Krever calls press conference

Holding a press conference to talk about several things, including the final version of the trade with West Kendall, our season up to this point in time, accusations of rigging, and the departure of Hogan and Maxfield to start another league.
First, I am very happy to acquire a player such as Jabir. We needed another offensive defenseman and we were playing with a group of five guys on the back-end this season. Now we get a chance to provide some relief for Maxfield and Onoprienko who have been a little bit overloaded with minutes. Meanwhile, Jabir's offensive abilities will help bolster a power play that is already among the best units in the league. We will miss Greg Dufour as he was an important part of our locker room. This season he took a step forward with our organization as an alternate captain, but things weren't working out. With the signing of Turkkonen and the return of Abdalla from suspension, he was dropped to our fourth line. I would like to thank him for his time here with the Toronto North Stars, Greg you've been a great player and an even better off-ice character for us, and we wish you luck with a new role and a fresh start with a class organization. Now, I'm very disappointed to have to address this issue and I know that some people talked about this topic as a joke, but to us it is not a joke. The "rigging" issue is childish, and I believe that those accusing the simmer of rigging are struggling to come to terms with the fact that we are a great hockey team, and we have a tremendous group of players here in Toronto. I think a lot of people knew that coming in and when you look at this team on paper coming into the season, there was a very strong possibility that we would be a dominant team. I had full confidence in this group and the fact that a select group of members resorts to accusing people of rigging shows that it's a hard pill to swallow, and that people are bitter. My advice is to focus on other things because you look desperate and upset. Our organization did not accuse past simmers of rigging, when Platoon, Comets, and Panthers all won championships while having the simmer on their roster. Now on to Maxfield and Hogan. I haven't made an official statement regarding their departure, but I would like to say that while I respect anyone's decision to leave at any time for their own interests, I feel that Hogan and Maxfield have, in one sense, betrayed the league. They have betrayed all of the original administrators that put so much dedication into the league, including myself, Fernando, Littleton, MacDonald, and several others. They have given up on our league during difficult times, taking the easy way out and to make matters worse, trying to make a laegue of their own so they could do things their own way. They each had a lot of pull here, and we are a league in its seventh season with a lot of time and hard work invested by honest members. They could have easily focused their energy on improving this league, but they backed out. That said, I understand that the reason they left was because they were unfairly targeted, and I can respect that decision in that sense. Although I feel that they have betrayed this league, I ask everyone to please respect their decision to leave, and to avoid insulting them. They do both come online to see how we're diong and they've done a lot for the league. We owe it to them to avoid trying to hurt them, so please keep the insults out of sigs, posts, names etc. I would like to thank both of them for all they've contributed and wish them the best of luck with their new league. Any questions on any of this, or on anything I"ve missed, are definitely welcome. ![]() Registered Posting Freak
Yeah its getting ridiculous that we have that rigging issue every year.
But the coincidence of the simmer having by far the best record team every year is getting even more ridiculous. ![]() Registered Posting Freak

Actually your team did attack me quite a bit last year. But I mean I totally deserved it since I made the panthers record by far the best compared to everyone else. I'm a bastard like that.
![]() But I know Abdalla isn't rigging.. But it would have been nice to reset the morale. Doesn't really matter anymore anyways Jay is simming ![]() ![]() Registered bae Quote:Originally posted by Munk@Feb 18 2012, 07:20 PM Hey, Maybe We'll start winning now    ![]() Made by Rindiee, rum_ham & Carpy Jacob Mueller S5-S Julien Dupont S6-S13 S9 Challenge Cup - Calgary Dragons IIHF Gold - Germany Rufus Reinhart S13-S24 S14 Challenge Cup - Texas Renegades Christoffer Björnsson - S25-S35 S25 Four Stars Cup S26 Tom Corcoran Trophy - SMJHL Top Goalie Sami Owens - S36-S52 S38 IIHF Bronze - Canada S39 IIHF Gold - Canada S42 IIHF Silver - Canada S51 Challenge Cup Champion - HAM Liam Slate - S54-Present S53 WJC Bronze - British Isles S54 WJC Silver - British Isles S55 Four Star Cup Champion - Newfoundland Berserkers S57 IIHF Silver - Great Britain S58 IIHF Silver - Great Britain S60 IIHF Silver - Great Britain S61 IIIHF Gold - Great Britain S67 Challenge Cup Champion - Seattle Argonauts S68 Challenge Cup Champion - Seattle Argonauts Triple Gold Club Sad Ketchup -Present S76 Ryan Jesster Trophy Winner ![]() Registered Posting Freak Quote:Originally posted by Tylar@Feb 18 2012, 06:25 PM And then I can sim the playoffs, where the rigging really matters!
