Nice retort, you really showed me how being the best at using a broom to slow down a stone is helping the world out.
how is the NFL helping the world out? How about the NHL? How about the NBA? How does sports in general make the world a better place? They inspire.
Being from Florida, you have never experienced this. Skating on your backyard rink that you and your dad spent months working on. "Here comes Sidney Crosby, skating down the wing, he shoots, he scores!!!! THE GOLDEN GOAL!!!!"
I remember countless nights, mimicking our favorite athletes. Instead of doing drugs, getting into trouble, or joining gangs, we were mimicking our role models. That is how sports make the world a better place.

I just don't see it as a sport, same way I don't see Shuffleboard or Darts as a sport, it obviously takes a specific set of skills but I just don't see it as a sport.
Well running shouldnt be a sport than. I mean they just run straight anyone can do that.

I'm from Massachusetts so I have been to outdoor rinks before  I don't think the NFL or NHL or NBA help the world out, but I also wouldn't consider any of those inspiring as a patriotic act.
Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

you asked how it made the world a better place, not if it was a patriotic act. But we have already answered that many times.

I don't really consider running a sport either
I don't think of something as a sport just because it requires physical activity or physical movement. It requires more of a head to head deal. But that's just the way I see it so I'll bow out of this portion of it because I know it's not the widely accepted definition
Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

You said it was patriotic to see someone win a gold medal and raise their country's flag. I just don't see that as being patriotic. I don't consider any sport patriotic at all.
Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

They're head to head but I meant competing as in physically trying to stop another person from winning. Not doing the same thing they're doing but better.
