Vanek to NYI

I like this move. I think Vanek is an elite player stuck with nothing in Buffalo and will tear it up alongside JT
Should make the PP more dangerous too, not sure who plays the points but Vanek does it in Buffalo I do believe. Vanek is also a right shot you can have on the other side of the ice to Tavares' left shot which should make goalies cringe.

Ouch,

How is it short sighted?

Vanek takes isles to 2nd round, leaves and NYI is without JT's buddy and a number 1lw

If they win the cup n he leaves then it's good. Other than that he needs to resign for it to be good

Both are UFAs, depends on re-signings and who is drafted. It might take a a few years to see who won this trade. Maybe Vanek clicks with JT and goes on a tear, or maybe he doesn't. Both teams got what they wanted.

For what it's worth, Vanek played almost exclusively in front of the net on our power player, guy is great at deflecting pucks and scoring garbage goals. I guess he is pretty much like Molson in that regard, just with better all around ability :D.

And the ability to launch 50goals into the net lol Vaneks an 80-90 point player Molsons a 50-60.

Honestly like i said its a white wash Vaneks the best player but even though the first will be a middle of the pack it can become something good

You think an FA is more likely to sign in NYR if they miss playoffs or NYI if they make it? Trade Deadline roles around and all of a sudden a player with a Limited NTC puts NYI on their list instead of New Jersey or Buffalo. Competitive teams are more favourable destinations for players throughout the league.
