Vancouver Whalers vs Montreal Impact :impact:

Neither team was able to score in the first period as Montreal had 8 shots on goal while Vancouver could only muster 4. Both teams took two penalties in the period.

The Whalers would score a power play goal just about 90 seconds into the second period as Robinson scored his second of the season for a 1-0 lead. Montreal would receive their own power play chance later in the period and would cash in to tie the game at 1-1 off of the stick of Ziepins, his first of the season. Vancouver would outshoot Montreal 15 to 10 in the period.

The Impact would take a 2-1 lead just over four minutes into the third period as O’Ferghall scored his first of the season. Vancouver would tie the game at 2-2 exactly nine minutes later as Robinson scored his second of the game and 3rd of the season. However, with just 26 seconds left in the game, Neeson sent the crowd home happy with the game winning goal and his 2nd of the season for a 3-2 Montreal win. Montreal had 11 shots on goal in the period compared to 6 for Vancouver and outshot the Whalers 29 to 25 in the game.

Karlensons picked up his second win of the season in goal with 23 saves while Beatley took the loss to even his record at 3-3.



St. Louis Scarecrows vs Regina Force :force:

The Force came out in the first period and totally dominated the Scarecrows in terms of shots, 12 to 2, and in goals, 2 to 0. Scoring for the Force were Boychuk and Ginter, both with their 3rd goals of the seaosn.

Even though Regina once again outshot the Scarecrows, 10 to 9 this time, it was St Louis who scored both goals in the period as Linkos netted both of them. It was his 4th and 5th goals of the season. His second goal was on the power play.

In the third period, St Louis would take a penalty shortly after the eight minute mark of the period and just 22 seconds later, McGraw would take a feed from Esposito and beat the goalie for his 4th goal of the season. It would also turn out to be the game winning goal as Regina hung on for a 3-2 home win. St Louis fired 19 shots on goal in the third while Regina had 16, but Regina had 38 for the game while St Louis had 30.

Kozar made 28 saves for Regina in earning his first win of the season while Jackson took the loss with a 35 save performance.



Detroit Falcons vs Kelowna Knights

Detroit and Kelowna would skate to a 0-0 draw after the first period even though the Falcons had three power play chances and 13 shots on goal compared to just one power play chance for the Knights and 6 shots on goal.

Benson would get the Knights on the scoreboard first with his first goal of the season just over two minutes into the second period. Later in the period, Whooves would score for the Knights to push their lead to 2-0 with his 5th of the season. However, Detroit would answer with just over two minutes left in the second as Nuck netted his 2nd of the season to make it 2-1 going into the third period. Kelowna outshot Detroit 9 to 7 in the period.

It was a tight checking, low shooting third period as the teams combined for only 11 shots – 8 by Detroit and 3 by Kelowna. The Knights looked to have the game won, but with just 28 seconds left in the game, Johnson fed Parker who took a shot and tied the game with his 3rd of the season. Neither team could score in overtime as Detroit had two shots and Kelowna had one. Its off to the shootout!

Demko gets the win in goal by making 17 saves on 19 shots. It was his 4th win of the season. Harter takes the loss in goal even though he stopped 28 out of 30 shots.
