Dunno who needs to hear this but if you want to call yourself an “ally” to LGBTQ+ people, that doesn’t mean “passively accepting of people’s identities.” Allyship isn’t this bare minimum “yeah sure I don’t care, love who you love.” Allyship is active, it’s using your voice to speak up for people whose voices are frequently silenced, it’s holding the people around you responsible for their behavior, it’s calling out the shitty stuff when you see it. Anything less than that is claiming a label you don’t live up to.
