Podcast is a merging of two different agricultural terms. Broadcast used to refer to dispersing seeds in a large distance, while iPod referred to the things that held plants. iPod was named after a reference in a movie about space pods, which were like that since they were similar to how seeds were held in little pods. As such, podcast when broken down past it's connotation is: hold seed-disperse seed.
