S82 mPT #4: Smoke Signal Due: Sunday, May 18th @ 11:59 PM PST
#61

The new signing for the Seattle Argonauts are keel hauled before they are paraded before the public in a fishing net. Quirky? Yes. But also character building!

We don't do anything all that special. We have a cool header to put at the top of our 'Press Releases' when we announce signings. We try and focus more attention to the product on the ice instead of the bells and whistles off the ice.

I think we can get away from all of the pomp and circumstance that usually comes with press conferences and go back to just publishing everything in the news paper. Make people read stuff again. That’d be fun.

For our newest signings and hirings in Carolina, we have the GM (usually kahri) to ping us so that we can welcome in the baby squid to the Kraken! We could perhaps ask the new person to draw us the kraken logo

The Kelowna Knights welcome all new rookies in as squires, the name really means nothing as everyone is treated like family. We usually really welcome them in with a modified version of 'helmets and gloves' where you sword fight with mini sticks.

Spamming chirper with our signings, Using the PA announcer at home games to hype the crowd about recent transactions or maybe using arena members wearing double sided signs as as fans enter the building

The Tampa Bay Barracuda doesn't do anything special, they do the usual when a new player is signed; just some posts on twitter or something. They like to welcome people in, however, they know players privacy and their wants.

Honestly, our announcements are pretty boring, and that's the way I like it. It's once the signings are done that the real magic can start, and we bring the rookies into the LR and introduce them to their teammates, mentors, coaches, and everything else that comes with being a part of QCC.

One unique thing we could do to announce signings is literally bring in the announcement via steelhawk, fictional or not fictional. We have them bring the scroll and they post it on the boards themselves. Truly old-school

Every time the team has to announce a hiring they must have that person walk out with a Panther on a leash. When they announce a firing, they throw a picture of that person tied to a bunch of meat into a den with panthers and watch it get torn to shreds.

We could probably put the names to announce on little letters and attach them to a tree and then people can harvest them from that tree to read them. If that makes no sense to you, don't ask.

I had been kicking around announcing signings for Buffalo as like a twitch stream or discord radio type show, like most cities do for their teams. How bae would it be to have Brian from North Buffalo call in to bitch about us not re-signing someone?
