Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.
PLAYER PROMPT - It's quiet in the locker room before your first game of Season 65. You can hear the crowd chanting and hollering at the end of the long tunnel to the ice. Everyone is taking this last moment to get centered and prepared for the long season ahead. In the moments before you stand up and walk out to the ice together, your mind drifts to when you were younger and you were dreaming of your chance to play in these huge SHL arenas.
Written Task: Why did your player want to play hockey to begin with? What drew them to the game? Was it a supportive parent? A Hall of Fame hero? Maybe it's just the sound a skate makes when it cuts into the ice? What is it about hockey that's so special to your player? (150+ words)
Graphic Task: Depict your player at this moment of inspiration. Whether it's meeting a hero, or taking the ice for the first time.
CREATIVE PROMPT - OK, that's a pretty sappy prompt. Maybe you want something a little more fun. Fine by me! Your player has gotten the opportunity to host a youth event at the start of this season to get the kids excited about the power of sport and the spirit of unity. Hurrah!
Written Task: What activities, sports, or games do you have prepared for your group of kids to teach them the values your player lives by? Are you trying to do meaningful team building exercises with lessons that last a lifetime, or something stupid like trying to sneak the kids into the back door of a casino? Your call. Go wild. (150+ words)
Graphic Task: - Show me your player leading their activity for the kids at their event.
You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.
All responses are due on Sunday, May 22nd at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE.

Ben Jammin never thought he would become a hockey player when he was born in the land of "Bloons" around 19 years ago. Ben was primarily focus on making money and popping pesky balloons that will come to him and his fellow monkey buddies such as the Super, ninja, dart, glue, and sniper monkey's.
Around his teenage years, Ben started to pick up DJing and thus he became known as "Ben Jammin".When Ben was browsing through the r/hockey subreddit a few years ago, he came across a post promoting the "Simulation Hockey League" and now he's part of the SHL world. The community aspect of this league has really drawn him in and is the main reason he has become so invested for all of these years.
Even though Ben Jammin is a monkey, he has learned a lot from his various coaches, teammates and general managers who have guided him on how to be the best hockey player he can on and off the ice.

Vaseline Podcalzone first began to play hockey because, well, there was literally nothing to do in his hometown of Vladivostok. It's cold basically all year round, and there was definitely lots of ice. Podz grew up with the familiarity of skating out in the outdoor rinks during the winter, and just having fun with his close friends. Believe it or not, Podz didn't play organized hockey until he was something around 7 or 8, much later than some of the typical pros. Pod's parents were also very much supportive of his endeavors, and bought him most of his gear, albeit not brand new or state of the art or anything.
There's a lot that Podz loves about hockey, but by far the biggest part is the camaraderie that hockey players have with their teammates. Hockey is very much a team sport, where everyone needs to contribute and work together as a singular unit in order to succeed. That's really what makes hockey such a great sport.

PLAYER PROMPT
Louise St. Martin started playing hockey at a very young age in Geneva. She grew up watching her local club, Geneve-Servette, and fell in love with everything about the game - the skill on the ice, the passion of the supporters, the sounds of skates scratching the ice and the puck flinging from stick to stick. As she got played at a higher and higher level, the possibility that she was good enough to play at the top level, outside of her home country, on the biggest stage in the SHL became a reality. Every night over there, she played like it was her last, because she never knew when she'd pull the trigger and cross the Atlantic to start her junior, and eventually senior, career. Even when she headed to North America to become a pro, that passion still burns, pushing her to be the best version of herself.

New year, new city. After having recently signed as a free agent with a team from the past, the Hamilton Steelhawks, I am out here getting ready to teach kids stuff. What am I going to teach them, you ask? Well I am not really sure just quite yet. I am thinking we will go over the basic drills, shooting, passing, skating, fighting. But other than that, I could not really tell you what I will do. Of course some team building activities are always a good start, but these youth are not all from the same team, so I do not really care if they so team building activities as they will never see most of these kids ever again anyway. But team building is always what you start with, maybe some trust falls on the ice, as that requires way more trust. After that I think most of the day is going to focus on how to have the best possible goal celebration.

Player Prompt
Growing up on a farm just outside of Boise, Justin Time never thought much about a career as a professional athlete, but two things would happen that would change his life. The first was when his father took him to Lake Cascade, two hours north from home, on a cold, frozen night in January when he was ten years old. His father's friends tried for hours to get him excited about ice fishing, but young Time was easily bored and kept wandering off. Then, he saw a couple skating on the frozen lake, and was mesmerized by how fun it looked. The next day, with his father's help, he laced up an old pair of skates that were close to his size, and spent all day stumbling and falling on the bumpy, snow-covered lake. He loved every minute of it. A year later, a friend from school invited Justin to a local minor league hockey game - Justin's first experience with the sport. In an instant, the memories of skating on the lake came rushing back, and at the sound of the first goal horn he knew he'd found his passion.

Quote: Written Task: Why did your player want to play hockey to begin with? What drew them to the game? Was it a supportive parent? A Hall of Fame hero? Maybe it's just the sound a skate makes when it cuts into the ice? What is it about hockey that's so special to your player? (150+ words)
Growing up in the Caribbean, the idea of people playing a game on ice was something very strange. As a young lad, I signed on with a merchant vessel. We travelled all over the world and I experienced all sorts of oddities and cultural differences. On one of the trips we had an extended stay in a northern harbour. It was there that I witnessed the sport of hockey for the very first time at the age of 8 or 9. It hadn't ever occurred to me that a sport could be played on ice with knives strapped to their feet. This was something I HAD to see.
So I ran to the local arena where I heard a game was currently being played to see this in action. I'll never forget hearing the sport before ever seeing it. The game was already in progress and as I was rushing down the hallway looking for my section I could hear the puck smack off the glass and the sounds of skates carving into the ice. I couldn't wait to find my seat and watch what was making all that noise. I was amazed at everything.
I knew from that moment that I'd do everything I could to be as close to the sport as I could be.

For B Jobin, the choice to play hockey was as very easy one because close to his home, in fact within his home, he grew up around one of the best to ever do it in the simulation hockey league. His name is A Jobin, future hall of famer and absolute hero for the Hamilton Steelhawks, and he is B Jobin's dad! Everything about playing hockey B Jobin owes to watching and learning from his dad growing up, in fact he even chose to play goalie because of him, and his dad spent his entire childhood teaching B Jobin everything that he knows! Of course tho, a little healthy competition doesn't hurt either! B Jobin's twin brother C Jobin got into hockey at the same time as him, and they've always had a friendly rivalry to be the best among their competition and prove who the better next generation Jobin is. Ultimately, there was no where else for B Jobin to go but here!

Creative Prompt
Running a kids camp sounds like a great opportunity for some creative activities. There isn't too much worry about drilling down to the fundamentals of the game and the agenda can be much more fun-focussed. To start, the kids can do some warm-up skating on a fun obstacle course. Instead of having cones to slalom around, they will guide the kids in more of a curving racetrack-like path. Anyone not currently skating the course can throw beach balls at the skater to ensure everyone has something to keep them engaged. After the skating warm-up, the future stars can go practice their passing and shooting skills, but with oddly-shaped pucks. There will be cube shaped pucks, spherical pucks, pyramid pucks, and other wacky shapes. It will be a fun challenge for the kids to get used to the different shapes and see if they can adapt to the different behaviours of each one. Other events in the camp might take inspiration from some of the more creative events of past NHL/SHL all-star skills competitions to make the kids feel like they've made it to the big league.

Moxii was born in Toronto always grew up around hockey. It was a family tradition to sit down and watch Maple Leafs, and North Stars games. When he became 8, 9, 10 years old he wanted to play so his dad bought him his first stick and set of skates. Not tall at first was able to speed past guys, always loved to pass the puck around with his dad. Shooting on ponds or at boxes. Family is where it all started. Being on a team from then on knowing you've joined a brotherhood, a family. You've got there back, and they have yours. That concept was forever cherished by young Moxii. Philosophy of dedication and hard work was the second reason. Being able to perfect his craft was a dream, to become like the idols that we see on TV. From then on he became obsessed with the sport.

Player task:
Why William Salming began to play hockey? Because he wanted to score points. As a child he admired players who scored a lot of points and were star players. Salming wanted to be a same kind of guy who is reliable point producer. That's why Salming began to play a game called ice-hockey. However, nowadays Salming is different kind of player. In the youth he still wanted only to score points as much as possible but today he is happy if can also prevent an opponen to score. William is two-way winger for Seattle and has learned to defend too. He values defending even more than attacking today. It is amazing after those youth years, you know. Not everyone can change a mind set like that but Salming needed to do it because otherwise he would not have been able to play in the SHL because when he began his career in SHL he was part of third line and needed to defend mostly, not attack.
