My rookie season has been a ride.....Going from a free agent with high hopes to ending off a great season with a great team and some high expectations met. At the start I was given the opportunity to come in as a quiet rookie named Devon Mack for the Impact. Now I'm probably one of the loudest in the dressing room. I've been given great wisdom and have been keeping up with the media on my adventure this season.

Montreal talked to me the day I messaged all the GM's in the SMJHL. I got offered with the Scarecrows and Knights. I decided to go with the Impact. It was a decision I had to take as a 18 year old moving away to a french city and it's tough. Luckily I know small amounts of french to buy myself a slice or two of pizza. I loved the guys and their funny and uplifting attitudes. I've honestly seen a lot of improvement in my approach to how the game of hockey works and outside of it too. I'm more appreciative of how I got here because of these guys. Hands down the best season a rookie like me could ask for.

This season was about trying to play a role where I could show people that I could be more then just a player. I wanted to play a big role in Montreal's season. I've been told I have been contributing and that I've been a dominating force in the defensive aspects of the game. My goals were already set and Montreal was by me when I needed help, i'm very thankful.

I've been keeping in good shape, always pushing myself. I want to be the best and I think I can be. Soon I will be able to become a big threat in the SHL and show all the teams that passed up on me on what they're missing. My season has always been a great one. My numbers have been declining recently. But i've been helping so far on the second line for the playoff push. I want Montreal to bring a cup home, it's so over do. Montreal has the guys to win. Buster Killington, Evandrus Jesster, Earnest Cirelli, Lord Pretty Flacko and so much others.

So my season was a success. I killed it as hard as I could. No regrets, I feel like I will be back in Montreal next season, but there will be a cup in Montreal next year for sure! I can only hope as the days go by that I will be in Montreal and in another city playing for the SHL. For right now at least i'm happy in the SMJHL and in Montreal. So in conclusion my rookie season has been a season of dreams and great experiences, I've got to meet Russian's and Slovakian's. Tour around North America, it's a dream come true for me. Watch out SHL and playoffs. Because here comes Devon Mack.
