1:

Brayden Point would be on the blue team. It would be a match of forwards vs. defenders and the goalies would each go to 1 team. Brayden Point is no stranger to winters being Canadian. He also also seen his fair share of reality TV. Be nice but not too nice and take the lead but not always take the lead. Be the one that people love and respect a lot but fear just enough that they would never vote him off the mountain. If you do not say anything people will see you as an easy target and if you take all the spot light they will feel threatened by you and want you gone. By striking the balance it would be the best way to win. Also because this is Tampa most of the players are not used to the cold mountains Brayden Point is a natural here and will pave the way for his team to take a win for the blue! Have no fear for Brayden Point is here  Barracuda Barracuda Barracuda

Jack Ellul shoes up to the New England Wolfpack training camp as their newest draft pick excited to join the team. He knows that he has a few more years in the SMJHL before he makes the jump but is excited to skate with the team. When he arrives though, he finds himself not at a rink but a river in the Canadian wild. "Wolves hunt Walleye you know!" A voice cries from the woods. With that Jack and the other Walleye rookies are chased through the woods in a wild game of tag. Having to use both their physical and mental strength to avoid getting caught. It is definitely not something that Jack expected going into his first training camp. By the end of the day Jack had managed to evade most of the team but was shivering from hiding neck deep in the river for hours. The team doctors had to work hard to keep him from suffering long term from hypothermia.

Training camp is super important for athletes. It shaves off all the rust from the off-season and is the best place to really work on your game and hone your skills. There's really no time during the season to do some of these specific drills so training camp is crucial to a great season.

During training camp, I focus on the physical side of the game. The mental side is developed throughout the season when you're put into different situations that you need to deal with. Training camp is the time to work on your skills and focus on the parts of your game you need to develop for the season. I love working on my skating and really improve on that. As a defenceman, I want to be able to skate every which way and move well. I work on my leg workouts and do a bunch of different skating drills to really stay sharp on my skates. I also make sure to work on my on-ice strength so I can handle the physical nature of the game and not get pushed around, especially on the boards.

Training camp is crucial and I love using it to really give time to developing my physical skills on the ice.

Anchor: With the next season of the SHL soon in play, teams are back onto the ice to practice. Our sports reporter spoke to a Detroit Falcons player about what the team does to get back into ice shape.

Reporter: The Falcons are out on the ice for the first time this season, and with new players via the draft and free agency it's interesting to see the chemistry start to form.

Bjelland: Yes, coach this year is making us focus a lot on core strength just to get back into shape. Some of us lose it over the offseason, but I always try to keep my strength up. It's a whole different ballgame when you are actually training with your team though.

Reporter: Bjelland told us the new players are fitting in already, and are growing accustom to the new training regiment.

Anchor: The Falcons play their first preseason game next week against St. Louis.

Elvar Gil-Galad is beyond excited for his first season in the SHL with the Chicago Syndicate. He has spent the off-season training hard both physically and mentally. His physical training has not differed since he joined the juniors four seasons ago. Everything to the max. Every opportunity to train and earn gains has been taken advantage of. He is prepared.

Mentally might be another story. Chicago is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after a few seasons of rebuild and Elvar will probably tested as the big bois of the league hope to take advantage of the rookie goalie. It's going to be hard to stay mentally focused as other teams may potentially score 5+ goals per game but Elvar knows the glory seasons are yet to come.

He hopes to just fit in and take the licks as Chicago hopes to improve on last season's results. There may be some stingers this year, but as long as Elvar stays positive for the future and finds his place in the Chicago line-up, all will be awesome in the next few seasons.

As a recent rookie on the Manhattan Rage, Ylib Kove has to take every opportunity he can get to participate in team activities like this. He'll try as hard as he can in the competition and refuse to go home to sleep in comfort early. He'd make sure to do a lot of work around camp to ensure he's not seen as a useless early vote out. His middle of the road physicality will also ensure he isn't seen as a physical threat early either. Jaromir Jagrbomb, Betzee Nickelback, and Celeste Desjardins will be some of the biggest threats to do well in competitions and Ylib can strategically hide behind them. His most likely ally in the game would be Elly Snow-Leopard because of the chemistry they've developed on ice together after playing on the same line as each other for the majority of their careers, dating back to their seasons with the Yukon Malamutes. Overall, I don't think Ylib will be able to win since he is fairly new to the team and hasn't developed strong enough bonds yet to have votes on his side for the entire game.

Written Option 2:

While not normally one for extravagant spending, Matviy Cajabi had commissioned for himself a coffin shaped, sensory deprivation tank. Always one to push himself to the limits physically when it comes to training during the offseason in preparation for having a big year, he was searching for other ways to improve himself and his game to take the next step.
In an effort to try and hone his mind and focus ever more, Cajabi has been engaging in transcendental meditation. Combined with his flotation tank, the plan is to use his intense meditative state to guide him in becoming the best hockey player he can be. Better yet, the best person he can be. He can push out all of his negative thoughts and allow himself to manifest his highest ambitions into reality.

We'll never know what his TM mantra is, as it's usually kept a secret by it's practitioners, but you can't help but think his will be the one thing that has kept him driver in the RHL thus far. Championship.

Grzegorz is absolutely useless in surviving the desert of the American Southwest. He's from Poland and has spent his entire adult life on hockey; he doesn't know a tent from toilet paper. As such, assuming Grzegorz's team actually wants to win the tasks, he is going to be sent home almost immediately. I'm sure Derek Martin would be very annoyed with Grzegorz's horrendous performance, but what can you expect from a sentient cartoon ball with no limbs? Ultimately, Grzegorz is here to stop pucks, not scorpion attacks. He's here to get wins, not water in the middle of Joshua Tree National Park miles from the nearest water fountain. Fortunately, Grzegorz gets voted off the "island" in very short order and sent back to training in the real world with real equipment for his real job. He will be very pleased about this outcome and find it entirely reasonable that he was the most useless member of the tribe in a survival situation. Now, if the gang finds themselves pressed into war with Russia or something, then Grzegorz can show them how to survive, but in terms of being stranded in the middle of nowhere, no, Grzegorz is useless as tits on a bull.

This is an outrage!

Burb decided it would be a good idea to take the team to the wilderness for a Survivor style training competition thing. And he wouldn't even let me stream it, even though it would be excellent YouTube material. Furthermore, Burb has decided that I am supposed to be some kind of team leader now and so he has held me to higher expectations.

What is the world coming to?

Hiking through rugged terrain while being eaten by mosquitoes. Getting mud all up in between my toes. And having to catch my own food and cook it myself. I almost starved. Scaling a fish is so icky!

And sleeping in a tent. First of all, tents don't have air conditioning! Isn't this a violation of the Genevierre Convention?

To top it off, every time I tried to bribe my teammates into voting me out of the wilderness and back to my own bed, Burb used a save to keep me there and send someone else home.

I wanna go home!

written option 1.

Julian Flörsch thinks he would do very well in an American wilderness challenge type of team training camp. Back home in Switzerland, he used to hike a lot. He'd stay out for days in the mountain with a friend, a tent and a backpack with the essentials. So he knows how to survive in extreme conditions, and provide for his own food and comfort while out in the wild. Julian would be an asset for the team he'd end up on and could teach the other competitors some valuable survival tricks.

Julian is pretty competitive, so he thinks he should be in the challenge for as long as possible and maybe even win it. Survival isn't about strength or hockey skills, but about mental resistance and adaptability. And Julian thinks that he's very strong in those areas and will do very well in the challenge compared to the rest of the team.

Prompt 1

M'Baku Olubori was built for this shit. Even after counting out the many racist jokes teammates have made about him growing up in a “stick hut” despite Abuja, Nigeria being comparatively sized to CHICAGO, Olubori is in imposing physical specimen. He always has been—could have played American football and been a star. Instead, now he’s headed into the woods with his teammates for this nonsense. While he won’t be the first person eliminated (sorry, that’ll be the softest boi himself, captain Erik Bergmark), Baku plans to pace himself. He knows he is now the undisputed elder statesman of the Platoon, and needs his rest and recovery to keep up with the younger men vying for the win. The prize, however, sucks, as it’s just more time in the woods without creature comforts. Bragging rights don’t pay the bills, so Baku is ready to play some mind games to keep others motivated to keep pushing and eventually eliminates him right around the middle of the summer. He heads back home with a smile on his face, while the final 10—Tingle, Fry, Liebolds 1 and 2, Gilleyes, Nostradamus, Inge Baardsen, John Hopoate, and Evil Kyle Murray—continue to battle it out.

While he was there, Baku instructed many of the less experienced people in how to build shelter, and other basic survival skills (namely, you cannot pet the bears @Urq660; they are not your friends).

In the end Gilleyes was the last man standing because everyone forgot he was even there. He showed up late to camp with a ratty beard and wild eyes, smelling awful. No one asks about the bite marks—we’re all terrified to know the truth.

Written Option 2:
Physical and mental strength training are essential for Ethan Cross's preparation for the offseason. As a two-way center, he must be well-rounded in all aspects of the game, which is why he trains.
Physical Training:
With balance being a key component, Ethan's offseason routine includes lower body strength to push his skating power and agility up a notch. Strong legs help him maintain speed, dominate puck battles, and stay resilient in the corners. He also incorporates core exercises, like planks and rotational movements, into his training, which improves his balance and stability on the ice, helping him to stay in an optimal position during faceoffs, protecting the puck, and making passes or shooting with precision.
Ethan doesn't neglect upper body strength, but it's more for endurance and functional strength. Exercises like pull-ups, push presses, and resistance band drills ensure he is physically ready for physical battles without sacrificing mobility.

Mental Strength:
Ethan believes mental toughness is just as important, essentially when the game gets heated. He trains this through visualization exercises, picturing himself in critical game situations, such as crucial faceoffs or penalty kills. Meditation and mindfulness practices help him stay composed and focused, even during intense moments.
He also consults a sports psychologist to develop routines that help him become even stronger after a mistake or tough loss. Such mental training allows him to bounce back quickly and not lose his confidence, an essential trait for any on-ice leader.

Overall Philosophy:
This is a time of physical and mental foundation-building for Ethan's offseason. He understands that to survive in the SHL, one needs more than raw strength: consistency, adaptability, and staying sharp under pressure. Thus, Ethan combines physical conditioning with mental toughness to prepare him for anything that might come along in the new season.

Written Task, Option 2:

Strength training is key to success in hockey. The Banes Family has a long-standing tradition of training, and Rodrigo has adopted the following prioritized tier list for his training regimen:
1. Lower Body
2. Core
3. Mental
4. Other (Upper Body)

For lower body training, Rodrigo prefers a traditional blend of jogging or cycling through the streets of Montreal, or his hometown Vancouver. This builds a strong foundation of strong joints and ligaments, as well as helps him keep his cardio up. Heavy weight training is primarily used in the off-season to add mass and brute force power. Once the season is underway, the weight and strength training becomes more focused on explosiveness, and maintaining the muscular density of his lower body.

Core strength is fairly important, and his incorporates this with a fair bit of overlap on number 3 on his priorities: mental strength. When possible, this looks like traditional gym exercises to build rotational strength. Adding an extra wrinkle, he likes to do situps in a sauna, or under a waterfall to train Core and Mental strength at the same time. Also it helps him feel like Tien from Dragonball Z.

And then upper body is pure gun show. Biceps, chesticles, delts (for doorway-splitting WIDTH) and triceps for fullness of upper arm.
