Option 1: Cal Juice is always happy to help out the rookies. He's one of the oldest players on the new core of Chicago Syndicate players so it's on him to make them feel welcome and show them what it takes to be an SHLer. He always goes to the front of the line when drills are starting on the ice show people how it's done, he offers everyone juice boxes after practice and tries to get everyone to go out together to do fun activities like seeing movies, working out and going to the beach. Living in Chicago everyone has to go see the bean at least once to understand just how over hyped it is and laugh at the stupid social media weirdos taking a million pictures in front of it. He also tries to get people involved in doing outreach with him. The fans always love it when they get to meet new players and it makes the rookies feel genuinely welcomed by the city which does wonders for keeping them around instead of walking to free agency when they get the chance.

This is Deth Klaw's final season in the SMJHL, so he would be considered a J veteran at this point. In fact, he was just named the Maine Timber's team Captain for the upcoming season. Mentoring the new rookies and motivating the team is very important for Klaw. He remembers his first season and being new to everything can be super overwhelming, so stepping up and letting them know this is a team sport and that the team will help them be the best player and person they can be is something that Klaw feels is important not only because it is the right thing to do, it also helps the team! Klaw is just one person, but by helping the others do better and feel better, the team will perform better. This is his last chance at a cup and so everything is riding on how the team performs. Hopefully the rookies can feel better knowing that Klaw and the other vets are looking out for them. (168 words)

If you went back and interviewed all of the people who thought my player could be a 'somebody', then the whole documentary would be a spoken word movie. If I had to highlight three people it would be my player's dad and current Buffalo GM, Eric Vanderberg, their youth hockey coach and their skating coach. Obviously a dad is going to be a little biased. Okay, I kid, a dad is gonna be majorly biased for their child. But as a General Manager they also look at things with an eye to detail and unbiased. A youth hockey coach always wants one of their kids to reach for their dreams and believes any or all of their charges can make it big but they are often the first scouts to find that 'diamond in the rough.' Steve Harrington is a professional motivational speaker at this point just going around and being a veteran presence on rebuilding teams and then getting kicked out once he is done mentoring them. He can still hang with the kids though and can teach them some moves or two, but mostly he is good at helping the rookies adapt to the SHL and keep building their potential. He helps keep rookies on the straight and narrow, makes sure they show up to practice and don't use AI on their PTs. Everything he learned about being a mentor he learned from those that helped him when he was young. Players like Disisde Dayudie, Monkey D. Luffy, and others pushed him to be the best player he could be and Harrington wants to do the same for other players and leave a lasting legacy not just on the history page but also in the hearts of those that go on to also become great.

Option 1:
Jussi loves being the one to welcome new faces to the team. He has a few different ways to help players get settled in depending on their personality. With some, he fully takes them under his wing, gives them a place to stay until they get their bearings. With others he becomes their workout buddy to help them get prepared for the adjustment from the juniors to the Simulation Hockey League. But with a select few, he goes full rivalry mode to push them into the next gear. With Xavier Beausoleil, a player Jussi was very familiar with in the SMJHL, Jussi took it upon himself to elevate Xavier’s game to All-Star levels. When they practiced together, Jussi would go harder than usual to get his fellow Legion of Boom member fired up before the game. The first people that saw LHL’s potential would have to be his mother and then his first teachers in middle school who could clearly tell that school was not for Langston and instead he should focus his attention onto physical pursuits. His mother was an avid skater and noticed that Langston was becoming quite good at that aspect of hockey from an early age and that love of the sport only increased once you put a stick in his hands and gave him a purpose when he was skating about. Once he started slashing and committing penalties though, there was no going back from that. The next key figure who was instrumental in the early stages of the player's career was Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava's mom who was crucial in providing support, encouragement, and the financial resources necessary to pursue a hockey career. Finally, the local scout was instrumental in the early stages of Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava's career who spotted the player's talent at a regional tournament and connected them with opportunities to play at a higher level.
