11. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Finals Roadtrip - Well since Ottawa and San Francisco are quite far away, @Frenchie gave me enough money to get a nice bus that could take us all the way there in style. Unfortunately for the team, Hotdog Lunch is a bit too trusting and got swindled into getting a less than preferred bus for the team. He accidently rented the Magic School bus from the popular television show, which took the team on some crazy wild adventures... Also unfortunately for the team, the only place that the bus took the team besides the games was directly to hotdog production facilities, where the team got a deep insight into the creation of the lords most perfect treat... Thankfully for the team, I think we managed to get a sponsorship for the barn back in Ottawa. (224 Words) 13. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Five Nation Tournament - I think it would be cool to hold a SUPER-MEGA All Star game once per year. My idea for this is a tournament where even retired players are able to play. Basically only the best players to ever play in the SHL are eligible for playing. So Season 10's top goal scorer could be a on a line with a Season 37 center and another season 59 winger. I just think it would be interesting to see what would happen with players from all generations. I guess you could call it a generation game or something like that. Then you could potentially get some people who have made new players be able to see their old players skate once again. It may be a bit nostalgic, or may invite old players to come back and give the SHL another go. The other idea I had for a series or tourney was inspired by wrestling's Summer Slam or any of the seasonal events they produce. Basically a whole tournament of goons just fighting it out for the Table, Ladders, and Chairs cup grand champion. I know it's a bit goofy, but I giggled at the idea of wrestlers skating around on ice, fighting one another. (237 Words)

9. Personally, I prefer the idea of sticking around on the playoff spots than having seasons out of it. I think it helps with the morale to be around the top and you do not have to go through those stinker seasons where the team can barely do anything. Plus, if you are always there, that means you are more likely to have one season where you finally luck it out. 13. I do not think there is much else to be played for as far as international hockey goes, with the possible exception of maybe a friendly game or two. Maybe some sort of senior game thing like the Seniors' Soccer World Cup from a while back that used to happen in my country with freshly retired players and whatnot. Not really sure if there is much reason to be gauging for ideas but I suppose we are to write things on these things so I might as well take an interesting punt at them. How about if we had an international break of sorts that happened during real-time holidays, something akin to what they do in FIFA but far less damaging and it could serve as a breather for folks if things ever get too on the ball. The way I see it, you could have friendly matches every Christmas to New Years' unless it happens to be during IIHF season, featuring teams that are close to each other geographically and serve to maybe raise rivalries. You could also use it as a way to give caps to players for one reason or another, like maybe bring back a retired player or two specifically for this. Just for the banter. Player Page - Update Page Former Players: Yoshimitsu McCloud (LW, #64) - Won a Four Star Cup once, knew ninjutsu, picture editors hated him, never tried free agency Anton Harrier (LW, #90) - Won WJC gold, liked skateboarding a lot, went to the finals with Manhattan, kept his seat glued in LR

File Worker Top 100... in our hearts Code: Code: Spumoni Code: Code: Well, seeing as it was absolutely devastating as a member of the Forge to lose this one, my favorite moment was the hope and excitement after the first day that we were going to get the opportunity to head home and put on a show for the fans. The blissful ignorance of what was to come and ruin an otherwise great playoff run for us. Oh well. It was fun for that one day at least, and that’s what I’ll remember the most about this specific run. We’ve had some good ones in my tenure, including a win my rookie year, but this was the biggest let down of all. But in fairness, I did enjoy myself immensely, following the first two games, so it’s unfair to call it a total write-off. 132 Words - 2 TPE Code: 9. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Philly has been super competitive for my entire career and has made me personally want to stick around and see it through to the end. I don’t want to play for another team, and I’m sure many people in the room feel the same way. Re-tooling happens, and constantly bringing in new players to phase out the aging regressing former stars like myself is a must. Stocking up and swinging for the fences for a one or two season window isn’t necessarily any more likely to see a cup championship than staying at a very high level for a long stretch of time. I feel we could have ended up with one or two more cups in my tenure than we’ve had so far (1), but it’s been a great run with a lot of great people. I would definitely want to try to always stay competitive, never have any lulls where people question the team or not want to join them and stick around. If you always have a good level of success, people will naturally want to join and stick around. 183 Word Count - 3 TPE

7. Before the playoffs began I would have put my money on either the Quebec City Citadelles or the Carolina Kraken. Both teams had very strong seasons, being first and fourth in the seasonal standings. Being from separate conferences gives them each the best shot at the four star cup, as I would have thought they'd have faced off in the grand finals. I also have some friends on each team and am heavily biased towards supporting them so that also affects my answer. Colorado had other plans and took conference finals from Carolina though. Quebec did win in the end and I am glad for them. 106 Words, + 2 TPE 12. Last season in the WJC I was surprised quite a bit, mostly because I was the GM for World and it was my first time GMing at all. I did not expect to go the whole distance and place 1st in season rankings, let alone first place in the playoffs. Not to mention nearly sweeping the post season awards. As much as I hope to repeat last season's results, I fear I will not be up to the task this season and World will not place first overall at playoffs, I believe World will be around third or fourth place at playoffs this season. Might just be some self doubt speaking though. The team on World is still in a good spot, we still have twenty active players on the roster, and many of them are very offensively focused, so we are looking to have a bit more a "pedal to the metal" feel this season. - 156 Words, + 3 TPE

We have heard rumors of teams like Toronto and Buffalo going full rebuild in the next few seasons so we know this was just an off one for the season. In an ideal world, nobody tanks because that goes against the goal of any sport league but it's unfortunately a part of the game. The changes to the draft order doesn't really seem to have made a difference, I think teams just want to do a huge rebuild even though these take a lot of time. 101 words - 2 TPE Code: 14. Written, 50 to 200+ words.- The Procrastinator Special! Looks like San Francisco Pride was once again the winners. They won the series 4-1 against Philadephia just like they did in Season 76 when they beat Baltimore 4-1. They had amazing performances from a few players on offense. A guy like Dominik Winters had 35 points including 17 goals in only 21 games which is astonishing. Two other impressive players were Logan Webb with 34 points and Bayle with 32 points, Let's not forget their goaltender Justin Time who won his 16 games with only 5 losses, including 1 Overtime loss. He had 4 shoutouts which is very good in the playoffs! 103 words - 2 TPE Code: 13. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Five Nation Tournament What if we did a fantasy draft style tournament? The draft could be in snake order even though I believe that would give a strong advantage to teams draft at the end of the first round as they could crab two 1850 TPE+ players. This type of tournament could be fun but there would need to be huge incentives for people to participate in them and perform. The more and more I think of it, the worse this idea is and I don't actually believe we should do this. I don't think people would care for it. We would have no strong feelings for the teams. 106 words - 2 TPE Code: 12. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Old Reliable IIHF Analysis I have big hopes for the WJC. We have a strong team here in Rhine and with @HillsHaveHats patrolling our blue line, we should be a strong contender for the gold medal. We have many 425 TPE players like Emeric Gagnar, Louis Belanger (yours truly!), Chris McZerhl III, Andrea Morandi, Felix Carlsson, Oliver Cornwall, Jacppo Nummilavin and Crazy Tomato II. The pressure is on @jaypc8237 to make sure we come back home with a medal. I do wonder if we have the strongest team in the competition and especially considering we have an actual tomato as cogm, teams will be scared. 101 words - 2 TPE 8 total TPE

2. I don't think two people make a huge difference in a series, I think it's down to the team as a whole. Although Gnabe Dabson and Tony Soprano are both leading, and a big leaders can help the team a ton, what wins the series is the depth in the offense and defense and a strong tendy pair. It could definitely make a difference however. 3. I'd love to see Cale Salad win the trophy, because it's always fun to see a defenseman win something they don't usually get. As for if he could I think it's totally possible, just gotta keep pushing for that. We could definitely see that happening, and it would be really cool. So i'm rooting for him. 4. There aren't many games, nor much time for Philadelphia to fix those stats. I think Justin Time will easily be able to keep the lead, and there isn't much Philly can do at this point with not many games in the series and already behind, whether or not they have the lead offensively. I think it's all down to the goalies, and it's time for the Pride to bring home the cup. 7. It's so tough trying to call out the J winner before the season starts, because there are so many teams that have a huge chance of winning. You never know when a team at the bottom is going to rocket up because of some good rookies coming in, but I think a team that's got a really good chance this year is the Colorado Raptors. They have almost always been in the top five the last couple years and have done good in the playoffs, just haven't been able to push far enough to grab a cup. Maybe this year they can make it happen. Sig by ME

2 – No, it is not enough to give the offensive advantage to Philadelphia. Over the course of the season (a much larger sample size than over the playoffs alone), San Francisco had a whopping 5.24 goals for per game. You don’t need to be a mathematician to see that that is bananas offensive output, but to put it in a direct comparison to their opposition for the finals series, the Philadelphia Forge scored an (also insanely high) 5.00 goals for per game. Hockey is a team game and in a sport where your top players can only be on the ice for about a third of the game and still be effective, depth scoring is as important (if not more important) than reliance on the top end of the roster. This is especially so in a league like the SHL where true superstars are pretty easy to match (relatively, compared to leagues like the NHL) because it is based on earning, which is limited per season. As such, you can line match and to some extent nullify the super stars of the team facing you. Philadelphia may have the slight edge in top end talent, but the Pride come at you in waves and that’s just too much to stop. 210 words, +4 TPE 14 – San Francisco won because of outright dominance up and down the lineup. Despite San Francisco spotting the Forge a game in an 8-2 blowout on opening night, the Pride put that game in the rear view mirror, never winning by less than three goals, including a 14 goal outburst in a game 3 shut out. The Pride were obviously the best team in the league this year, and it’ll be up to everyone else to catch up going forward. 80 words, +1 TPE TOTAL +8 TPE

Is that enough to give offensive advantage to Philadelphia? While it is great for a player to be leading on their team, and in the league as a whole for goals and overall points, however it all needs to be viewed in the greater context of how the team performs when that player is not on the ice. Ignoring Corsi and Fenwick, in simple terms of goals against and shots against when these two players are not on the ice speaks volumes as it is an average around 4.4 goals against / 33 or so shots against when not on the ice. It is nearly identical when they are on the ice. The point being made is that while they are definitely showing some offensive supremacy in their ability to score goals or make assists, the real powerhouse is the defense as a whole. As they say, defense wins championships. 140 Words - 2 TPE Code: 13. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Five Nation Tournament Personally, I would like to see a resurgence of a tournament similar to the Cookie Classic that the members of the Season 52 draft class devised. It is basically similar to a rookie showcase or even that of the WJC or IIHF tournaments with one major exception: there are imposed TPE limits on players. Everyone that is selected to play gets the same amount of TPE cap to play with. No exceptions. At that point, players can make their builds as they see fit and therefore the challenge or ability to succeeds doesn't depend anymore on who can build the highest earning team but who can craft the best cohesive team from the player builds. It has been a long while since the Cookie Classic was played, but it would be worthwhile I think to perhaps entertain this as an additional off-season practice as it gives perhaps a more legal purview to test different builds and actually see how they perform. 161 Words - 3 TPE Total: 8 TPE

9. Obviously it would be better to get to the top and stick to the top, but that's an incredibly hard feat unless you've established yourself as a destination for greatness or are a team with a long history of users looking to play together. Even then you're like to have some ebbs and flows in which you drop into at least playoff mediocrity for a while. I think the most realistic way to build is to commit to a rebuild, do what you can to load up on picks for 3 or 4 seasons, get high end players that you can convince to ride out some harsh seasons, and then enjoy a 4-6 season window where you're in contention all over and over again. Ideally that success and maybe some cups or final appearnces will attract free agent interest and you can use that to extend the window a bit, but eventually that core is going to be too regressed to help much and the cycle continues. Unless, like I said you're a long standing team with a huge legacy of players that want to come and help out, sign in FA, ask to only be drafted by you, etc. That kind of thing really helps to have a second core wave coming up while your first is still competing. (220 words) 14. San Fransico took home the Challenge Cup this year, and for some reason that felt like a forgone conclusion to me? They've been hugely dominant for many seasons, granted Philly has looked good forever, but for some reason this felt like SFP's year to me. They won it what, like three seasons ago? I think that core is still rocking and easily has another year or two of contention in them. They look great and I imagine they'll be back in the finals at least one more time.
