I'm still particularly attached to my suggestion.

When players hit early regression, cap how high non-strength stats can sit at (be immediate or through eventually aggressive TPE regression) and slowly scale the player back as they progress through the twilight of their career; eventually players getting to a point where they could have a depth player (let's say 85's across the board with 99's in their strengths, still a good player, but not an elite; second or third line player who needs to rely on the strengths of their initial player design to be entirely special) who is serviceable, but clearly no longer in their prime.

That and whomever suggested an incentive for old players to recreate has an interesting idea.
