Deep Dive #2 - The S80 Slapshot Rooks
#1

In my second deep dive, I will be looking into four players drafted in the first round, all of which came from a separate game known as Slapshot Rebound. I’ll be looking at how not only they did, but how their team did, and what their future might hold.

Rodwin Dionicio
Team: Quebec City Citadels (46 Wins, 18 Losses, 2 OTL, 94 Points, 1st Place)
Position: Right Defenseman
Pick: 1st Overall

A killer opening season from Rodwin, on the top team in the league. In his opening season he played more of an offensive dman for The Citadels, scoring 13 goals, 34 assists, and a +/- of 40 earning him 10th in the league among +/-, and a 73 defensive rating! Along with this he finished 8th among defenders in hits racking up a total of 127, ouch! The first overall really contributed to his team from the 2nd line which you can tell in their first place finish, and their 2nd place in goals allowed (208). This rookie sure has a bright future and one SHL team will be lucky to select this hard hitter in this upcoming draft.

Tiny Princess
Team: Colorado Raptors (40 Wins, 23 Losses, 3 OTL, 83 Points, 6thPlace)
Position: Left Defenseman
Pick: 8th Overall

Another great season for another highly picked dman. After being moved down to the 2nd line on the Raptors, Tiny Princess was still able to shine. In his rookie season, Tiny Princess scored 5 goals (2 of which were short handed), and 35 assists. Finishing with a +/- of 28, Tiny Princess was more specialized on the defensive end of the ice. He finished with 162 blocked shots, 61 hits, and a defensive rating of 72. This helped the Colorado Raptors to finish tied 5th in goals against only allowing 246 in the season. Tiny Princess could use some more offensive ability but this is sure to come with time. Tiny Princess has played great this season and I can’t wait to see which SHL team gets him.

Aaron Noxus
Team: Vancouver Whalers (10 Wins, 52 Losses, 4 OTL, 24 Points, 16th Place)
Position: Left Wing
Pick: 10th Overall

Although a poor team performance from the Vancouver Whalers, leading Aaron Noxus to have a plus minus of -41, individually Noxus performed pretty decently considering his team. Leading his team in goals with 34, and second in his team scoring wise with 53 points Aaron Noxus has had a pretty good rookie season. 141 hits also compliment that with a 76 offensive rating for the cherry on top. I hope that the Whalers get into a vibe so that Aaron Noxus can shine brighter, and I am sure that he is already a highly scouted prospect entering the SHL draft.

Greyson Willis
Team: Carolina Kraken (44 Wins, 18 Losses, 4 OTL, 92 Points, 3rd Place)
Position: Left Wing
Pick: 14th Overall

Another rookie with an incredible debut season, scoring 26 goals, 39 assists, for a total of 63 points (which leads all the rookies on this list). The offensive menace finished with an offensive rating of 76. There is not much more to say about this bum turned superstar other than that I expect high things from him going into the draft, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

With that I have covered all of the first round picks that came from Slapshot Rebound. We will soon find out if Slapshot is an oil reserve of players which also provided goalie DarthDaevin, and soon to be rookies Hitlock Burrito and Conner McDingus. Besides that I can not wait to see what happens with these soon to be drafted players down the road. Thanks for reading.
