The teams have arrived and the venues are top notch. As the tournament began and the pre-season was well underway, a few notable teams appeared dominate in their groups and a few fell behind quickly. Notably, last year’s gold medalists in Ireland
 struggled during the pre-season posting a 2-5 record with a goal differential of -10. Is this a sign of what’s to come in the next few days?I know the pre-season is mostly a gongshow and not much can be gleaned off of it but in case you’re interested, below is a recap of the preseason. Group A
Group B
The United States  have been on fire dominating their opponents, never losing in regulation and putting up a +21 goal differential. Canada  and France  are the other two notable teams with stellar records and finishing with a goal differential of +19 and +18, respectively. These three teams are well above the others in goal differential. Unfortunately, these three teams are in the same group and will have to battle it out to see who comes out on top. In group A, Finland  finished first with a record of 5-2.On the flip side of the groups, Quebec, Japan  and Great Britain  all struggled posting goal differentials of -18, -18 and -23, respectively. Great Britain was the only team to not win a game. Onto the players side of the tournament, there are a few standouts. Adam Prpich  has 10 goals in 7 games. Cale Salad led the players in assists with 9 in 7 games. On the defensive side of things, Ekaterina Valieva led the preseason in hits, with 24 and Guy Incognito is leading in shots blocked at 30.That’s a (quick) wrap for the pre-season.
