S78 PT #4: Sponsored Up and Geared Up Due: Sunday, September 8th @ 11:59 PM PST

Smitty is in an interesting position in terms of gear. As an undead fish skeleton, Detroit has had to consult him and numerous professionals multiple times to figure out what accommodations need to be made in terms of safety. Does a fish need to wear a helmet? Does he need a chest protector if he has no "chest"? How do you put ice skates on a fin? Are pants a consideration???

Ultimately Smitty's bipedal stature helped solve most of these problems, though some cartoonish proportions make things like elbow pads look silly. In addition, he needed a set of custom sticks to account for his lack of opposable thumbs (or any fingers for that matter). There were tough to make; fins tend to flop around a lot more once removed from the water. The equipment engineers had to figure out how to keep Smitty's fins wet so that he could still dexterously maneuver his stick instead of dropping it every time he wanted to make a move.

Professional athletes commonly have particular preferences for their equipment, and this holds true for SHL players as well. It is common in the league for players to have unique preferences and needs, leading to frequent custom orders for equipment. Certain athletes might ask for tailored options like precise padding location, adjusted stick flexibility, custom skate boot designs, or even special blade shapes in order to improve their on-ice performance.

Completing these specialized orders may differ in complexity based on the manufacturer of the equipment and the level of intricacy of the request. Nevertheless, trustworthy equipment vendors can typically fulfill these requests in order to guarantee that players have the appropriate gear for their specific needs.

Personalized equipment can offer players benefits that may not be available with standard gear. For instance, a customized flex profile on a stick can provide improved control and accuracy for a player in their shots. In the same way, custom-fitted skates can offer better comfort and stability, resulting in enhanced agility and speed while skating.

Given the chance to use any legal gear on the ice to have an advantage over rivals, a player could ask for a high-tech stick with sensors in the blade for immediate feedback on shot precision, strength, and timing of release. This knowledge could assist the player in honing their skills and implementing tactical changes during matches, providing them with a notable edge over their rivals. In the end, personalized equipment designed for a player's individual requirements can significantly improve his performance and gives him a competitive advantage in the SHL and other competitions.

Written Option 1:

Slip McScruff does not limit the brands he's willing to work with. The only limit is his own brand appeal. He has enough space on his jersey to fit every company that has reached out to him and still become the first player with first and last name with a three digit number. If he wasn't grandfathered into the bucket-less deal, he would try to sell some ad space on his helmet too.

He has taken a new approach where he shows up to career day and hands out his business card to all the companies trying to recruit high schoolers. He's still looking for his Marshawn Lynch Beacon Plumbing deal which gets him paid long after he's done on the ice. I don't think anyone could have predicted that plumbing would be a gold mine for Marshawn, so Slip is turning over every stone. With his agent, they are banking on the pest control or the children's candy sponsorships, as long as no one mixes them up.

prompt 1

Ozolins doesn't actively seek out sponsorship deals, no. He’d rather just do his own things and see who knocks on his door for partnerships over simply hunting for the “perfect” offer. It’s too much work and when it comes to the boring office stuff, Edžus simply doesn't care enough to give it some real time. Of course, if the sponsor offer is genuine and it follows what he values, then yes he’ll give it some thought. But Edžus wants to be seduced by offers, not the one demanding said offers to corporates in exchange for him supporting shady websites or betting apps that prey on people easy to convince and impress. As a model, Edžus thinks he should only push forward good things that’ll fuel the youth, not one those older men who have no idea what’s going on. All in all, Ozolins isn't and will never become a sellout, out of respect for his fans and his teammates, who’ve grown to know him as a trickster, yes, but loyal to the core.

Normally for Cade de Vries, the sponsorships come to him, but for some of the sponsorships he has to come to them. For the sponsorships that roll to him, its your usual hockey equipment, the sticks; the skates; the pucks; the helmets; the gum. All the equipment comes in rolling for the dutchman, as his presence as an award winning defenseman lets him be able to make these type of brand deals. However, he does have to work for the deals a bit out of his zone. For example, he does do some equipment sponsorships for boxing and MMA, given his stature and size, and his reputation as a mean hitter and a teeth rattler. Those, since he doesn't have any naturally connections in those sports, means he and his agent have to really work to get companies to give him a look and a sponsorship. SO, You can se de Vries selling visors and wrist tape on the same ad block
