If simmers are "continually fucking up", then it's not the simmers' fault. That means there's an issue with the job that needs to be ironed out, likely a process issue.

You're right Scud, there are no reasons for anything to go wrong that could apply specifically to the SHL. Thanks for the insight. In the future I will try to be less forgiving of people who offer their time to us as a community in exchange essentially valueless currency.

Im not trying to be right or wrong I just want clarity on this, but thanks for being a smartass its really conducive of solving problems!
you stated the simmers cant be blamed on this as its the system's fault, so im asking why after all these years of the league's existence is this system still faulty? if that question can be realistically answered without being a fucking smartass because Scud asked we could probably get somewhere on this. grow up cal

Don't fucking try to gaslight me. You get the level of charitability you've earned over the years.

how am i gaslighting? you and literally everyone else in the league know that if someone else had asked the question your response would not have been that hostile. is it possible to just answer the goddamn question in the context provided without having to be a jackass simply becase IM the one who asked the question? am I allowed to want the best for this league too or will you not accept that as remotely possible?

Yeah I mean this makes sense if you ignore the fact that the scope of the job, the software for the job, and the personnel involved have been continually changing for all of those 80 seasons.
I promise you we don’t have a glaring issue, that can be addressed, that just hasn’t been solved in the past 13+ years.

Yea it’s not the same job as it was with STHS. It’s like asking why this bridge that we used to ride horses across won’t support a cybertruck. Not that you guys haven’t tried to address the bridge. Or the horses. But sometimes the truck breaks down. Or the bridge is icy. I’m not good with metaphors.

I think a good question is if other sim leagues (PBE ISFL, SSL, SBA or whatever else) are more stable and consistent when it comes to simming and file work, what exactly do they do differently than us? What measures do they have for divvying up who's simming and scheduling, verifying file work and data that has to be input? What practices do they do that we could try and adopt, if we talked to their sim team heads, would we be able to get better methods or practices to make it easier to sim, ease the load for doing a sim and making it a more efficient process? There's room for discussion their in a way that doesn't berate or breach CoC which is already covered in the rules

I mean this is unironically a good metaphor lol

My understanding is that a big part of the issue is FHM is a worse engine than what other leagues use. Unless something has changed (And its possible it has), the PBE has communication with the devs for OOTP and they can usually get big issues fixed. For the SSL, FM is just an objectively better engine with more customization to allow sim leagues to do what they need. FHM is rigid and doesn't really like everything we try and do (Which is why scouting errors will always exist for example) and the devs don't really care to fix any bugs since FHM is not nearly as big of a revenue driver as OOTP. So we make do with what we can but its definitely a bigger fight than other leagues.
Someone of course please tell me if I'm wrong but that's my general knowledge from the sim engine side.

This is a genuine question… why do we care so much about a singular SMJHL reg season sim being delayed? Not even missed, or a resim. This whole thing is just totally baffling to me because like… who cares? Is there a huge swarm of new creates that are rioting because of one delayed sim or something? And if thats the case then why aren’t J GMs handling their team and explaining to them how these things work?
I truly do not understand why this became such a big deal and would love if someone could explain because I feel like I missed something lol

Love to the sim team
So the issue was never with the sim being delayed, it was the fact that GMs hadn't heard anything from the sim team about a delay even after the scheduled sim time. Delays are fine, they are part of the nature of things I will never have any problem with delays. This whole thing kinda got out of hand honestly, never meant for it to become as big of a thing as it became
I do want to say though that since this incident the sim team has done an improved and admirable job in communicating what's going on if there's a possible delay, and it is sincerely appreciated
