Dear Stephanie B. Smithson,
I couldn't agree more with your rant about how the Buffalo messed up by trading away Isaac Forty-One when they should have traded away Jarrod Lakemore. I mean, what were they even thinking? Everyone with a real hockey brain knows that this season is a just a mirage, and Lakemore's production is due to plummet as soon as next season. Lakemore's value will never be higher than it is right now, and it is the perfect opportunity to sell high on a young player who got on a ridiculous hot streak with an unsustainable shooting percentage and is due for some serious regression to the mean. Every empty headed fan looks at the numbers and is like "WOW over a goal per game? Leading the league in goals? Only in his fourth season and still improving his game?" but what they should be saying is "WOW leading the league in PIMs? How can we build around a star player who can't even stay on the ice? Already been in 2 fights this season?". This guy is a third line grinder at heart and Buffalo will be making a terrible mistake if they keep trying to force him as a 1C. BTW, it's funny seeing people with less twitter followers than you try to tell you why you're wrong. Sincerely, Jared Pondless

It's no secret that Base Pack has been struggling as of late. The once stellar top of him game goalie seems to be going through a patch, and one glaring issue that has been dogging Philly all season has been the ability to quickly move the puck up and out of the zone. To win the dump in, and relieve pressure, rather than what has been currently happening - Offense wins the battle and a scoring opportunity ensues. We need to relieve pressure. So this drill has simply been getting Pack to practice stopping the dump in, and then working with the different defensemen on how to move forward. How do they like to recieve the puck, and on what hand. This should hopefully allow for a quick pass out and exit of the zone, something that the Forge have really been struggling, but it looks like this year they can't hide that deficiency behind a red hot offense any more.

Option 2: I’ve always loved to volunteer as the player that would shoot on the goalie when my team’s goalies and the goalie coach wanted to work on some things. That leads me to have a good relationship with the goalies on every team I played on. After all this time, I’ve developed some drills that we do together after we are done with what the goalie coach wanted to work on. The main drill we do is a rim and pass competition. We go one after the other. The goalie starts from his blue paint, the goal is to secure the puck along the board and then pass it straight into of the many mini nets that we have set up close to the board in our own zone and in the neutral zone. I do the same drill after, but I start in front of the net with my back turn when he rims the puck along the boards. The winner is the one that can feel the mini nets in the least attempt and the loser usually pay for dinner the next time we are on the road.

As Atticus gets older and his skills begin to regress, he needs to put in more work to keep those skills at an elite level. He can no longer focus solely on advanced drills. He now needs to put some time into the fundamentals to keep them fresh. To do that, Atticus works with his fellow forwards as well as goalies Jon St. Ark and Bernard Lodge which also helps them sharpen their own skills.
One of the drills that allows Atticus to work on a number of fundamentals is a variation of the pit drill. In this drill, he can work on his puck control, puck handling, puck protection, stickhandling, getting to open space, shooting, and passing. Three or four players gather inside a faceoff circle with four other players set up outside the circle. On the whistle, each player inside the circle needs to maintain control of the puck while jockeying for position facing the goalie. The players outside the circle need to quickly pass a puck around the circle without going inside of it. On the next whistle, the player inside the circle that was able to gain the position facing the goalie must accelerate toward the goalie and take a shot. Likewise, the player outside the circle that ends up with the puck must also accelerate toward the goalie and take a shot. [227 words]

Dusty Rhodes always tries to help out the team goalies. He is one of the best in the league in screening and scoring from the front of the net. Screeners are always tough for goalies so it helps to practice taking shots while being screened. It allows them to make quicker decisions on shots coming in. Not only does it help when they're being screened but the quickness being developed even helps them react more quickly when they aren't being blocked. The goalies love it and Rhodes also gets to practice redirecting the puck as well so it benefits everyone. The coaches also are pleased as it shows Rhodes commitment to helping his teammates get better in there games as well as his own. They feel more confident in these players now when placed in those situations. It particularly helps the Spec tres young up and coming goalie who might not have seen slot of screening in the minors and helps develop the quickness needed in the much faster shl.

Okay, boomer, listen up: Jaden Tanner is the best player to ever play hockey. Period. He's so good, he refers to himself in the third person. He's so good, other players ask him for an autograph. He's so good, he makes the SHL look like the SMJHL.
When the opponent team isn't stunned by his radiance, they're cowering in fear from his sheer physical presence. This isn't something that can be taught. This comes purely from breathing greatness and sweating excellence. Jaden Tanner is a thoroughbred the league has never seen before and won't see again until he has kids and they enter the league. Who are you to demand he be traded? You wouldn't know a hockey stick from a hole in the ground. Whatever that means. Clearly, Dragons management recognizes what they have in Jaden Tanner. A superstar. A legend. The best damn player to ever lace them up. And you're still on the couch, cheeto-stained fingers, saying he needs to go.

Sad Ketchup tends to do a lot of drills with his goaltenders during practice time whether its drills crashing the net, shots, rebounds, screen and more. Often Sad Ketchup starts off with basic shots just to warm the goalie up. Then he moves onto shots off the rush aka skating down towards the goalie. When Sad Ketchup does drills with his goalies he tries to shoot everywhere to give the goalie the best possible looks and reps. Next sad Ketchup would begin a rebound drill. This drill Ketchup shoots purposely into the pads and usually the rebound pops back to him and he goes for a deke or a shot and the goalie must react. After that the crashing the net drills occur, which involve more players, this is obvious where a shot is taken and the players rush the net to try and score. Often Sad Ketchup likes to play zone hockey setting up the nets close together for am mini game which can be difficult for goalies with constant action.

Carolina just NEEDS to trade this guys bum-ass, Kraken can NOT win with this guy. Who needs a to play for the future by keeping a sophomore, youth is lame. The big J needs tougher players. Guy can't even win a faceoff more than 50% of the time. And don't even look at the +/-. Anyone who likes Roger Murdock is just a big old nerd that wants to make the league soft. If players like Murdumb get to play their careers out in Carolina without getting traded, I'm no longer a fan! The straw that breaks my camels back is having to see this guy pick up takeaways for a quarter of the game. If it was legal I'd want this guy on the 4th line. Life was so much better when he was a defensemen. Is there a reason he's not in Canada right now? This goon shouldn't even be in the country. If anyone has any video of Murdock doing anything useful, I beg you. Send da video. #FreeCarolina Quick 170 words for ya, prompt 1 also

Everyday in practice, Denebor Milasch and Stan Free go through a series of drills to work on various different facets of goaltending. They usually start by doing extensive stretching both in the locker room and on the ice to make sure they are limber and avoid injuries. The first drill is usually low shots. Working on butterfly style saves and kicking from post to post. Next they will work on glove drills. Working to make sure they make glove saves without giving up rebounds. They will then usually work on some non-goalie drills. Working on things like skating, balance, and stick handling. They will sometimes race just to see who is faster in their full gear just for fun. It's a big bragging rights competition. While they do not take part in the normal passing drills they do work with the defensemen to help with outlet passing. Near the end of practice they will usually do a short scrimmage facing Denebor and Stan against each other in a game situation. The forwards will be randomly selected for each team each time to make sure both goalies get a chance to practice against various different shot styles and play styles. Thank you @Ragnar for the Sig!

Hello Sir! This take of yours finally pushed me over the edge. As a long-time fan of yours, I have to finally speak out. I've already been worried about you for a while, but demanding us to trade Jagrbomb is just crazy. You probably don't know me, but I actually live on the same street as you, so I see you almost daily. I've noticed that recently you've been wandering around the neighbourhood looking very lost, and often just yelling nonsense to people. Just last week I heard you stopped an old lady and shouted that you have the power to get them traded. Traded where? To a new retirement home? I am seriously worried about you, my friend. I think you are delusional and should get some help. At first I thought you had just let the media fame get to your head, but now I realize that you are in need of medical treatment. I know you are going to deny this, and I get it. But believe me brother, I'm on your side and only want good things to you! |
