This western conference rivalry begins with Regina striking first as Winchester scores on the power play. Leonidas answers a little over 5 minutes later on a Kelowna power play. Leonidas scores another 2 minutes later to give the Knights the lead. Boudreau adds another for the Knights shortly after. Deacon Douglas cuts the lead to 1 before the period ends.

Regina tie it up early in the second off a Steinsteiger goal. Danny Phantom gives Kelowna back the lead on a short handed goal. The second period was all Kelowna as they outshot Regina 11-4.

Csonka scored early in the third before Tanner Carter scored his first of the year. McGraw gets one back for the Force but the Knights close it out as Nsenga pots another one for Kelowna.

Barney Tuzis scores first for Detroit as the Falcons take the lead. Zach Morgan adds another for insurance as Detroit pull away. Galchenyuk puts Vancouver on the board late in the first and brings it back to a one goal game. Detroit out shot Vancouver 16-7 in the first.

Detroit came out on top of the second period as well as Tucker O'Callahan scores mid way through the period.

Smulans makes it back into a one goal game early in the third and the Whalers make a push. The Falcons answer immediately as Fischer scores his own 12 seconds later. Drew Myers puts home his first but it's not enough as Detroit hang on to win it.
