With the Anchorage Armadas unbelievable season ending up at second place after regular season. I want to compare this season's team with the s57 Anchorage, who went on and won it all. Which is also the only time that Anchorage managed to win, so far. (between s53 and until now).
However, the team has been able to get to the finals 5 times during these seasons, but as I said, only been able to win it once. We will start the comparison with the Goalies. Season 57 there was Chimkin Tendy who had the clear first spot. And did it with honor. The overall game rating was 71. And with a Sv% at a steady 0.920. Meanwhile the backup Ethan Bravo had 61 at overall rating and had a 0.901 Sv%. If we compare that to the rest of the goalies that yes it was a great combo of goalies. Tendy was among the top goalies in most of the stats that season. This year The Anchorage have a more even pair of goalies. PeanutButter Zamboni played 1949 minutes and Adam Joy 2037 minutes. Their stats compared to the other goalies in the league is below par. They do not make it to the top in so many of the statslists against other goalies in the league. But comparing them to the s57 Anchorage goalies they have saved more shots, but they also have got more shots against. PeanutButter Zamboni got a 0.900 Sv% and Adam joy a 0.886, Conclusion. This year's Goalies of Anchorage have done their job in the regular season helping the team get to where they are. But if the team wants to end up as winners in the playoffs, they better bring their A-game. Continuing with the Armadas defense there are some big differences between s57 and this year's team. s57 a lot of the defensive players were oldies. they had played for some seasons, had some experience and knew what it all was about. This year's Armada have got a lot less experienced defenders. 5 out of 6 defenders are playing their first season. Compared to s57 that's a lot. That year the team had 2 out of 6 defenders that were rookies. Javeline Bodine who is the top defender in Anchorage this year has made 12 goals and 37 assists. Compared to Gregory Goode (one of the s53 defender rookies) who was the s57 top pointmaker among the defenders Javeline made 10 more points in total. Conclusion. This year's defenders of Anchorage have been playing a little bit over their skill. But he s57 winners defenders played a little under theirs. making the defensive lineups pretty equal. The forwards in this year's Anchorage had made a lot of a bigger bang than the forwards of s57. The best goalscorer s57 made 26 goals during the regular season and the player who made the most points got a total of 54. This year Chris McZehrl III was the best goalscorer in the entire league with 45. And with Jefferson Steelflex not far behind with 40. Steelflex got the better in total points and is 9 best in the league's pointranking. which translates to almost twice as good this year. Conclusion. The Anchorage Armadas offensive have been really blooming this year and for the Anchorage to be able to go for their second title the production needs to keep going. Another funny little thing to compare is penalty minutes. season 57 the teams baddest badass got 29 minutes in the box. This year Micool is Gonnawinthecup has used it like his home. With 71 minutes in the box Micool is the second worst one in the league. 1,2 minutes per game is slightly lower than the leader who got 1,23 minutes per game. If we add the whole team's penalty minutes and compare s57 with s78. This year's team got 488 Pim in total, and the s57 got 251 pim. So what do we learn from this? As long as the Anchorage keeps playing as they have done during the regular season, they should make it to the final. And in the final, they got at least a 36% chance of winning it all. Thinking of how good the s57 managed to play in the playoffs with such low numbers, this years Armada should be going just as smooth as a boat in the ocean during this year's playoffs.
