Written Task: How does your player train endurance and stamina? Which do they prioritize: endurance, strength, or skill training? What's the proper ratio between cardio and hard workout? As before, your player does not need to be correct. Feel free to write absolute madness, flex your knowledge of real-world athletic training, or anywhere in between.

Personally I think training for endurance and stamina is overrated! That is to say normal practice routines and game experience should plenty suffice in building up enough stamina and endurance to fit yourself just fine into a rotation. They say the best Defense is a good Offense, and similarly I say the best Endurance is a good Strength and Skills training routine. Cardio and other endurance comes naturally when your pushing your self to be the best at every aspect of being a strong and skilled athlete. Not to mention building endurance through those routes is much more akin to how your body actually reacts to in game situations. Sure running is fine for cardio endurance, but it's not quite as practical as pushing yourself in a drill. You gotta practice your drills when your gassed to be able to play the same way in a game. If you can shoot a puck with accuracy when you're endurance limit, you'll be just that much better in a game time situation.

Option 2
As mentioned before, Capsian Leevi jogs five miles regularly as a warmup to his workouts. In order to maintain his cardiovascular health and stamina, he also adds in once per week ten mile runs where he alternates between a steady pace and a sprint. This is all in addition to his swimming where he practices holding his breath for upwards of 3 minutes. This helps the body by improving its tolerance to carbon dioxide and breathe more efficiently at different Heart Rate zones. Before games, Caspian Leevi does long breath holds to bring his body into hypoxia which forces the body to release some of its reserves of red blood cells from the spleen, providing higher capacity to transport oxygen to the muscles. All of this leads to better performance with faster muscle recovery, which results in more stamina and endurance. Caspian trains the hardest on endurance, as he believes that being able to dig deep and close out shifts and games is more important than just having skill or strength.

I do not accept because I already know how to win in the playoffs in Edmonton and it's a skill issue of his that he hasn't been able to. Besides, Crosby's routine probably wasn't even his, Crosby got it from playing with Gary Roberts for two years, a guy who was notorious for his supreme physical fitness that allowed him to play into his 40s. Anyone can be fit, anyone can do enough squats or whatever. But winning is an attitude. Winning is something you learn from being in winning squads with winning players. Who, exactly, has McDavid played with for the Oilers that has won jack shit? I guess right now they have Corey Perry, but his single title was so long ago that George Bush was in the White House and the Buffalo Sabres were the best team in the league. Not my fault a LOSER team that TANKED and whose farm setup doesn't value winning has a LOSER mentality that ensures they will only ever LOSE, never win.

Training endurance and stamina, not too bad. What’s the point right? Well, you have to be able to go the whole game, and when scores are tied and we enter overtime, the difference of endurance and stamina is so important. The team with better endurance is more likely to get the win. The best way to up the endurance is to really push the cardio training. Keep training, low and slow at first and then build up longer and harder. This keeps you going for a full 60 minutes. You’ll be able to start really carrying the minutes and putting the team on your back. This isn’t exactly real world athletic training, it’s sim world training, and for my money, that’s even better. If we’re talking about becoming a better sim player, we aren’t going to apply real world technique. Get out of here with that stuff, we’re going all in on the simulated cardio, it’s easier, and the results are marginally better.

Personally, endurance and stamina is really important especially in one of the fastest sports in the world. Although shooting and passing skills are generally more trained and need to be on the brink of perfect to have star level performances, these skills can be used only because the players can skate fast enough and have above average stamina and endurance. Trainings for cardio is pretty simple honestly. Improvement can be achieved by long distance running when players don't want to go to the gym. If they want to take it to the gym which probably would give more developments specifically on cardio, then again simply you should go for the treadmill or any kinds of cycles in a pretty fast pace that you can maintain for a certain amount of time. Even though there are veterans that still dominate with slow-paced games, they develop new skills to counter their lack of stamina like hockey iq (which is very difficult to use efficiently). And in addition, these players still have above average or middle of the pack stamina which means when having below that, it will make you noticeably worse even with all of the skills.

Today was cardio day for the Buffalo Stampede, and some sporting magazine wanted to know, how this day looked like for the 3rd overall drafted player during the S71 draft, the left defender Furious Chicken. First off was of course a bit of warming up, this was quickly followed by some nice bit of running to make sure his endurance is still on an good enough level. After this came the first real workout, hitting the weights to make sure he stays as the strong defender he wants to be, and the team needs him to be to be at his best. After this the official training is over, but Chicken often took his bike and cycled around the city a bit, a habit he maintained from his birth nation of the Netherlands. Generally this was how a so called fitness day went for Furious Chicken at the Buffalo Stampede. Now to hope the article turns out nicely.

I train endurance and stamina the old fashioned way, by never stopping. I have been running on a treadmill since 1983. Back then treadmills were all the rage. Everyone was getting physical thanks to Olivia Newton John. And we all had the best fashion, no doubt. I took it to the extreme. I've been keeping a light jot on this treadmill for over forty years. I saw the challenger explosion from this treadmill. I even saw 9/11, which for me personally was when they tried to take my treadmill because it's "too old". Too old? You're too old! So what if I have to increase the speed by cranking a shaft like an old car window? So what if the belt is so frayed that I've been walking a tightrope style thin piece of thread for the better part of the 2020s? I was born to run on this treadmill. I will die on this treadmill.

Sad Ketchup is known for doing a lot of cardio for working out his endurance and stamina. Something Sad Ketchup does a lot in the offseason is going for runs in his community every day, multiple times a day. During the hockey season, Sad Ketchup continues to do runs in his community (weather dependent) if he can daily, but usually it will be like 2 to 3 times a week if he is lucky. Worse case scenario he is in the gym running the treadmill. Sad Ketchup also tends to like the elliptical on a low incline setting to help with building up endurance and stamina. Sad Ketchup tends to not take much rest days from cardio which likely is not good in the long run, it may take an injury to teach him a lesson, but so far he has been injury free and it appears to be working for him. In reality he should be doing way less cardio but he enjoys it and continues to do it.

Stamina, you want to talk about stamina!? It is a useless thing to train for as a hockey player. Endurance is right up there too. You don't believe me do you... Ok let me paint you a picture. In the wild there are animals that constantly run, they eat grass throughout Africa and are constantly on high alert. These animals are zebras, wildebeest, and other grazers. Great to be in top shape for games like basket ball, or soccer where you are always on the field going at 100 for 10 - 15 minutes at a time. But hockey we are only going hard for 30 to 45 seconds at a time at most for our minute long shift. When you look at short burst kill animals, the Cheatas, Lions. The one shot quick kill animals. They rest all day long until it is time for action. So I ask you, do you think as a hockey player, specifically a cherry picking sniping winger who doesn't worry about back checking or defensive play that I have to worry about any stamina? No, I just need to be ready when I get the call for an offensive start and to push hard for 30 seconds. Stamina...ridiculous.

Stamina, the worlds most perfect attribute. Now this does not mean you will be super fast, but you can stay at a higher level for a lot longer of a time. Training stamina can be quite difficult without the proper guidance. One of the things I do personally is to start slow. Skating? Stride as slow as you possibly can without missing a beat. Slowly quicken your pace until you reach a comfortable high speed. Stay at the speed for as long as possible. Do not stop abruptly when doing this training exercise, instead slowly decrease your speed until you come to a complete stop. You should stay at different speeds for "x" amount of time before increasing, or decreasing, your pace. Another thing you can do is type up some bullshit story on how to train your stamina for a simulated league and put the points you earn into to stamina attribute. That seems to work too.

I really think we are missing the point of all of these PTs. I am being woken up in the middle of the night and visited by hockey players that then give me secrets? And they just show up in my room hanging out until I wake up? Should I be leaving out snacks or something?

Seriously though - there are either drugs or mental health concerns here. It isn't so important what they say but the hallucinations are definitely something that should be addressed with a qualified professional. I have to imagine things like this should be taken very seriously if not drug induced. If drug induced, get off the fucking drug man. Shit is crazy.

Now with that being said I still need more words so I'll answer the question that was asked. Hell yeah I would tell him how to win in playoffs. 1) I get this amazing youth fountain and 2) mcdavid asking me for advice? He must be on drugs too.
