3. Secret Plans It’s never too early to start thinking about how you’re going to gain a competitive edge next season! How is your team going to go the extra mile to get wins next season? Is it a secret training regimen? Sneaky equipment modifications? Booby trapping the visiting teams’ locker room? Anything goes. I’m gonna start hiring goons to hide behind trash cans in the opposing locker rooms. There’s gonna be a bunch of little guys hanging around with slingshots and they’re gonna bully the opposing team. I don’t really expect them to do any harm, I’m not gonna train them on how to use a slingshot I’m just gonna give it to them so they’ll probably keep missing. They’re gonna get in their heads though, my henchmen are totally gonna mildly agitate the other team before they even get on the ice. If I’m feeling really freaky I might let them try to take pot shots on the opposing goalie during the game just for fun. Hockey needs more goons, and I’m bringing them back, but in the form of 4 foot tall mostly harmless little guys. Teams are gonna be scared to come to Nevada cause they’re just not gonna feel like dealing with my henchmen, they got nothing on my henchmen Word Count: 161 Code: 4. Funtimes You have been designated as the team's official Fun Director! Now, everyone is looking for some sort of fun activity where you all can spend an afternoon or day to chill, hang out and build some team spirit. Especially after a long and stressful season, what are your plans to ensure everyone has a great time? We here at the Battleborn are based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and when it comes down to fun times there’s really only one thing I ever got on my mind, really ever it’s all I think about, and that’s gambling. They call it addiction, I call it dedication, I’m gonna keep hitting casinos until I hit it big and win the huge money, and I’m bringing my teammates with me. There’s safety in numbers, the more of us there are the more potential for winnings there are and I’m taking full advantage of that. Also I don’t know if you guys know this but in Vegas the casinos have machines that allow you to refinance your house so you have more money to gamble, that ones real I’m not making that up. My career is too young and I don’t have the money to buy a house yet but you know that when I do I’m refinancing it to gamble some more. Word count: 162 16. Goals Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job? I’m not one for specific stats that I want to reach or anything like that, that’s now what I’m here for. While I would absolutely love to play in all star games and win awards and stuff like that, my biggest goal is make an impact in the locker room, and on the site as a whole. I think the most ideal scenario for me in the SMJHL is to captain Nevada to a championship, that would be my biggest goal. I already have a couple site jobs and I have really enjoyed them, so I would like to get into some more stuff on the site and see what else is going on. Speaking of which I need to remember to apply for the SHL intern job, keep forgetting to do that. I wanna be around here for a while and have a full and complete career, meet a lot of people, and make an impact in some way. Word Count: 160 1. Fan Appreciation Day Your team is giving back to their supporters by holding a fan appreciation day for one of their games, where the team will hand out a special commemorative item to show thanks for their continued support of the franchise. You have been tasked to design the product to be given out to the attendees (can be a rally towel, foam finger, bobble head, etc.) Write a blurb about the item, including details on during which game was / will be given out. We’re giving out rams. Not plush, not a bobblehead, just a full live ram. Rams are in pretty short supply these days so we can’t give it to every fan in a game, maybe like the first 5000 that attend can get a ram. I think 5000 is a pretty reasonable amount of rams to acquire honestly. I think the real logistical issue with it is how we’re gonna keep the rams from destroying everything during the game. Obviously we’d have to hand them out at the beginning as fans are coming into the game, cause that’s really the only way the “first come first serve” thing can work. That means that the rams will be in the building for the whole game, so we would need some ram handlers (or ramdlers) to try to keep the peace. Fans will be on their own to try and bring the ram home, that’s not our problem. I think this will really build some fan morale, cause the fans love the rams and the rams (might) love them back. This will be done during a playoff game to increase the intensity, rams thrive off of intensity. I don’t know the legality of owning rams, but I don’t care we’re doing this Word Count: 209

2. Looking Towards the Future As we near the end of S75, the SMJHL draft will be happening soon. Going into next season, what are your team's biggest needs and areas of strength? Do any holes need to be filled with call-ups? Do you have a position that is incredibly stacked? Give us all an overview of your team, from top to bottom. Great Falls is looking pretty good for next season. We are only losing one player to call-up, Jani Manty. Granted he was second in team scoring this season, so that will be difficult to replace. Goalie Peter Parker retired at the end of the season, so we will most likely look for another goalie in this upcoming draft as well. We also lost David Doughty who is heading to Ottawa in the expansion draft. Besides that, the entire team from last season will be back. So we will need to look for a forward, a defender and a goalie in the upcoming draft. Before we lost Manty, I would have said we were stacked at C, since as the 4th center I ended up playing on the wing for the past season. Now we have 3 centers and so I should be able to move back to my natural position. (150 words, 3 TPE) 10. In the Zone Some players are excellent in the regular season, however there are a certain few that really elevate their play in the playoffs. The pressure and the thought of winning it all really benefits some, while others just have that natural clutch factor, with a knack of showing up at the right times. Write about players who have been crucial to their team, or players that could be in contention for Playoffs MVP. Xavier Beausoleil (COL) - Averaging well over a point a game in the regular season with 89 points, Xavier kept that hot streak going and certainly helped propel Colorado to the 4 Star Cup championship. Leading all skaters in assists (23) points (32) and powerplay goals (4). Certainly a force to be reckoned with. Napoleon Dinklage (COL) - Leading all defenders with 35 hits and a +13 rating, they certainly made their presence felt on the ice. Lots of bruises for opposing players going up against the Raptors. Also had 8 helpers on the offensive side. Timo Leppanen - (Maine) - Helping propel Maine to the semifinals against Newfoundland, Timo led all playoff goalies in GAA (2.11), SV% (0.939) and shutouts (2). It took all seven games for Newfoundland to eliminate Maine and based on these statistics, if they had advanced it certainly seems like Maine could have made some noise in the finals. (150 words, 3 TPE) 8. An Alternate Timeline If you weren't playing for your current team, which team would you most like to be playing for in the playoffs. Explain why you chose that team and how you think you'd slot into their roster. Would your player make a big impact on the team? Would you improve their chances of winning a cup? If I weren't playing for the Great Falls Grizzlies I'd have to assume I'd be playing for the St Louis Scarecrows. My former player played there (canonically my current players Dad) so it would have fit for my second player to end up there as well. While St Louis is a young team, and going through a rebuild, I would probably have still slotted in as their 3rd line Center. Assuming equal performances, my 42 points on the season would have been second best for St Louis last season. I can't really say that I could have helped their chances at winning a cup since I'd think they were still fairly slim. Perhaps would have won a few more games and done better than 15-50-1 but the odds were massively stacked against them, but they know this. A couple rough seasons of a rebuild will pay huge dividends in the future and St Louis should rise to glory again soon. (160 words, 3 TPE) 9. What's in a Name? A player name is the first of many steps that mark the start of a new SHL career. From meme names, real life references and parodies of hockey players, there are a wonderful assortment of names that can be found throughout the league. Which player(s) have the best name and why? Oh what a great prompt, where to even begin. Starting out with my "All Food Team" from an earlier PT we have Teemu Salami, John Peanut, Wonderbread, Sad Ketchup. Bog Damsel is a great name. I wonder if they were the one who was handing out swords in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. Wain Gretski is a clever nod to The Great One. Pique Boo is apparently a silent skater and has an ability to sneak up on people. Gewmba Stolemamoney seems like someone with an axe to grind. Gewmba (Goomba?) better watch out. Jacques Hammer is a fun play on pronunciation, and I assume they are a heavy hitter. Jiggle E Puff and Slowpoke are both named after Pokemon, perhaps playing hockey is safer than fighting other Pokemon? Spack Jarrow sounds like someone who drinks even MORE than Jack Sparrow, if that's possible. But I would be remiss to not mention the absolute best name in the league. Future Considerations. (163 words, 3 TPE) 15. Charity Drive Professional hockey players are among the luckiest members of a community, but not everyone is given the same opportunities. As such, many players are expected to give back to the community by volunteering their time and energy off the ice with various charitable organizations. Write about a charity or event that your player helped out with. Leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Great Falls Grizzlies held a "Feed your neighbors" event where there were good donation bins at the games the week before the holiday. At the end of the week, the collected food was donated to a local food bank for people in need. The team also used the day of from playing to serve a Holiday dinner at a local homeless shelter. The shelter cooked up a traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies and all kinds of other holiday favorites. The club paid for the food and also provided a huge stack of pumpkin pies for dessert. Great Falls is a small community and the Grizzlies are a huge part of the community providing entertainment and fun for local residents, but its incredibly important to provide nourishment as well. Feeding people is an easy way to make everyone feel included, especially around a major holiday. (153 words, 3 TPE). 16 total. Member of Team Prospects North America - S51 WJC, Team Captain

1. Fan appreciation day will soon be here again at the Kelowna knights home stadium. Mark has been put in charge of organizing fan appreciation day this year. This is a great task for Mark. After all he has so many fans. Even his dads fans like him probably. Mark knows what the fans want. The knights are not playoff bound so they will do fan appreciation day during the last regular season home game. Mark wanted to do ceremonial swords for all the fans but apparently that is both too expensive and a legal nightmare. Marks next idea was autographed pictures of him to all the fans. But again he was reminded this is for the entire team and not just Marks fans. Mark settled on shields. Well small shields. The Kelowna S75 commemorative shield is roughly the size of a drink coaster and really functions as one. The shield has “S75 Kelowna Knights” engraved in it as well as a picture of the team on it. The picture seems to focus on Marks face. While not what was originally discussed you have to give the fans what they want. And the fans want Mark’s face on a shield. The shields are made from high quality materials and the Knights now have no budget left for S76.
218 words 4. Mark is the fun time guy. Everyone on the team knows it. Mark decided to get the team in a gaming mood he would teach them Euchre and hold a fun tournament. For those of you that aren’t from the Midwest lets learn euchre so we can all have fun. Euchre is a trick taking game played by 4 players in 2 teams of 2. Start with a standard deck of cards and remove everything but the 9s, 10s face cards, and aces. You will use the 5s to keep score and the first team to 10 wins. Each player will be delt 5 cards and the dealer will turn the top card of the deck face up. Are we having fun yet? Its ok it gets more fun. Starting from the right of the dealer players will decided if they want to call trump. If a player decides to call trump the dealer picks the top card of the deck up and discards a card from their hand face down. The suit of the faceup card is now trump. If no one calls trump the top card is turned face down and starting from the right of the dealer a player may name any suit trump other than the suit that was originally face up on the deck. If a team names trump but doesn’t collect 3 tricks in the round they are considered Euchred. if a team takes 3 tricks of the 5 tricks in a round they receive 1 point. If they take all 5 tricks they get 2 points. If the team that called trump does not take at least 3 tricks the other team gets 2 points. A player may decided to name trump and declare they are playing the hand alone. In that case their partner does not play in the round. If an alone player takes all 5 tricks they score 4 points. Otherwise they score as normal. See this looks fun right. Everyone is going to have a fun time at Euchre night. The team sure does love reading all these rules to a card game they have never played. On second thought maybe we should have just played bridge. After carful consideration Mark bought the entire team some yo-yos and fidget spinners. Everyone seems happy. New knights game night rule. No one wants to learn that card game you grew up playing but no one knows how to play it. 409 words 13. Mark has some superstitions that he got from his dad. Like you have to watch a hockey movie before a big game. But the biggest SMJHL superstition is that you have to touch the 4 star cup before playoffs if you want a chance to win it. That’s right, players from all the playoff bound teams come up with wild ways to sneak into smjhl headquarters and touch the cup before playoffs being. No matter how much security they hire this tradition continues. There is already talk among this seasons rookies about how they can get to the cup. I have heard trained hamsters can bypass most of the security protocols at SMJHL HQ. 114 words 18. Milestones for 3 TPE

INDIVIDUAL PROMPTS
Code: 12. On the Radar Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S75 SHL draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player? Lyle Odelein IV joined the SMJHL in the last third of the regular season. He only had 21 games to play during his draft season and six more games in the playoffs to show the scouts and the GMs what he might bring to an SHL team. He has a very strong connection in the league already, for those who don't know, Lyle Odelein III, the father of the Anchorage Armada rookie, played for the New Orleans Specters for many, many seasons, to be accurate. The youngest Lyle has known the entire front office for his entire life, he has spent a whole lot of time in the New Orleans arena and considers it his second home. For the other SHL teams, Lyle Odelein IV is shaping up to be a big, offensive winger who does not shy away from contact. In his short stint this season he averaged over 2 hits a game, nothing mind blowing, but this kid came into a league with no experience and looks to get better and better as he gets more comfortable in the league. He has been on record saying that he definitely wants to play for the Specters during his SHL career, he would love to follow in his fathers footsteps and wear the purple and black, something he has dreamed about since he was a little kid. And yes, he has several pictures of himself in the past years in New Orleans Specters gear, even pyjamas! No one knows where Odelein might end up after the draft, but wherever he does end up, he will want to show that the apple doesn't fall far from this tree. The name Odelein hasn't been around the league for a while, but it is back, and should be around for quite a while again. 310 words - 6 TPE Code: 16. Goals Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job? This is definelty early in Lyle Odelein IV's career. With only getting a taste of the SMJHL this season, playing in just over twenty games, Lyle looks the show the Armada and the SMJHL what kind of player he truly is. As for career goals, Odelein only has one main goal, to help his team win the Four Star Cup. And when he does make the move up to the SHL, he will again, have the main goal of winning the championship. When it comes to personal goals, he hopes to try and match his fathers career, playing at a top level for several seasons, and winning the Challenge cup and several other solid playoff runs. The elder Odelein holds the record for the most blocks in the SHL, both career (2798) and single season (378 in S9). It is still way too try and guess if Lyle IV will end his career with any records to his name, but he is going to do the best he can to make this a career to remember. As for myself, I don't know if I will try to pick up a gig on the site. When I was around a while back, I started as a SMJHL awards commitee memeber and aslo a update auditor. I don't see myself being an auditor any more since we are you the kick ass player portal, which I have found to be a game changer. So, I don't know if I will get a site job, I will most likely have to make some money through writing media. Which means I have to start thinking creatively, so watch out for that, my apologies in advance. Word count - 290 Code: 17. Feedback For recreates, how was doing this new version of CW compared to the old one? Was the experience better, or worse? How were the PT changes? For first gens, you can also talk about your experiences with PTs in general too this season! I like that prompt! I like this whole new Bonaza! When I was around before, doing CW's kind of felt like a chore. There were definitely some fun and new prompts each season, ones that got you thinking out of the box. And closer to the end of my first stint in the SHL, they made some pretty solid improvements. But I am really, really digging this new set up. Being able to write on promts that really interest the user and not just try and hint the required word count for a topic, is awesome. I have purposely not looked at this this SHL 'Championship Week' set up, because I want to see it for the first next season when I am doing them. I hope that it is just as nice a surprise this time, because the new Post Bonaza was great and I want to thank everyone involved in getting this going. Well done everyone!! Word count - 150 Code: 18. Prompt 1:
Now obviously Regina Elk are known for one thing and one thing only. The Piss Ice. So the fan give away to show our appreciation is a fancy big cup with led lights on the outside. The cup will sense how full the cup is with liquid and the LED's on the outside of the cup will light up to make the cup look like it's getting filled up with piss. Wow amazing the fans will love their piss cups. They will also be able to pick which of their favourite players are on the cup, the Bojan Miovski cup has apparently had one taker. 107 Words - 2 TPE Prompt 2 From what I have been reading on the media side of things Regina are going to be battling a little bit next season. With a fair bit of experience being called up it will be up to the youngsters to stand up and be counted in an attempt to get the squad over the line. 55 Words - 1 TPE Prompt 12 What do you get with Bojan Miovski, you get a prolific striker tearing up the Scottish leagues who is trying to learn hockey. Adaptable to play defense or as a forward, the man is ready to lay the wood but doesn't mind bobbing up on the score sheet with his nose for goal not being lost in the transition from football over to hockey. Not afraid to put his body on the line for his squad, Bojan does the little things well. His entire idea on the ice is to get those players who have actually spent more than 5 minutes in their life on the ice the puck and sit back and watch. When it comes to the point he slams that bad boy goal ward, Regina did ask him to do too much thinking and that seemed to work well. The man may skint in the bank account but he gets his chirps in and does his PT's. Quiet in the locker room and needs help figuring out what to improve the man is a perfect coach able prospect who could be a corner stone of a defensive pairing in 6 or so seasons. And if you have a few spare bucks to throw his way then that would be even better. 216 words - 4 TPE 14 To rest and recuperate for the next season Miovski is going to head back to his home away from home, Aberdeen. The Dons are struggling this season so if the terms are right then we might see Bojan pull the famous #9 back on. If not then he will be happy filling Pittodorie on a chilly week night filling the night with chants from the rest of the crowd while visiting his old friends and taking part in a dram or two of his choice. On his way back to North America he will stop in to see his family back in North Macedonia before being back in Regina in top shape 100 Words - 2 TPE In Regina, Miovski is working on implementing a few programs to improve the literacy and numeracy rates of the youth in town. Literacy and numeracy rates are shown to inhibit students ability to gain an education. Therefore every book that a child 12 and under reads they get 1 token to spend at the Elk store. The cut off for the length of the book increases by the child's age. The general rule of thumb is that a token is about $10 worth of credit at the Elk store. So 12 books would get the child a jersey, 5 a t shirt etc. The school who reads the most books combined will get a visit from Miovski and the schools hockey teams will get a training that is run by Bojan as well. For the numeracy the students can pick up activity sheets that need to be done and handed back in these have been created with assistance from the local school board. 152 Words - 3 TPE ISFL Affiliate - 3 TPE Milestones - 1 TPE

18. For another 3 TPE, Milestones DEFENSE Cade de Vries Goals -> 13 or more Assists -> 34 or more Points -> 48 or more +/- -> +29 or higher Penalty Minutes -> 30 or fewer Shots on goal -> 161 or more Hits -> 65 or more (112) Takeaways -> 33 or more (44) Shots Blocked -> 68 or more (97) Fights Won -> 1 or more Powerplay Points -> 17 or more 16. Some minor goals I have for my own personal user is to keep up the preseason rankings and the predictions for each season for the SJMHL, as I find it interesting in a chaotic (yet still a lot more stable minor league compared to my DSFL) league about the peaks and valleys being so short yet very visible, and being able to track it for the rest of my send downs and rookies is really fun! I also might want to get a smaller league job, as I want to diversify my job portfolio for what my user can be across leagues. For my player, first things first is the SJMHL, and I want to bring NBB a ring no matter what I have to do, whether I have to become a Defensive Defender for a year, or if i need to go full offense, or adopt a build i don’t want to use for the near future. I also want to just be respected from the calculation gods when it comes Total game rating, Offensive Game rating, and Defensive Game Rating. For the SHL, I want to win at least 1 ring, whether it happens on the Toronto North Stars or not. I want to be one of the better offensive defenseman in the league, consistently leading the SHL in either point generation or goals generated, being regarded as one of the greater point shooters of his time. Also, trying to be a hard hitting d-man, I also want to try and lead d-men in hits at some point in my career in any league. Now, another thing I want to try and do is to see if some sort of min-maxing in terms of player skills would do anything, as i know FHM8 is still a bit of a jungle when it comes to solid knowledge of what makes players tick and whatnot. Now, some sort of HOF type of nod would be amazing, but I highly doubt anything will really come of this career. Team wise, I do want to maybe try and help out with the Nevada BattleBorn when it comes to administrative tasks, and maybe some scouting as well and try to develop some skills in those areas (I highly doubt I can be an amazing scout though, as I barely scout already as a GM for the Tijuana Luchadores, but maybe the lower pressure will help me develop) (404 words = 400/50=8 TPE Earned) 3+3+8= 14 total TPE earned 14. For the offseason, Cade de Vries decides to go back to Amsterdam to visit his family (His Mom, Dad, all 4 grandparents, his older sister, older brother, and his 2 younger twin sisters). He decided to also visit some old teammates from his junior days in Amsterdam, in which they got into some hijinks with the extensive canals and some boats. He also guest coached for his younger twin sisters team (Sadly the governing body for the league would not allow de Vries to guest star against 6-7 year old girls, which is probably for the best). He also decided to do a bit of world trekking, which he found to be OK, but was great when he was able to play hockey in unusual places. (127 words, 100/50=2 TPE Earrned) 3+3+8+2= 16 total TPE earned

3. Secret Plans This upcoming season, the Great Falls third line came up with a plan that’ll ensure more victories than last year. Noting a certain James Howlett’s pent-up aggression after every loss, the team found a good way to let it out was by inventing claws for his gloves! Six retractable claws, three stuck into each glove, like some sort of furry mammal that lives in the Northern United States… that’s right, just like the team’s namesake, the Grizzly Bear. With these new gadgets not only will the angry center be given a lot more breathing room on the ice to do his thing, but management saves an untold amount of money on training gear now that Howlett isn’t destroying it all. (120 words, total of 300) 4. Funtimes Admittedly, James Howlett’s ideas about fun can be… strange. He hasn’t been afforded a lot of downtime in his life, so when the rookie was given the job to create recreational bonding moments for the team he initially thought of booking a huge trip to a sauna. Turns out that was more of a Northern Canadian thing than a Montana thing though, so he had to go simple: Beers and Hot Dogs around a pool. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided of course, but in much smaller supply than the good stuff. He also invites the rest of the team to bring a family member or two along, but that’s mostly because he couldn’t find anyone to watch his cousin that day. Even if Howlett can be prickly at times, his cousin’s excitement to meet the rest of his team made sure that there was at least one good host there. (150 words, total of 450) 9. What’s in a Name? I already did something akin to this with my all-star team, but I do have a fondness for the names based off of fictional characters, imagining them as hockey players. My bias is obvious, thanks to the fact that I named my own character after Wolverine, the Marvel Comics superhero, but there are plenty more that I saw and chuckled at. As a Warhammer fan, I have to give huge props to Stormlord Imotekh. I only play Necrons as a tertiary army, but seeing the Sautekh Dynasty’s Phaeron skating around is a beautiful picture in my mind’s eye. Congrats on the new model with your recent codex! Because I also play Magic, I want to give a shoutout to 3WW Wingmate Roc! Apparently if your team mascot is a bird like the Citadelles or the Falcons you get the cool names because Wingmate Roc is a banger of a card and really epitomizes, in my humble opinion, what it means to be a team player. I also play a lot of Selesnya Token decks, which Wingmate Roc always finds its way into, so I’m honored to share a league with this foundational card of so many of my favorite decks. (200 words, total of 650) 14. R&R Howlett, as aforementioned, is a relatively simple guy when it comes to matters of relaxation. Really, most of the time is spent with his cousin, Rose, since he couldn’t spend as much time around her as he would’ve liked after joining a real professional team. While he frets over her and makes sure she’s safe without him there all the time, it also turns into an offseason of reflection. Even though his team didn’t make it into the playoffs, something that would’ve made him tighten his belt when he was under Ogun’s management, he still lives comfortably. He trains and gets better for the next season, with a team that manages to support him. So he does take Rose out to an amusement park or two and plays the role of bodyguard for her but much of this off-season is also spent relaxing at home, something he didn’t realize he missed.
