There are many players I'm excited to see during the All-Star game. First is my former teammate, Theo Kondos, as one of the oldest players there it'll be interesting to see how he does. Personally I'm hoping he not only keeps up, but skates circles around all the young guns there. Next there's Ben Der, who was the obvious choice for last player in. The guy was an absolute defensive machine for Toronto, so it'll be interesting to see how he does around all these offensive powerhouses he's playing with and against. Last is Max Manning, Seattle fell a lot in the standings this season but I feel like this is a guy who's elite and will only get better with more elite players playing around him. It will also be interesting to see him play alongside so many of his usual rivals from the Winnipeg Aurora when he's the only player that's representing Seattle.

In my opinion, the Western conference team is sorely lacking in a few different categories, mainly they're missing some huggers, heart eyes, and tunes. The best way to fix this would have been to include Ben Jammin on the team, as he is one of the leaders in all three of these categories. To accommodate this, I would put goalie pads on him and put him in net, then make the other two goalies on the team fight over who gets to be his backup. Joke's on them though because no matter who wins, Jammin is playing the entire time and they're watching from the bench. So they give up their weekend to be at the all-star game only to not be able to play. They can forget about playing in the skills competition too, Jammin is doing all the skater and goalie events. Fastest skater, hardest shot, longest save streak, you name it. Ben Jammin is going to win every single event.

a. When it comes to Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson, it is really tough to choose one. Both have asserted themselves as prime goal scorers in the league. There is no doubt that I would want either one of them to be lining up in front of me on the ice. Since I have to pick one, though, I'm going to go with Evil AllBran. One of the faces of the league, AllBran has shown time and time again that he possesses everything it takes to bag goals, and he just has that absolute IT factor. I'm not sure what it is but he's got it for sure! (1 TPE)
b. Borje Samuelsson will probably have a better showing than Adelie de Pengu, because an All Star game is much more suited towards offensive players. It becomes a show off central, and its easier to light up the scoreboard. Now yes, Pengu has put up some good offense too so i could easily be wrong, but I just see Borje Samuelsson being able to thread the needle to willing shooters all night. Offenses tend to run wild in these sorts of situations, and I see this being no different. (1 TPE)
3. I am so proud of my teammate, Erik Bergmark, on the All Star selection. He did so well this season. 47 goals is a whopping total on one of the middle of the road offenses in the league. It's so cool that he was able to play to his best and bury so many. He also helped out his teammates 32 times which is solid for a more pure scorer. Bergmark showed what it means to be the team leader in goals and with that total, he will have Baltimore fans eagerly waiting to see what he will accomplish next. I know he has the potential to do even better, which is even cooler. One of the best parts about Bergmark makes him even more deserving of this selection, and that is his off the ice character. He is always helping and encouraging his teammates to be their best selves, and plays like he wants them to be all stars too!
2c. I think the Western Conference has a slight edge here. Justin Time and John St. Ark have exactly what it takes to succeed on any big stage and that even includes the all star game. Sure it may seem trivial to many, but these two can definitely get it done. After all they have a guy named Justin Time. They'll be hoping that his strong play will continue just in time for an all star win, bringing that title back to the Western conference. Shoutout to both amazing netminders! (1 TPE)
2d. My player should have made the all star game for sure! Wait, but Bellamy, you did make the all star game. No, you're not catching my drift. My player had such a good season in the SMJHL that he should've been selected for the SHL All Star game. That good! This is all hyperbole of course, but what fun would these prompts be if we couldn't argue something crazy. Next season I'll put up an even better season so that they'll consider bending the rules LOL (1 TPE)
3. When long time veterans make the all star game, it always feels good for fans of that franchise. It is no different in this case than with Nikolaj Boyle, defenseman for the Baltimore Platoon. A player in this league since Season 58, it is only fitting for someone with Boyle's work ethic to be putting up great numbers and continuing to be a team leader. Even at his age, Nikolaj Boyle is still an elite passer and handler of the puck, so I am very confident that he will dazzle in the All Star Game. Being able to open up the ice for his teammates will help as he will try to make this a high scoring contest. After the saga with the stadium during the season, it will be nice for Baltimore fans to be able to watch the All Star Game and support Nikolaj Boyle and our other teammate Eric Bergmark as they aim to impress. I am sure that they can, and that they will! (3 TPE)

b. Borje Samuelsson lead all the league's defensemen in points this season with an incredible statline of 22-59-81 in 66 games played. However, the best defensive defenseman in this all star game is Adelie de Pingu, who put up 16-40-56 in the same number of games played while still recording the best average defensive performance of anyone who made primetime. Which of these defensemen will have a better showing this weekend and why?
c. The eastern conference will be lining up in front of netminders Casey Fantoben and Brick Wall, while the west will play in front of Justin Time and Jon St. Ark. Which team should be more comfortable with their backstop tandem? Why?
Borje Samuelsson may be talented at defense, but Adelie de Pingu is a pengiun. He lived and breathes ice and cold and all that so I really can't see how Samuelsson could be Pingu at his own game. I think this is a "bigger they are, harder they fall scenario." Pingu has it in the bag.

I know Brick and I know Justin. Wall is a member of S62, so Fiske was able to play against him often, and although his knowledge on goaltending is flimsy at best, he did his best to mentor Time on QCC. Wall is a little older but still hardy, but Time is in his Prime so it could go either way.

a. The goal scoring race this season ended in a tie between Evil Allbran and Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson, each potting a phenomenal 60 goals. They'll be lining up on opposide sides of the faceoff dot this all star game. Which of our league's best scorers would you rather have and why?
There are a variety of factors you could consider that would tip the scale in favour of either players, but ultimately I have to go with Lias Ekholm-Gunnarson. I mean all bran is already pretty terrible. Evil all bran would be so much worst, why would anyone willingly subject themselves to that? LEG has this in the bag.

Honestly its hard to argue with Borje's offensive production. Every team can bennefit greatly from a defensive defenseman but theres only so much you can do to makeup for not putting up those 30 extra points over a season. Given Pingu isnt even point per game, he could play well and go point-less in the process. It's a lot less likely for that to hapen to Samuelsson. Even on an off night he'll probably put up a few points.

The answer here is pretty obvious to me. I know that every goalie is here for a reason and they all had fantastic seasons but come on... would you rather play in front of an all star goalie or a literal Brick Wall? Sure these goalies are great but Brick Walls are never wavering. Have you read the 3 little pigs? Find me someone with a slapshot hard enough to penetrate a brick wall and I will eat my words but until then thats the tandem im lining up in front of.

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, what makes their game special, and why are they going to utterly dominate this event? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, then and only then may you pump your own tires.)
Going to talk about the juniors because thats where I'm currently at, but I'm really proud of my recently former teammate Smurfunkle Dothe for making the j all star game. Making one of those teams has always been a goal of mine before i age out of the league and while I haven't managed to achieve that yet, I'm really happy to see a teammate that I've spent my entire career with so far get recognized for all his hard work. He doesnt always believe in himself or put himself on the same pedestal as other prospects but the all star game nomination should dispel any notion that Dothe is bound to be a star in the league. The great thing about him at the games is he's such a big jack of all trades that I could easily see him excelling in just about any of the skills events as well as the allstar game itself. Maybe next season we can both get lucky enough to find a way to the allstar game.

I would rather have Lias Ekholm Gunnarsson on my team, and not just because he is on the team already, but we in Winnipeg don't like to have evil people on our team. We rather have Ekholm Gunnarsson who is wiling to wait in the Dunkin' Donuts line daily to get the whole team some food. This is dedication that I dont see AllBran doing (atleast not for us)

The Eastern conference wins this matchup easily as they have no one else but the legendary Brick Wall in the net. As you know by now, Wall and myself have been drafted right after eachother and both are without a cup. But he had the better save stats compared to me, so here I am now talking like he's some kind of god in hoping to have some of his sim luck come to me.

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, what makes their game special, and why are they going to utterly dominate this event?
So he's not my teammate yet but he is on Baltimore who owns my rights so I'm counting that as my teammate, that player is of course Erik Bergmark. Bergmark has a distinct recognition of being the youngest player in this season's All Star game, making the All Star game in his rookie season! It was definitely deserved for Bergmark who had 79 points including 47 goals. His pure offensive game should lead him to be a crowd favorite during the game. What makes him so special is his ability to get open and put pucks in the net. He uses a good mix of speed and strength to find his spot and beat his man to it. He has been known to put up some highlight reel hits even though defense isn't really his forte. All in all, Bergmark is the perfect All Star type player, a goal scorer who always brings the crowd to their feet.

Which of these defensemen will have a better showing this weekend and why?
I think Samuelsson will have a better game between the 2 defensemen. An All Star game is all gas and no breaks meaning it very heavily leans towards offense so the defenseman who excels on offense should have the better game. 81 points is a great amount for a defenseman and should really shine in this fast paced game.
c. The eastern conference will be lining up in front of netminders Casey Fantoben and Brick Wall, while the west will play in front of Justin Time and Jon St. Ark. Which team should be more comfortable with their backstop tandem? Why?
Its hard not to root for the tandem of Justin Time and Jon St. Ark. St. Ark is one of the oldest players in the All Star and is the oldest goalie to play and I really respect that. State wise Fantoben and Wall are the better tandem but St. Ark is a proven winner and Time had a great season in his right. All that being said the East have the better goalies and should be an advantage even if only a small one.

I would have to say Lisa Ekholm-Gunnarsson would be my choice. Obviously both of these players are very solid choices so if I had to choose one, It would be Ekholm-Gunnarsson. LEG is 3 years younger so has alot more life left in the tank. And I think a tad more well-rounded.

All-Star games are always about offense. So my money is on Borje Samuelsson. I think being better offensively will shine more against some of the leagues best and Samuelsson is the best at it this season. Defensively it would be hard to limit such superstars from scoring. So Pingu, while I think is great, will have a harder task this All-Star game. -62 words

I would say the eastern conference has a slight edge here. While Justin Time did lead the league in Wins, Brick Wall and Casey Fantobens lead in GSAA and combined for 10 shutouts. Casey Fantobens is also the Challenge Cup winning goaltender with Buffalo. So that is a big confidence booster as well.

Well right off the bat, I would say that Erik Bergmark is a great pick. He is a rookie that leads Baltimore in Points and Goals. That alone is a pretty great feat to accomplish but his goal total (47) is 9th among all SHL players. 47 goals is also a Baltimore record surpassing 42 by Karl Krashwagen in S58. It is only the 3rd time a player has reached the 40 goal mark in Baltimore Platoon history. It is an understatement to say that Bergmark was a good pick. Bergmark will be in the All-Star game for seasons to come.
And as a snub, I would say that Grogu Mandosson is easily the biggest snub. 4th in the league in assists and 10th in the league in points. It is a shame that a season performance like this completely ignored. The Jeff Darr Award winner (which he has won serveral times) definitely deserves a spot in the All-Star once again.

This one should be pretty easy to be honest with you. As much as Evil AllBran is an amazing player with an amazing stat line, Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson just got him beat with more points overall. Since they both have 60 goals, I have decided to judge this by the amount of overall points and while Evil has 62 assists to go with the 69 goals for 122 points, Lias has a very nice 69 assists for 129 points.
Task 2.b:
This is a hard one. Basically it asks you what you prefer, a high scoring defenseman with lower average defense stats, or a high average defense stats defenseman with lower scoring. However I am going to say that Adelie de Pingu will have a better showing over Borje Samuelsson, just because I think Adelie overall has stats that are much more important to a defenseman. Like I said this is a toss up, but I'll just go with the more traditional answer.
