S80 PT #0: Survive Due: Sunday, December 15th @ 11:59 PM PST

P1: So the season’s about to start, but instead of a normal training camp, our coach—clearly inspired by a Survivor binge—dumps us in the North American wilderness. Two tribes, a bunch of ridiculous challenges, and the winners get to send one of their own back to civilization, where they’ll train with modern equipment and sleep in warm beds. Only one player stays in the wild to be crowned the ultimate survivor.

Turns out, I’m way better at this wilderness stuff than I thought. Carrying logs? Easy. Shooting pucks at targets while balancing on a slippery rock? Like a walk in the park. And don’t get me started on the endurance runs through the woods—I’m leaving guys in the dust. It’s like this whole thing was designed for me.

At camp, I take charge, making sure we’re organized. I’m no Boy Scout, but I can delegate: “You, gather firewood. You, stop whining and boil some water.” I’m not here to play camp counselor, though. The longer I’m out here dominating these challenges, the more I’m thinking: why rush back?

Solaire has quite a few things that he could accel at, which would be mostly wilderness based. Granted, where he comes from, and where we are now, the wildernesses are very different, but if you think about it, he's a trained soldier of Astora and would know how to handle most things in the wilderness, but I truly believe that Solaire would fail at the conning of others and the games that are played between the people. He is quite naive when it comes to those kinds of things, and kind of just moves to the beat of his own drum in the sense that Solaire doesn't really focus on the other things and just on what he's doing at the moment and how he can find his own sun. So while he can do good on the challenges, its the games with the other people and setting up the long con that he would fail at.

Edouard Lavoie spends the first part of the offseason training camp recuperating from the previous season. This does involve some mental exercises to reduce stress and improve focus. After a few weeks, though, he begins to ramp up his stamina and endurance training so that he can be in the best shape he can be to play as best as he can throughout the entire season. He mixes in strength training throughout to get stronger and be better physically. He then takes time to focus on more finesse training to improve his puck handling and shooting skills. In order to be fully ready for the season, Lavoie makes sure to train all aspects of the game. Both physical and mental aspects of the game are important for Edouard to continue progressing and his time spent on both makes him feel the most prepared he can be for the next season. This will hopefully be enough to make him a better contributor for his team.

Johnny FourStar, the great Winnipeg Aurora forward, focuses on physical strength training to stay in tip top shape. Johnny does all sorts of exercises. He squats. He deadlifts. He does lunges. And that's just the leg and back exercises! Johnny also does upper body workouts, like curls and bench press. And we cannot forget about the cardio! Johnny loves to go on bike rides. There is just so much that can be done to improve physical strength.

It is important to draw a balance between physical training and rest. Rest is when the muscles have a chance to recover and grow. And no one takes rest more seriously than Johnny FourStar. At this late stage of his career, Johnny has to do what's necessary to take care of his body. Especially because Johnny is a physical player, that makes it even more important to be sure to take care of his body. Through these important exercises, and plenty of rest, Johnny gives himself the best chance to win hockey games.

My player absolutely treis to keep a balances regimen all around, between various strength exercises, doing the worlde every day for mental sharpness as well as playing VR games while driving in order to maximize training efficiency. As everyone knows you need to eat a ton of food right before you work out so that your body can turn the food into mega muscles. So Hockey Player makes sure to at least stop by mcdonalds before every practice. A 20 piece mcnugget will get the job done but there are many different options there that will give you the fuel you need ot make a strong hockey player. One of hockey players favorite exercises is to play hockey with leaf blowers pointed forward so that they have to skate extra hard. This work exactly the same as it did for goku in the hit show dragon ball z when he trained on the planet with really high gravity. It is one of the many strategies present in dragon ball that have been implemented into modern hockey training regimens.

At first glance, most people would assume Slowpoke would not be a very good choice to end up winning a contest like this. It is quite evident on the ice that Slowpoke is, well, slow and people often equate that with being unathletic. This often allows him to surprise people on the ice with his stout defensiveness at times and I think the surprise factor could play a big role in him upsetting this content. As a slow moving individual he will not burn through calories quite like other competitors allowing to do more with less. He will also not have a target on his head as long as he contribute enough to not upset other players in the contest. I think he would ultimately try to fly under the radar without upsetting anyone and hope that when the number of competitors start to dwindle he gets a fanbase behind him to push him over the finish line. Now I saw that but could also see him being voted off first as a perceived weak link.

my player would do immensely well. This is because the majority of survivor events are held in Fiji. And my player is from Fiji. This means that he grew up working on farms cutting sugar cane, and wrassling animals. Like horses and goats and sheep. This is a significantly strenuous endeavor, and as a result has given enlightened centrist a crazy physique and dexterity. he is also adept at survival skills like foraging, fishing, fire making, tent making, all skills that are very useful in a game show like survivor. So, he would win most immunity challenges because he is just better than everyone else. he would also leverage his survival skills to make him too useful to vote out. he could also use these skills to find the hidden immunity idols in the wild. after the team merge, he would be unbeatable because of being able to win every challenge because he is simply that good

Graj would do decently well in all physical tasks, but he is getting older and his skills are failing. Unfortunately, he would be outclassed by many of his teammates. He would probably do the best in the balance and endurance tasks, since he has so much experience in those areas, but when he is tasked to do something with strength or accuracy, he might falter a bit. His worst area would absolutely be the sleep and the eating challenges. When sleeping, he would struggle immensely not having his sleep patterns as they normally are, and his older body would break down faster than his younger teammates and those in their primes. And with eating, he's a bigger guy and needs more to eat than the usual specimens. With the lower amount of food available, he would definitely struggle the longer he's out there. And on eating challenges, he would break down very fast when told that he has to eat worms, slugs, anything gross. He doesn't love seafood either, so Graj's best bet would be to go hard the first few days and try to get sent home very early.

Bongo was born a loser. His dad was a garbage man and his mom worked at the dump. So when he found out he was going to be competing in tasks on Atlanta inferno SURVIVOR, he couldn’t help but sheepishly kick the ground in front of him, hands in his pockets and eyes facing him the concrete. I mean, bongo is a LOSER. I know what you’re thinking, he isn’t a loser! He even won the turd Ferguson trophy. Oh yeah, turd furgeson - the trophy you receive for being the biggest LIABILITY in the league with the most penalty minutes.

So, survivor went just as expected, but you know how those shows work. Bongo was so bad, nobody wanted to vote him out, because he simply was not a threat. He actually made the top 2: and the last challenge? Who is the biggest IDIOT! Guess who won? Let’s just says… he added another trophy to the hardware.

Trevor has never been the type of man that plans or practices for anything, let alone strength training, he thinks he gets enough of that during the season, after all the off season is called "off" season for a reason, its time OFF from the sport, well that's what Trevor thinks anyway. He has always had a naturally athletic build and just by playing during the season he has been able to maintain that. The only that could be considered as training would be that every off-season Trevor goes completely off the grid, no social media or even human contact for at least a month. This is a good time for Trevor to get his head right and to reset his ego, after all, complete isolation is no easy feat, at least not for Trevor, he thrives around his fans, but this is what he needs to get his head ready for the season, but that's all that trevor lahey does to train during the off season

Written option 2

The offseason can be just as important of the actual season.  This is the time to prepare mentally and physically for the upcoming season.  For Lyle Odelein IV, both of these areas are equally important.  The physical strain that these professional hockey players put of their bodies is immense.  But the strain on their mental being is just as intense.  So when the offseason rolls around, they need to hit the reset button first and foremost.  Take some time for their bodies to heal and for their minds to relax.  But they don't rest too long.  Hitting the gym to make sure that they are in tip top shape and ready for the season when it comes around.  But also training their minds for the next season.  They need to ensure that they are ready mentally to take on the weight of being a pro player, a pro teammate as well.  Lyle takes his offseason seriously, especially just coming off his rookie SHL season.  He still has a lot to prove and this offseason, he made sure he will be ready to take the next step in his career.  He needs to be a better player on and off the ice.  His body and mind must be ready for what is coming and he will be ready it.  All of the hard work he put in in past little while will be on full display this week.  He knows what it takes to be an SHLer, and hopefully he has done enough to show improvement on his first SHL season and he feels that he has put in the work during his first SHL off season.

Jamie Fraser thrives in the makeshift survivor competition. He is at this point somewhat removed from his time in the Scottish Highlands at this point but still is more adapted to the wilderness and more primitive lifestyles than all of his modern counterparts. This comfort in the lifestyle means Jamie thrives in the challenges and is quickly seen as a powerful ally and threat. His political leanings are strong enough, but his lack of understanding of Survivor and game show theory is a big limiting factor and he struggles at points. He is in no rush to get back home though, and this generally confuses his teammates to the point where he's eventually able to leave but decides to stay until they all have a chance to make it back to Montreal. The coaching staff learned the lesson though, and Fraser definitely will not be included when they reboot this process next season.
