent out evenly so the net opportunity for loss on each line is minimized. I think it will stack all firepower on PP and defensive skill on PK, but not have much overlap. We will see stars blowing all their gas on the PP then playing with the 4th line to hunt for breakaways. Teams will play 4 forwards and 1 defense in some situations where it statistically helps, unbounded from conventional roles. Somehow, the AI GM will pay Slip McScruff lots of money to be a PK specialist and then nothing else.

Well I think to really have some it could one of two ways. Either you cuscus’s total havoc and go mad with creating a totally baizzare and interesting strategy like playing no goalie for the whole game. However this though could get extremely boring if your winning without any issues. So most like I would edit the sim to ensure that my team does just enough to win enough games to progress through to each round of the playoffs or regular season. Maybe having one player having a steler season setting a few records that’s are just out of reach but nothing stupid like 200 goals and 300 assists. This way there should be enough “entertainment” to still enjoy what’s going on. I think I would also try and make each team other than mine very close and allow it to wait her which way they go. Hopefully this provides enough entertainment to keep it interesting.

Oh, we get to be the man behind the curtain now? I can dig it. First off, I would swap every other team’s tactic to a dump and chase, and change as many players to goons and agitators for opposing teams as I could. After that, I would play their backup goaltender for the entirety of their schedules, essentially making their starting goalie the de facto backup. That’d be funny, but it’s not like goaltenders actually have that big of an impact on the FHM sim anyway. In addition, I would go ahead and manipulate all of their intangible ratings and make them all mentally unstable players and likely to just dry up all offensive talent. We’re talking McDavid-type players suddenly playing like they were thick Nick Ritchie. It’d be hilarious, and no one would know where it was coming from. I of course wouldn’t do the same for the Winnipeg players, because we’ve been down enough as it is.

If the SHL ever were to implement an AI system in the league, it would be one of the smartest things we could do. Right now all we have are the good people getting fed up with the idiot people and leaving. There’s never been more openings ever. It’s ridiculous. Replacing these bums with AI is a decision that should’ve been made a long time ago. One of the first things it does right is remove all the crybaby nonsense that happens around here, and in the Discords. The battles will still be petty, but at least they won’t have that stupid GM tag anymore, they’re finally on an even level with us plebs that they treated so poorly. Posting in their stupid GM channels and completely ignoring everything else. The other amazing thing it does right is simulate perfect pairity so everyone can shut the fuck up. Every player that hits the cap will sim with a stat line of 1’s. 1 goal, one assist, one hit, one block, everything. However, the goalies get the same treatment. Goals allowed 1, GAA 1, Saves 1, etc. So the simulation breaks, horribly corrupting itself beyond repair. Then the real fun begins

The easiest way would just play people in roles that don't suit them. Strong defenders should be attacking constantly and the best shooters are your new deep defensive blue liners. You could also start changing sliders to that people with terrible physicals try to hit regularly. Make teams way too aggressive to give up penalties constantly or even have teams pull their goalie ridiculously early. The most fun thing, though, would be to have goalies on the ice playing Center. It would be a complete clusterfuck that would be a ton of fun to watch from the sidelines. Especially when your team is running just fine, playing your players with proper sliders and in their correct positions. It is obvious that your coach is just the better robot when compared to all of the other robots. If you could do things really crazy, it would be fun to adjust the ice for other teams, too. Make their ice really soft or too hard. Just crazy physics things on top of the normal lines sabotage.
