Leon Misses Boom and Ham (Still Needs Money Tho)

Hello again, and a special welcome to @Grum for being the only person to comment on my last "Leon needs money" post. I feel like it was a post of obligation during grading, or maybe just from the old Buffalo ties. Regardless though, I appreciate it and you get a shoutout in this piece!
In the last piece found here, I had listed out a bunch of topics that I eventually didn't cover because I could get out of work sooner than I expected, so I'll bring (some of) those up here today and add another couple big topics to the top of the list: Topics covered today: - Edmonton Management News - What's in store for Leon's future? - Newfoundland Management News - Another interview between Leon and the mystery reporter - Drama around the SHL - Reputation in the league (Once again, I am cutting out topics because I've been writing for too long and I'm bored) Edmonton Management News So a week or so ago, there was a significant announcement regarding Edmonton's head GM, @boom, where it was announced that she will be stepping down as GM at the conclusion of S64 to focus on other priorities in life. This change marks a full management turnover from the group that traded for Leon in back in the offseason before S61, which is pretty weird to see. From the time that I really left Newfoundland, where I was reliant on Ham and Juke as my mentors, all I really knew for help were boom and @Bfine - now neither will be part of the team's management. There's a strong chance that neither will play for Edmonton either as Sota was already traded away and boom's player will be in the upcoming draft, so there's a pretty strong chance that the team's culture might look very different in the next couple seasons. Really all I wanted to get out of this portion here was to say thank you to boom, for everything she did for me as Edmonton GM and for trading for me and giving me a shot on a SHL roster. Despite being a horrendous earner and semi-active for large portions of my career (and this is like my fourth media ever after like eight seasons lol), boom choose to keep me around even as I didn't feel like I really deserved a roster spot, with more deserving veterans and younger, higher earning players in the pipeline as well. So yeah, thanks boom and best of luck with your next player and I hope you come back to GM'ing in the future so I can play for you again! What's In Store for Leon's Future It's probably a good transition to go from a change in management to discuss Leon's future, due to the flux that could occur. While Edmonton members Hordle and Valor have both applied for the vacant Edmonton GM position, there still is no guarantee that Leon will be part of Edmonton's future. Before she stepped down, boom locked down Leon for another season on a one year deal, so Leon will still play for Edmonton for at least the start of S65 and will hope to build upon his career season. From then though, anything is really possible. I understand that I haven't been earning very well, about 300 TPE below the average for my draft class which could lead to Leon being expendable by whoever the new GM is in hopes of maybe recouping a draft pick from a team that could better use the cheap depth. I could also begin to pursue preparation for my next player, as I've been starting to think about that a bit. I'm not entirely thrilled at how poor my earning has been so far, and I think that I could get more serious - just not on this player. The nice thing about a money system is that my balance will carry forward onto my next player, so I could focus on banking up money now in preparation for the next player. I've only got a couple million right now so it'd be a steep hill to climb, especially when other users have tens, if not hundreds, of millions in their banks. I'd really need a lot of motivation to start preparing for that, which I don't quite have just yet, but writing something like this is on the right path. We'll see, I think the new GM and their plan for Leon and Edmonton will go a decent ways in helping me make a decision. Maybe if I get traded, I will be more motivated to stick around with Leon for longer if the team is nice and engages me. Newfoundland Management News Another pretty big announcement recently was @Nhamlet's decision to step down from his position as Newfoundland Berserkers GM at the conclusion of S64 as well, which I thought was pretty shocking. Admittedly, I haven't been super active in the LR in quite a while, only really checking in to play League with juke, tylar and others once in a while, or to post about music related stuff, or to talk about the NFL. I didn't see it coming, but I think Ham got engaged and therefore is busier IRL which led to the decision. Funnily enough, my first season in the SHL was also Ham's first season as a GM in the league, and I think I was one of the first FA's he signed to Newfoundland as well. It's been pretty crazy to see how successful Newfoundland has been since he took over with @juke as his co-GM (although Yosh is co now), with like 3 or 4 GMotY awards, and I think even more finals appearances. I feel like they've won at least three finals since Ham took over, which is pretty insane. They didn't even really run those IA 425's that much, at least that I can recollect. With an LR that active, and probably the pinnacle of what you want an active community to look like, I don't think anyone could question Newfoundland for having a dead culture that prioritized IA's in any form or fashion. It truly was a great organization to play for and the league will miss him in the role. Best of luck to whoever replaces him, as it'll be large shoes to fill. That's really most of what I feel like covering today, so thanks to boom and Ham for their impact on me so far in the SHL and I wish both of you the best in the future and with life. Hope to see you both around in the community! (1,170 words)

Look at this cutie
“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

It’s been great having you on the team! Leon had himself a nice little breakout this past season too.
