Having never played any form of college sport, Adelie was unsure what to expect when entering this arena. At the end of the day though, this penguin loved every last second of it. Everything from a live band being present to play Adelie's penguin march theme song to all of the college kids showing up dressed like penguins. Every moment was magical and almost overwhelming as the reality is, the fans in this atmosphere felt much more connected to the sport and much more crazed and supportive! You even had multiple fans thrown out because one in a giant penguin suit decided to do his best Adelie impression and fight multiple opposing fans! They were talking trash about hockey's favorite penguin and this man was having no part of it. Adelie actually found the fan after the game and signed his penguin costume. You have to support your fans as much as they support you afterall! Adelie for one hopes they never have to leave the arena if he can expect this every night.

Chimkin Wing doesn't mind playing in front of 4,000 people. It reminds him of his time playing for the Arizona Coyotes, even when they still had their 20,000 seat arena back in the day. Oh, that's not a real team in the SHL world? Never mind all that then. Anyway, Wing does not give two shits about the amount of fans he plays in front of, all he cares about is whether or not the checks keep coming in. He is playing like shit this season, but he also recently found out that the salaries are not performance based, and they are already set in stone. The one thing that bothers him is he can now hear the fans that are talking shit about him. He can hear them loud as can be, and even when he goes home after a game he can still hear them. They are in his walls. He needs to pull all his skin off to scare them out of his walls. Oh god.

Jarrod Lakemore grew up playing in front of tiny crowds in cramped facilities, often at public rinks with little league style bleachers for seating only. Hockey facilities weren't exactly top tier in England and it was a bit of a culture shock when he came to North America and started playing in giant arenas with state of the art facilities and large, loud crowds. Certainly he has gotten used to it by now, but he'll always remember his humble beginnings, and the college rink he is playing in for a season still has a great atmosphere. While some of his teammates bemoan the cramped locker room, outdated weight room, and even the state of the toilets, Jarrod doesn't mind. The smaller crowd often means only the most die hard fans come to the games and though they are lesser in number, the atmosphere feels louder in the smaller arena. Unfortunately, Jarrod hasn't had a chance to do any crazy celebrations, as his historically poor shooting percentage means he simply hasn't scored in his temporary new home yet. Bummer. (183 words)

Julian is always determined not to let the external factors dictate his performance. He knows that to excel, he needs to find a way to mentally reset and block out any distractions. He can't afford to let doubt creep in or allow the energy of a hostile crowd to rattle his composure. Taking a moment after the warmup, he closes his eyes, shutting out the world around him. He begins to regulate his breathing, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. With each breath, he imagines exhaling the negative energy and doubts, allowing them to dissipate into the cold air. In his mind's eye, Julian transports himself to a serene place—a hidden lake nestled amidst the Swiss Alps. The water shimmered with tranquility, reflecting the majestic mountains surrounding it. He can hear the gentle rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds. The familiar scent of pine filling his senses, bringing him a sense of calm and grounding. Immersed in this mental sanctuary, Julian focuses on reconnecting with his love for the game. He reminds himself of the countless hours he has dedicated to training, the sacrifices he has made, and the victories he has earned. The passion that burns within him is the driving force that can not be extinguished by external factors. As he hits the ice, Julian carries this sense of clarity with him. The crowd becomes a mere backdrop to his performance. He feels a renewed sense of confidence and purpose as he skates, his mind uncluttered of doubts or distractions.

I know some officials that went to work a season in the AIHL at one point and they told some fascinating stories that sounded an awful lot like this prompt with regards to how they were treated by the owner of (I believe) PSK Sakhalin after a playoff game. That being said, sport is a universal language and that’s something I learned in reality when I was playing in Japan and its true here too for Dominik. AK-47s and strange men in Adidas track suits don’t change the game that is being played on the ice. Dominik is someone that doesn’t have much of an issue blocking out what’s going on in terms of off the ice distractions, and he can certainly still go out there and play his game. Hockey is hockey. It would be a fun experience to play in a situation like that (looked like for a while I was going to have a chance to go play a few games in the DPRK) and I think Dominik would embrace that opportunity.

Oh, the PT prompt is hinting about corruption, eh? Oh, yeah. That’d be an interesting situation. Playing at Manitoba University, their barn only holds about 1500 fans. However, it makes for quite an intimate environment, and the loud fans seem more audible now. The concessions have quite a few “$2 Beer Nights” planned for next season, and there’s also a contest to build the tallest beer pyramid in the front rows on the glass at the arena. Surely this won’t go bad with Manitoba folk’s drinking habits, right? They’ll all make the right decisions and get a ride home after the game. Finally, we’re lucky to have a situation where the opposition has to get changed into their gear literally outside of the arena, and walk a mile and a half in full gear to get to the ice surface. I am optimistic that this will result in some tired opponents for the Aurora next year. RIP Dangel. See you on the other side, brother

Nash is one of those players that always manages to keep his composure. He has always had the uncanny ability to separate on and off the ice personalities. He is always fun and hyper and bubbly when off the ice, but as soon as his four paws hit the icy slick surface on skates, his entire demeanor changes. Landing hits on his opponents and taking the puck away, he is always super focused. Nash himself doesn’t really know how he does it, its just something that has always been there from the beginning. Maybe it’s the bit of ADHD that gives him the hyper focus that so many other people lack. That coupled with the prey drive of a husky really enables Nash to keep pushing himself on the ice. Just the rookie season alone he was averaging over 18 minutes per game. Most importantly, Nash always wants to hear “good boy” after each shift from the coaches. Motivation plays a big factor too.

Both prompts don't make sense for my player this week because QCC plays in a brand new NHL-level arena and my player being Ukrainian, I doubt she'd want to play in Belarus of all places. She'd probably judge her teammates who were willing to go, too.
So we'll use our suspension of belief even more than usual and pretend that QCC has to play in a college level arena for a season. Apparently, Université Laval has an arena and judging by the pictures, it is small. Elena probably wouldn't mind playing there in principle because things rarely bother her but going from a huge stadium to an ice that has like 5 rows of seats has got to be a bummer. I guess it's an opportunity to be closer to the fans but is it really worth it? Maybe the Citadelles should play in another city that has a decent arena while this whole arena mess gets sorted out, like Trois-Rivières or something.

Ryan Quintana Green has always been about business, and about that action. In fact, the title of this point task made him laugh a little because people sometimes called him "the businessman" growing up. Any time and any place, he was always ready to get down to business. When he is training, all eyes are on the prize. And in games, boy, don't even get me started, there's only one goal and that is protecting that puck and making his teammates better. In the weight room he is always trying to outdo himself, and can recite all of his personal records. Hockey is a good sport for someone like Ryan Quintana Green, because no matter what stadium or time zone they find them selves in, he is always laser focused, ready for the task at hand. Winning some hockey games, and hopefully some trophies too. So throw whatever at him, RQG is ready to handle it!

Hockey season is a marathon. It is a long grueling process. So you have to stay on top and be mentally prepared every game. I think the key is the routine leading up to the game. Every night before a game, I try to get a good nights rest. When I wake up, I drink a large ice water and eat the same breakfast (Eggs, Sausage, and a biscuit). Then I go for a light run about 5-10 minutes just to get the blood flowing. On the way to the rink, I listen to the same playlist. Raiden's Electric Hockey Hype. We run throw warm-ups/practice then I just chill out til gametime. Usually just listening to music. About an hour before game, I start my stretches and light warmup. I feel like keeping the same routine for every game keeps my head in the same state and sticks to the idea that every game is the same. Now once on the ice as the game progresses that is a different story.
