Shouldn’t they just appeal if they think it’s a bad or overly harsh punishment (pls don’t look at my bank account, totally don’t need the money from another appeal)

Encouraging someone to play for a certain nation should be in no way considered a tamper. how many people on this site even care about IIHF? guarantee it's less than 20.

that's also excluding the fact that this player had not created, there is literally zero evidence of a tamper. HO is abusing power at that point no?

Right??? This is crazyyy. How could anyone in good conscious make this punishment and seriously think it's good for the league?

I see no attempt of trying to explain why it's a good decision, and just citing an ultra specific rule from a rulebook that you can, in fact, rewrite. Which I'd advise because seriously... What are we doing here?

Pedantic interpretation of the rules vs using common sense. Was there any vetting process of the pros vs cons of issuing the punishment? Was it done with malicious intent or a simple mistake? Seems like IIHF went bear hunting and trying to be happy with a rabbit, way to deflate an already under-appreciated part of the league.

With no idea on the specifics of this particular case and with only limited knowledge of what happened before, years ago Czechia got in hot water for advertising to join Czechia vs join the SHL or something.

I agree that the punishment is a lot, and I would agree it's even more outrageous if it was innocent in nature. Spirit of the rule vs how it is being applied sort of deal. However, my understanding of this rule is to prevent users from being locked into a nation, especially without other nations having a fair chance.

It's tough for sure, and I went hard for months on recruitment, even messaging some in this thread now who ghost / ignore me, which is cool 100%. It isn't personal. But this new player might never interact with me as a fed head if they create on a small nation, because of transfer limit. And if it isn't being presented as an option, "i.e. I'm on Czechia, but there are many other nations" vs "just pick Czechia. It's the bestia" ...

Idk , I wasn't there and don't really know all the details. I do know the IIHF gets ignored a lot and leaving a bad taste isn't a good look for anyone.

Also, can we somehow blame seany for this?
