As is the case for many, Violet Stoica's rookie season was largely uneventful. She was not expecting to blow the league's expectations out of the water, but steadily improved and increased her draft stock based on potential. Her intention of developing into an excellent all-rounder type forward is in full swing; she graded overall well defensively but had grading hurt by the amount of penalty kill she was asked to play. Scoring was unfortunately, as a result, not her forte -- and she remains a second-to-third line option at centerwoman for the Regina Elk. With the SHL Draft rapidly approaching, there is at least something for the young Swedish/Romanian center to look forward to, all while improving her prospects for moving up in the rotation with a heavy training regimen in the offseason.
She hopes to become stronger and better at dispossessing opposing forwards while setting up her wingers with favorable shots on goal -- benchmarks she only partially delivered on this season. The goal-scoring? Eh, we'll figure that out as we go. ![]() Thanks @Amidships!

I would say for Ongo I didn't really set any expectations. I know how these things go and setting expectations for yourself with FHM being the deciding factor is just asking for disappointment. So I just went with the flow this season, and honestly I'll keep building Ongo to be a decent two way defender and hope for the best, because again, FHM does not really give a shit how you built your player or what points you put where. FHM gonna FHM. Also I don't really know anything about fhm or how any of it works, nor do i know what a good build looks like. i am basically a fraud of a co-gm who contributes almost nothing to buffalo. but i get gm passes so that's sweet. so anyway, for next season, i hope to have a positive plus minus and possibly lead the team in points for defenders, but i am not holding my breath.

Overall Groaty's First season in the SMJHL went ok there were plenty of ups and downs for both Groaty and the Vancouver organization as a whole. Groaty had his first career fight and his first career lost fight in a game that culminated with him getting 15 minutes in penalties. This left him sitting near the top of the standings in penalties for most of the season.
There was plenty of inconsistency in Groaty's game in the final playoff series against Anchorage though Groaty Finished the Series Leading all of Vancouver in DGR, Takeaways and finished second on the team in both hits and shot blocks. Even more surprisingly he finished 3rd on the team with 17 shots. Disappointingly the season ended in a game 7 loss after Vancouver couldn't close out the 3-1 series lead. With the only solace being Anchorage went on to lose 4-1 in the next round to Quebec. For future Years we are hoping to see Groaty develop more consistency and help lead Vancouver back to the playoffs. ![]() SMJHL GM Senior Member
Honestly Grondlund was a defensive powerhouse which was the plan. Plus Minus being what it is, Gronlund was constantly up and being an issue for the other team. The goal for next season is to take these numbers and make them even better. Focusing on creating more opportunities for his team. Now that he's been drafted to Calgary as well and will have Froyo and Sonja on his team, he's gonna look to build the relations and team work skills with them. The plan for the Big Norwegian Boy is to get bigger. To become a true shutdown defensemen capable of facing any top line threat in the league.
Fred would love to produce a little more on offense to assist the team as needed. Having scored a few goals last season including a few game winners. Grondlund is also hoping to rack up a few more fights and fight for our top stars. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
Edouard Lavoie felt fairly confident about his season, though he felt like he could always do more to help his team succeed. He did very well against much senior players, but he attributes that to the great chemistry with his linemates. Being able to play with Mia Lavoie and JJ Frankie JJ made Lavoie's time on the ice feel easy. He knew exactly where to put the puck for his teammates, and he also knew where to be so that they could get the puck to him. Lavoie will need to keep getting better offensively to really push his scoring to help the team. He'll also need to work on his technique for the face off circle as he'll be going up against more and more veterans. Lavoie scored several excellent goals in the season, a few of them were game winning and he will always treasure those. Edouard is already working on getting better for next season, and was excited to be selected for one of the Canadian teams for the offseason WJC tournament.

I feel like overall, Carter Crutchfield's first season has been a success. My goal for the first season was to make playoffs and the Anchorage Armada did make playoffs, so that was a huge success. However, the Armada didn't do much damage in the playoffs, only making it to the second round. But overall, Crutchfield had a good first season, being able to contribute to the Armada success. It could have gone better, but I feel like Crutchfield has a lot of time in the SMJHL to have good season and chase down some personal statistics, while also trying to chase down a Four Star Cup. Will it actually happen? Time will tell.
All I know now is that Crutchfield and the Anchorage Armada are looking to continue what they started last season, and hopefully make it further into the playoffs next season, which will hopefully culminate with a Four Star Cup. 154. ![]() Registered Posting Freak

Stats have never been my primary focus in sim leagues, but overall I think Mia Lavoie had a pretty respectable rookie season for the Timber. Despite having a little less ice time, she still put up 37 points and made her small but mighty physical presence known on the wing by throwing 128 hits. She also got her first taste of playoffs which is pretty awesome for a rookie. That said, she also had a few downer moments, giving the puck away far often than she took it away, but it's a learning process. Going into next season she's all capped out so I expect her performance in the J's will just continue to improve, sim gods permitting. Individually I'm having a lot of fun watching her, Edouard Lavoie and JJ Frankie JJ play on the same line together and hope in the coming season(s) they collectively take the league by storm. And if they don't and we end up kind of sucking in the sim that's ok, it'll still be fun. But I expect it'll probably go pretty well.

Mary's first season in the J was pretty cool. She made a questionable impression on her teammates, as they quickly learned that her eating habits involved a lot of popcorn and she played some of the worst music imaginable when they were unfortunate enough to let her have the aux. However, on the ice she played about as well as a SMJHL rookie could hope. She was, in all honesty, quite happy with her numbers in the regular season. The team wasn't the greatest, but that was through no fault of any individual player on the Elk. It was moreso a reflection of where the franchise was as a team. It was going to be a rebuilding year, we all knew this. We did not know, however, that Mary was going to put up an All Time Bad playoff performance. Those postseason numbers are just brutal, and will certainly light a fire in the soul of Mary Hollywood as she looks to return a much stronger player in season two of her career.
Please find her comments on the postseason attached. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sig by sulovilen! ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak
As a late draft pick, expectations were pretty low for Henri Losanov. An another goalie was selected by his team the Regina Elk before him. What would happen? Would he get a chance to battle for the number one spot? Would he be a backup his entire junior tenure? Is he trade bait? So many questions at the start of the season and now so many answers after year one. It went so well, the young goalie tandem split the starts pretty evenly and they are pushing each other to get even better. Henri couldn't have end up in a better situation, great relation with Roman Cechmanek. The team was rebuilding so no pressure on his shoulders, faced a lot of shots. He needs to improve his consistency, sometimes he looks like Patrick Roy out there but more often than not he plays like playoffs Patrick Lalime. Getting his first shutout was the highlight of the season.

Savva has been given an amazing opportunity to come to a whole new world, North America, to play the sport he loves. He is beyond thrilled to be able to compete against the greatest players in the world and truly wonders if his dream will come true and if he will one day don an SHL sweater. Right now a lot is unknown in Savva's world as he does not yet have a home in the SMJ, but he does not fear the unknown for Savva understands that there is work going on behind the scenes and that he will land with a team soon. The question remains though, Who will it be that picks him up? Are there any believers in a defense-minded Russian? Will they trust him on the backend to protect the lead? Savva cannot be focused on what others might think of him, and instead must remain concentrated on what he can control - himself.

Before I check my stats, I think the season went well. I performed about as expected for a defensive rookie. Not very many points but I know I did well with TA/GA and that makes me very happy. The team suffered in general from being young but that just means we will be very strong in a couple of seasons. Now that I've checked my stats I am very OK with them. I shot a lot more than I expected, perhaps from bad offensive knowledge. But I am really, really happy with 46 TA compared to 14 GA, something I really want my player to be good at. As for hits and blocks, two other core stats for me I am very sad that I do not have higher. Point wise, 16 points in 66 games are almost one point every fourth game and I think I can be proud of that as a defensive minded player. For next season I have looked to improve my physicals and defensive attributes while also looking a bit more offensively minded. I really hope this next season will be a great breakthrough for hits and blocks and maybe scoring around the same amount of points again.

For a baseline level I think I achieved a successful rookie season. Coming into a roster that already had a solid core meant I would likely not have that much ice time compared to the stars of the team so my expecations were in check. As long as I was able to come in and make some contributions with the time I had I would be happy. Overall I think Slowpoke was able to do just that by showing up and making a positive impact overall. My goal as a player was just to get my tpe earnings in each week and put the team in a better spot than it was a week before. That was accomplished and I find myself at TPE capped for my sophomore season so I'm excited for that prospect. The best part of the season for me would be getting to see us have some success in the playoffs. A round 1 win was exciting and to do it in 5 games (Which I believe was the quickest of the round) was the cherry on top. Can't wait for next season's start and see what the team and Slowpoke are able to accomplish.

For my very first season, I'm looking to score. At least 35 goals have a 545 assist. Beat up at least 10 people a game and then try to Bang. Emma Watson cause she's a baddie dude. She killed in the Harry Potter movies and now she's killing her on Broadway. It's a game

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been one full season already!
Feels like just yesterday I strapped on my pads for the first time and flailed around in the ground as my dad took slap shots at me. My rookie season was great! I took in the starting role as a rookie and helped lead my team to a playoff berth. I surpassed the expectations I set for myself, I didn’t even think I was gonna be the starter. I think the moment I’ll remember the most is being awarded the Yukon Malamutes “Mount Logan Award” for being the best goalie on the team. That’s my first piece of hardware for the trophy cabinet and I’m hoping there’s plenty more to come. Another moment I’ll remember well is draft night. I had to wait awhile to hear my name get called, but the wait was worth it. I’ll be a steal of the draft when I retire a Chicago Syndicates legend. ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
When looking to improve for next season, Wizard looks at one thing and that is to improve his handwork and eye coordination. There were countless times where players were able to see through Wizards crafty tricks due to a lack of being able to make sneaky plays with the puck. This coming season Wizard wants to have an even better season assists wise and looks to hone his skills of sleight of hand by going back to his roots. When looking at what glorious moments he had though, we look at the hat trick game he had in his first season and the fact that we was one of the lead contenders for rookie of the year. Next we look at what he really thought he would accomplish. Looking back, wizard was very optimistic but not this optimistic as he blew out any numbers he thought he was going to get by a large margin due to the fact that Wizard found himself as a starter week one.
