This season we had two players from the Buffalo Stampede make the all star roster being Konstantin Selich and Casey Fantobens. Both deserving of the spot but I am going to write about Konstantin Selich. It is always good to see him make the all star roster as he is easily our leader on the ice for us forwards. Our game relies so heavily on his ability to perform every single game and he is such a hard worker to be able to consistently get the most out of every possession. This season he was ale to score 45 times, generated 59 assist, and played stellar defense that helped lead the Stampede to a 47 win season when I think many thought that we were going to take a step back as our roster continues to age a it. On a more personal note, I enjoy seeing Tomen continuing to find success with his player. He is one of the hardest working users out there and I'm glad to see it pay off in his player once again. WC: 178 +3 Code: 5. Written, 3 TPE, Last Men In (150 words min.) If backup goalie was for some reason a position on the all star roster, I think our backup Nina Tucker would be an absolute shoe in for the spot and would be deserving of the last man (or girl in this case) in. Tucker was able to hold an astounding record of 10-1-1 this season with a save percentage of 0.915 to go with a GAA of 2.39. If a starter pulled numbers like these, they could quite literally have a MVP case on their hands. Of course, it does not work like that but I think it is fun to look at how backup goalies do because they are often times looked at an easy win for the opposing team or sometimes the team will throw in the towel that night without having their main goalie in the net but they are somewhat like unslung heroes. Tucker got us the wins when Fantoens needed the rest and was a big help in us getting 47 wins this season. WC: 169 +3

https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3441332 3. Written, 3 TPE, The Teammate One (150 words min.) Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write about your team's candidate for last man in instead.) Logan Webb was a huge help this season and for him to make the all-star team in his final season down in the juniors with me is fitting. We acquired him during the offseason to help with our first line and to make a run at the playoffs. What we got was a monster of a winger and a huge help in Maine on our title run. To simply put, if we did not sign Webb in the offseason the Timber would not be 4-star cup champs. He deserves every bit of that all-star nod and then some. What a season it was with his 92 points and 44 goals during the season. He showed up even more hot in the playoffs when his team needed him the most. It's a shame we only got one season with him but he will be off to the SHL and making a lot more all-star games in the future. You can count on that. 162 words +3 TPE

Written, up to 4 TPE - Shiny Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 topics related to the All Star Game to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. I think the trio from the western conference of Winter, Surkhi-Ze'ev, and Ekholm-Gunnarsson will easily score more than their eastern conference counterparts. Edmonton and Winnipeg have won the two most recent challenge cups and I think it'll be much easier for the champs to find chemistry and easily keep scoring at their cup-winning paces. b. I think the all star game provides a perfect opportunity to mix things up a bit and play with the excellent players of the league that you don't usually get a chance to form a line with. Obviously it's still nice to try and win the game, but mixing up the lines a bit and splitting up the teammates will make the game more dynamic to watch or participate in. c. Time and Brzeczyszczykiwicz definitely have the upper hand here. As mentioned in one of my earlier responses, coming to the all-star game off the back of a cup win is huge for confidence. Justin Time is the best goaltender in the league and Grzegorz is a more than capable backup. This answer is closer than the others however, since Karsikko and Fantobens are both extremely talented as well. d. This is going to be a bit of a tough sell. Kevens is nearing the end of his career and while he still had a very solid season, his numbers aren't as high as the top players of the league. If there's one selling point to try and get Kevens into the all-star game, it would be the fact that he probably deserved one or two more appearances than he got in his prime and they'd let him in this season for pity.

Bank Manager Posting Freak Quote:1. Milestones, up to 3 TPE.https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3441358 Quote:3. Written, 3 TPE, The Teammate One (150 words min.)The answer is obviously Shoyo Hinata, the shining star on our team who nailed a spot in the All-Star game. Hinata's a force to be reckoned with on the ice, and his selection was a no-brainer. His skills are top-notch, making him a standout player in every game we've played. Why was he an obvious choice? Well, besides being a scoring machine, Hinata's agility and playmaking abilities are off the charts. He's got this knack for turning a seemingly ordinary play into a highlight reel moment. Opponents struggle to keep up with his speed, and his scoring record speaks for itself. As for expectations in the All-Star Game? I'm betting on Hinata to bring the heat. He's going to showcase his dazzling skills, probably pull off some jaw-dropping moves, and undoubtedly contribute big time to our team's success in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up stealing the show and leaving everyone in awe of his talent. Keep an eye on Hinata; he's bound to make this All-Star Game one to remember. Quote:Which player(s) should your teammate in the all star game be on a line or pairing with? Why? Is it because the all-stars you chose are similar to the ones they play with on your team, or different? What combination will really unlock your teammate's game? (If you are the only player on your team who made the all star list so far, write this task about your team's candidate for last man in!)Eel from the Inferno would be wicked teamed up with Iskrandrov from the Steelhawks and Koivu from the Forge in the All-Star Game. Picture this: Eel's killer playmaking vibes, Iskrandrov's snipe-the-net skills, and Koivu's aggressive forecheck game all coming together. It's like a dream team, you know? They're from different squads, so it's not your usual lineup. But that's what makes it rad. Eel's used to his Atlanta crew, but tossing him in with Iskrandrov and Koivu? That's some next-level unpredictability that'll keep everyone on their toes. Eel dishes out those sick assists, Iskrandrov buries the puck, and Koivu's throwing hits and causing chaos. It's a mix of styles that could seriously shake things up in the All-Star Game. Imagine the plays they'd pull off – it's not just about their individual skills, it's about the chemistry. This trio could be the game-changer, bringing a laid-back but lethal vibe to the All-Star action. Keep your eyes on these three; they might just steal the show.

Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. The advantage has to go the West top line of Winter, Surkhi-Ze'ev, and Ekholm-Gunnarsson. The Edmonton duo were arguably the two best forwards in the league this season, and unlike Lacksamus or Hinata, you simply cannot make a case that the line was carried by one player as both Winter and Surkhi-Ze'ev put up similar numbers, with Winter being a slightly better scorer, and Surkhi-Ze'ev being a more physical presence. Adding Ekholm-Gunnarsson, one of the best two-way forwards and a top tier scorer and playmaker simply puts this line over the top. (101 words) c. The paper tiger believers are going to say that Fantobens has the worst save percentage and goals saved above average of any of the four goalies and go for the West tandem. This of course ignores the fact that Karsikko ranks first among the group in both those categories, but furthermore completely ignores the fact that Casey Fantobens has proven to be among the most clutch goalies of all time and steps his game up in a way no one else can match on the biggest stages. "But... but jbay, Justin Time just won a championship with Edmonton that went to 7 games in the finals! That's pretty clutch!" Wow, you're right, it must be hard playing goalie for a team that averaged nearly SIX goals per game. "But Time amassed a 7.74 GSAA in the playoffs!" Wow that's pretty good... how much did Fantobens have when Buffalo won in S71? What's that... he had 31.45 GSAA? Case closed. (165 words) Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, The Teammate One (150 words min.) Konstantin Selich has once again been selected to be one of the representatives to the All-Star game for Buffalo to the surprise of no one. Selich has been a mainstay at both the All-Star game and near the top of the leaderboards for many seasons now. He has consistently placed himself as one of the most productive forwards in the league season after season and it is no coincidence that he has done it again. Perhaps most impressively, Selich has almost always done this without the benefit of All-Star linemates, and does so with significant production at 5 on 5, on the power play, and even shorthanded. Often times playing with different linemates on special teams, Selich remains a threat regardless of who is on the ice with him as has been the case for a while now. It is no surprise to see his name in the All-Star game once again as he has been pacing Buffalo's offense for ages now and always kept them near the top of the standings. (177 words)

3. Teammate - 3 tpe Lias Ekholm Gunnarsson, the name might ring a bell to some of you. And you should, because he scored like 125 points the past season for the Winnipeg Aurora's. If he scored 10 goals more, he would even be at a goal per game, but still without that, 56 goals in a season (which is just 66 games to begin with) is insane. So Lias Ekholm Gunnarsson (or LEG as he's called in Winnipeg) was a true most valuable player for the Aurora this season. As 19.3% of the shots fired by him actually went in, and sure, while this is not a level like Evan Winter, Benjamin Surkhi, but they had two high scorers on the team with more points as LEG, while LEG almost carried everything on his own back. LEG is the reason Winnipeg kept their season alive, and deserves the chance in the spotlight of this all star game. 8. Last one in - 3 tpe The Winnipeg Aurora deserved to have another 100 point plus player also in the line up in Mikko Rashford. Mikko Rashford scored another season with triple digits, but also was the second highest forward on the team when you look at the plus minus rating with 44. His 39 goals and 62 assists, but even higher as Lias Ekholm Gunnarsson is the offensive game rating, which was a 90! This is a (shared) league high rating, so Rashford definitly deserved to be in. But now instead Reed Kobo got in, and while he did great for his team, he was more as 10 points away from Rashfords point total. So despite a fair pick from a Panthers fan point of view, the Aurora fans would have prefered to send Rashford or even the world widely loved Lord Farquaads to the all star game. Now it's just one Winnipeg forward and two Winnipeg defenseman, and with their being 2 person rooms in the hotels, it will be sad to have one of them sleep alone with an Aurora friend for the night. Well, if I am allowed to include swiss team mates from the IIHF I would happily pick my boy Aneeqs Zopf character cause we are both defenders, ironically not for the swiss but still, it would be great to see us paired together in all star if we were ever chosen and on the same team. I think it would be very fun to make up a lines worth of D for an all star team. If I am not allowed to pick a swiss team mate then on Buffalo I would be happy to be with any of them to be honest. Selich would just score and score and score which is always lovely or Ty Murphy could be a good laugh. Speaking of a good laugh at all stars, why not the man himself. KEKW. KEKW is a character and a half and bringing literal laughter to the all star game? You know what that is? That is wholesome right there! [163 words] + 3 Code: 5. Written, 3 TPE, Last Men In (150 words min.) I would like to see Chimkin Wing make an all star at his very old age. Any reason why? Well, it would be cool to see a fairly low TPE player make the all star game for a surprise. I guess he could get voted in but that is a crapshoot or a small % chance of happening or hell maybe a big campaign to pull off. Through skill would be more impressive or stats more so. If not him then maybe more goalies should make it? I have no concept of what the normal amount is but there are quite a lot of teams so I am assuming only a small % of goalies make it. Maybe 1 goalie per 10 mins would be better so more make it to the game and goalies have something to look forward to in this engine. I do not know but that would be my other choice for making All star game so also the Buffalo goalie to make it! [163 words] + 3 That is 9 total so we gucci for the 8 TPE.

If I was the coach, I think I would keep them the same unless the players wanted to mix it up. Chemistry build over the regular season and playoffs is hard to compete with, and this isn't a situation where the pair underperforms. For the All-Star Game, I would not rock the boat too much. c. As a New England player part of me feels I have to say Fantobens and Karsikko, but honestly, i would like to play in front of Justin Time. Hes just so good, and I do not think that Brzęczyszczykiewicz will be bad enough to offset Justin being light's out. I just don't see it. Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, The Teammate One (150 words min.) Code: 4. Written, 3 TPE, Go Team! (150 words min.) With the way the sim works, I would argue, provided that team chemistry carries over, that they should stay with line mates if possible. Otherwise I would just look for like pairing. I mean when you got guys like Evan winter and Ivan Lackasmus on the ice, you can just kind of feed them the puck more so. On your defensive pairings I would feel chemistry is more so important, but defensively minded defensemen are more likely to get snubbed for All-Star so composition still needs to be looked at. With all that in mind I think you would have to put Seamus and Ivan on the same line. Ivan is the offensive threat that the whole league knows and Seamus has been a good two way defenseman. Yea he maybe more offensively minded but he was 6th in shots blocked so you can prolly put whoever with those two and it would work out fine, you know? |
