With the first season over, even with the playoffs just around the corner, I can start to look back and reflect on everything that happened this year.

One thing I’d like to say before I get into the details, is that I feel like I failed the team a little this season with my effort. I didn’t produce, and did poorly in most situations. I tried to make up for it by being funny and at least likeable so that the rest of the team would put up with my garbage. Now that the playoffs are here, I’ve gotta try my hardest and put all the effort in that I possibly can. I’m coming off a 3 point game, the best of my short career, but I can’t get cocky.

I was a late round pick and didn’t know what to expect. I was thrown into possibly the best rookie group in the league. Jon Lundberg is a guy that I would probably compare myself the most to, the only difference is that no matter what happens, that guy is going to be a stud. Plus if you want to watch Pulp Fiction with someone, give him a call. Maria has been really helpful all year, nothing gets handed to her, she earns every bit of the credit she gets. Nik is a solid hobbit loving talent. That guy is seriously underrated. I can’t forget Ivan, who after a season of being in the same locker room as him, I still can’t understand a thing he says. But he racks up the points, so I love him anyway. Gonna leave out some people, but they know who they are.

I also want to thank Randy Randleman for being the best captain I could have asked for. Whenever I was bummed out about anything he’d be able to make it all seem like it was going to be okay. Plus he’s really good at hockey and only likes good movies. Once he moves on and leaves us to suffer, I’m gonna miss him.

I started out on the third line, but didn’t perform well and didn’t improve my play to the point where I deserved to keep my spot, so I was put on the fourth line. I played exactly like how you’d imagine an underperforming rookie on the 4th line to play. I threw a whole lot of hits, which is something I’m happy about. I ended up with the second most hits out of the forwards on the team. I chipped in pretty rarely, ending up with 11 points thanks to a lucky stretch at the end of the year.

I think my most memorable moment besides the last game, was when I threw a hit that resulted in monster scrum that had a couple fights. I guess if I wasn’t gonna score I had to disturb a little shit.

I may have had a pretty disappointing rookie season, but we’ve got the playoffs ahead of us, and now I’m driven to improve next year. So watch out for the awesome, gritty antics of Tony Flow and Jon Lundberg next year.
