But you could argue the Leafs have a much better supporting cast as the Jets have been in a slow rebuild. You can't really blame Pavalec for them not getting to the playoffs anymore than you can blame say Kipprusoff for not getting the Flames to the playoffs
The Jets have been in a slow rebuild? Have you seen our team? It hasn't been fast either...

We were the 5th worst team in the league last season with an injured Reimer, enter healthy Reimer and we finish 5th in the East. No Reimer, no playoffs, I'm not saying Pavelec is not a good goalie but it is clear as day that Reimer is the better goalie right this minute.

Umm I didn't say it has been fast? I said you can't blame Pavelec for not getting the Jets to the playoffs, the Leafs roster is >>> than the Jets roster from top to bottom imo

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Reimer's definitely playing better but I don't think he's that much better of a goalie and until I see him for a full 82 game season I personally don't see him as a legitimate star goaltender.

Pavelec is not a star goalie either, if that's what you're implying...

I don't think Reimer is a star goalie either, I would call him an above average starter in the NHL while I would say right now Pavelec is just a average starter, now obviously they are both young and have lots of room to improve so that could change for both of them.

Not implying that at all. I would say they're pretty even though, As Secord said more of an average or above average. Right now Above Average for Reimer and Average for Pavelec but I think they're pretty even myself mainly because Pavelec has played a full season

Vokoun has the nod in net.

Pens lines from the Morning skate

Dupuis-Crosby-Iginla
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Adams-Vitale-Kennedy
Glass-Jokinen-Bennett

Orpik-Martin
Letang-Niskanen
Engelland-Murray
Eaton-Despres

thank god no more Murray - Niskanen. Niskanen couldn't hold on to the puck and gave it away like it was nothing, while Murray was too fucking slow to compensate for the shitty play that came from Niskanen.

I really like Letang-Niskanen, it's one of the better pairings, IMO.

Engelland-Murray is intriguing, old school bruising, but I'm iffy about their ability to clear the puck.

Ya. I think Letang's skating ability will help compensate for Niskanen. I would prefer having Eaton - Murray because I feel like Eaton is a better puck mover.

Fuck that lineup is good.

Heres to hoping for poor Penguin goaltending

I'd really rather have Bennett or Jokinen in tonight > Adams, but Bylsma isn't going to bench his favorite player.

Pens could really use a little extra offense to cover for Malkins injury, and Jokinen could slot up with Kunitz/Neal for some shifts, and Bennett would just give some great speed.
