pro tip: if somebody "suddenly" objects to a slur or some other derogatory term, there's a good chance it's not sudden at all and they have only just now felt comfortable enough to speak up about it. Create spaces where marginalized people feel comfortable to voice their opinions in the first place, and you won't have that.
