The Maine Timbers are in a great spot in the early season. Currently 15-2 with 30 points and with the only two losses being due to a sim error for one and facing a red hot (no pun intended) Detroit Falcons team for the other one, they have been crushing it this season for the most part. One thing that has definitely been helping them is thier new crop of rookies both from the draft and one through waivers. These rookies have been killing it this season and are a big part of the Timber's success. So in this Deep Dive I will be examining the Maine Timber rookies one by one based on draft order and ending with the waiver pickup.
With the 6th overall pick, the Maine Timber selected Emil Egli, a left defensemen out of Lumnezia, Switzerland who has so far been proving that his selection was right. In his latest update he has upgraded his speed to a blistering 12 and his Aggression to 8. He currently has 3 goals and 7 assists for a total of ten points, and about 30 hits and 11 blocks. He is actually being played at right defensemen in Maine but that does seem to be working out for him. He is also a great locker room presence and is always a hypeman for gameday. With the 28th overall pick, the Maine Timber had to take thier GM's player Nibbles the Squirrel, a right winger who is apparently from The Forrest, Finland. Despite the short stature that his render of a literal squirrel would suggest, he has been a pretty nice part of the team. In his latest update, he has gotten Passing, Puck Handling, and Offense Read to 13. He currently has 3 goals and 10 assists for a total of 10 points. He also has 12 blocks and 20 hits which is way more physical then you would expect from a squirrel. And then with the 37th overall pick, the Maine Timber selected Sir Devoir aka me, a goalie from Tokyo Japan. I won't dwell too long on me as I do not want to toot my own horn, but messing up my first update has left me to have to many attributes upgrades in my second update to list. He is currently 4-1 in his career with his only true loss coming against the Detroit Falcons with a 3.34 GAA and a .907% Save percentage. While the really bad 8-1 loss to the Falcons hurt his stats, for the most part he has proven to be a strong goaltender for the Timbers for how low his stats have been thanks to the messed up update. And the Timber would pick up Matthew Mayhem with waivers a bit later into the season, a right defensemen out of Boston in the USA. Matthew has not has as much of an opportunity to play as the other rookies, but has still held his own despite that. In his latest update he hasn't update anything yet, but in his first update his biggest upgrades were to his defense read which is up to 13 and his speed which is up to 12. He has gotten one goal and one assist for a total of two points and two blocks and ten hits, but since he arrived late he needs more opportunities to get stats. Looking at how well these rookies have been playing, it seems that they are a massive reason for how well the Timber are doing. We will see how well the Timber will do going forward, but for now thank you for reading and I hope to see you all on the ice! Code: 615 words
