Most Canadians aren't sarcastic when it comes to this though. People honestly believe there is some kind of American bias.

I wasn't serious, although they have been worse than normal this year. The NHL has the worst reffing (other than the Basketball scandal a few years back) in the big sports.

Gary Bettman litterly stated when he took over the NHL that he would grow hockey in America he pulled 2 teams out of Canada into even bigger failing markets. And refuses to move teams that are costing him millions because he loves America lol.but ya no your right Bettman loves Canada.

There is no American bias, there is buisness bias.

The love of Hockey already exists in Canada, and you aren't going to increase profit margins by putting another team in Ontario, at least not as much as you could by opening an entirely new market and trying to expand it even more.

While, so far, a couple teams in the south haven't done so hot, it's too early to give up on their existence from a buisness perspective.

Nfls refs were neutral this past season, even after we got rid of the replacement refs
