S16 SHL DRAFT RANKINGS

by Drum Bongwater

The KFAN Scouting Team has been keeping a sharp eye on the league all season long. Based on the hard work and improvements the following players have achieved this year, we have compiled our projections for the top 2 rounds.

Keep in mind this is just in categories - within each category the names are not listed in any specific projected order, just that the first 6 players listed are almost locks to be selected in the first round, and so on. I'm not ready to give away my entire mock draft just yet!

Also, it doesn't take into account team needs or prior GM relationships which may affect the draft order.

** TOP 6 **

Jarkko Kallestrom - RW - STL (22G, 24A, 46pts)
Bradley Wingels - RW - STL (18G, 28A, 46pts)
Tom Sawyer - RW - VAN (18G 26A, 44pts)
Slava Boominen - LW - VAN (15G, 23A, 38pts)
Maxim Horvat - C - KEL (12G, 21A, 33pts)
Azriel Stryfe - D -PGF (4G, 17A, 21pts)

** LIKELY FIRST ROUND / POSSIBLE SECOND ROUND **

Niklas Stryker - D - VAN (9G, 18A, 27pts)
Quentyn Blackfyre - D - KEL (2G, 23A, 25pts)
Snowden Manning - LW - KEL (13G, 10A, 23pts)
Craig Iginla - RW - PGF (13G, 11A, 24pts)
Janis Vitols - D - DET (8G, 19A, 27pts)
Joshua Toevs - C - MTL (8G, 13A, 21pts)

** POSSIBLE FIRST ROUND / LIKELY SECOND ROUND **

Dustin Rose - G - PGF (W/L 14-23-2, SV% .902, GAA 3.10)
Ryan Raycroft - D - STL (7G, 24A, 31pts)
Issa Khan Jr - LW - MTL (3G, 4A, 7pts)
Sterling Slade - G - KEL (W/L 15-19-3, SV% .911, GAA 3.08)
Yechiel Ben-Tzion - D - PGF (3G, 10A, 13pts)
Peter Parker - D - DET (4G, 16A, 20pts)

** PROBABLE SECOND ROUND **

Peter Vayne - G - DET (W/L 23-13-3, SV% .903, GAA 3.03)
Brooklyn Carter - RW - DET (13G, 9A, 22pts)
Robert Birkavs - C - DET (7G, 19A, 26pts)
Alexandre Daigle - C - PGF (3G, 8A, 11pts)
Mattias Viianen - RW - KEL (2G, 5A, 7pts)
Ryan Spearing - D - KEL (3G, 15A, 18pts)

Based on playoff performance, and how the players do in the pre-draft combine and interview process, this order could very well change. However, up until this point, these are the players most likely to be catching the scouts' and GMs' attention in the first 2 stages of the draft.

What happens with these players who are already GMs? Do they automatically go to their teams, or do they have to use a draft pick on themselves?

Head GMs go automatically, Co-GM's cost a 2nd rounder

I think I might be too risky of a pick tbh, but we'll see.
Play-off time is when teams start to talk to draftees usually.

What's thw risk would a GM rather pick am inactive all year or a guy who can even update one or 2 times. First and seconds may not be used on you but I doubt you fall past the 3rd. Atleast ull have more TPE than any of them lol

Kallestrom and win gels best prospects NA

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”
