Has easily become my favourite song by The Front Bottoms. On their new EP "Rose"

AND Just so everyone's aware, I listened to Bleachers debut album (a band I have followed since day 1), and it is everything I wanted it to be <3

HOLY SHIT DUDE.

Let me set a scene for you.

Friend calls. He's got an extra ticket to Say Anything at the Firebird that night. We have to go now. I tag along, because Say Anything rocks.

We speed to the show, get there earlier than expected (StL was about 3 hours away from my undergrad). I take a moment outside the club (It's a shithole, really. But the best venues are, IMO). I start to light up, and I hear these dudes playing inside. The opener. The entire club is screaming the lyrics back, and I decide that my smoke can wait.

There are about 25 people huddled around the stage that's maybe a foot above the floor. The Front Bottoms were half a song into their set. Some people are spread out, but this is a tiny bar. I just stood there and took it in. Everything I wanted in a band, that's who they were. Once they played "Mountain", I was hooked. I bought their CD and listened to it all the way home. (Say Anything was great, btw).

The Front Bottoms were on repeat for months. I knew every word.

Fast forward. Bamboozle 2012. Same friend, another dude and I drove the 17 hours to Asbury Park to see the show, as the Bamboozle yearly drive was becoming a staple (This would be our last time, as it was the last true Bamboozle). We watch the Foo play their set, but we have to hurry. Brand New is playing a secret show at the Stone Pony. No advance tickets, FCFS and we hear the line is getting long.

We run to the venue and take our place in line. We're still on the side of the building, right next to the door behind the stage. We've been waiting for about an hour, and I start hearing the band inside warm up. I hear the hi hats going nuts, then the keyboard kicks in.

ITS THE MOTHA FUCKIN FRONT BOTTOMS OPENING FOR BRAND NEW.

I lost it. I got into the club while they were singing Maps. From then on I screamed every lyric. The entire club did.

The Front Bottoms holds a really fucking magical place in my heart. Their music is just... goddamn it's amazing. I've seen them a few more times, usually in Chicago at Beat Kitchen and I think the Sub. They open for MCS, so it's not hard to get friends to go. I just love the Front Bottoms, and I've only run into one or two other people who had heard of them.

BTW, I came here in the first place to plug this band. Saw them at the Beat Kitchen a week or so ago but didn't know what they were called Tracks 1 and 3 off their latest are the best, and it's name your own price (so, free) on BandCamp right now.

I used to listen to Underoath all the time. They're Only Chasing Safety is still in my Top 10 albums.

I cant believe people sleep on Lil B on this site.... I swear every song he makes is a true inspiration filled with positive thoughts and a strong message behind it.

Don't know if anyone here is a Foxygen fan, but "We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors..." was a top 5 album for me last year, and they are releasing another album this year called "...And Star Power" and I'm so stoked for it

They released this single yesterday, and I love it

They are at the top of my bucket list to see live, but I've only seen them around Vancouver once, and that was a 19+ concert, so I'm still about a year away from that

I don't remember how I came across them, but I heard a song from their Self-Titled in early 2012 and I fell in love with the band. "Talon of the Hawk" was my favourite album last year along with Hollerado's "White Paint"

Thought I'd do some music I haven't heard in a while tonight while doing homework and updates. At the moment: Stevie Mofuggin' Wonder -- Superstition. Prior to that, some House of Pain, preceded by Deadmau5. Up next...I dunno, feeling some Tiesto.
