S77 mPT #4: Well Inspired Due: Sunday, July 7th @ 11:59 PM PST

I mean, I think having teams play around injuries would be quite interesting but I also realize that while NHL has injuries it's not a league vs league rule but rather that it would be the worst feeling ever to have your own player be out for nine months because some stupid injury

I had to think a bit about that one because nothing came to mind instantly. I think they playoff format could need some changes and I was never a fan of using Divisions for anything in a league that is relatively small. You just run into the same teams to damn often which is both annoying and can have a big impact on fairness depending on where those teams you meet so often are in their competitive cycles.

Quote:Is there something that real leagues do that you think and should be implemented to SHL? Or a thing that SHL already does like NHL and why you think it is important to keep it that way?

I know there's a reason that we have a 66 game season, but I really wish that the SHL would move to an 82 game season. Having a comparable to the NHL in that way would add value I think when judging how successful a player's season is and how close the engine is to mimicking the real thing.

I’d like to keep things the same mostly but maybe a skills comp or something would be nice for us to have during our all star break!

One big thing that is unique to the SHL that shouldnt be changed is the rule against having individual tactics for each line of your team. While it would allow player builds to be more creative if we allowed unit tactics, it would make team success less about the players and more about the GM/War Room and inevitably make things less fun.

Thank you hewasajazzman, Slothfacekilla, Sulo, Frenchie, and Raymond for the sigs Smile

I think the SHL should promote the junior leagues more as that are not talked about enough in the NHL and should be try to make it a something people care more about

I personally think the SHL could try and implement a free agency sort of thing just to experience how hectic and crazy that really can be.

I'm sure there's some reason for it (I'd guess in order to fit a certain amount of seasons per year) but could be interesting to move up to an 82-game schedule. Although I'm sure that would fuck with statistics and the like.

Maybe we should hire reporters and have press conferences after a day or week of sims and the team can make coaches and/or players available for media interviews.

I would take from the PWHL their PK rules - if you score during a penalty, the penalty is over. I would also use the point format of the IIHFL a victory in regulation is worth 3 points and 2 points in overtime.

Thanks @xjoverax for the sig!

I believe the contract rules should change to encourage movement throughout the league. It would be exciting to have free agency days with actual significant pieces available for bidding.

I think the SHL could benefit from more of a free agency spike. This is an issue in a lot of sim leagues because I think people are scared to step on toes and leave their team, but people should be free to control the players movement like the nhl, if you’re gonna invest years into your player, why not take some risks if you feel up to it?

I would love it if we had affiliated teams, instead of Juniors. Allow rebuilding teams to send down their prospects to their affiliated farm club for development until they're ready for the big show.

RIP Dangel. See you on the other side, brother

Not about the SHL but rather the SMJHL, I kinda wish not every team made the playoffs. It makes the regular season feel a bit pointless when playoffs can feels just as pointless if you're only a first round nod.

I really wish we would have the actual games lrenders so much better, just as seen on tv would be so awesome. We could even have the thing were the game is play by spongebop and shaggy from scooby doo

I think the main thing other leagues do that we should bring to the SHL is paying people in USD. I think this would help support our economy and my personal life greatly
