After a tough start Falcons have started to pick their game up. Winning the last 2 games with total of 8 goals compared to only allowing 1, their heads are high and smiles wide. Improvements have been made up and down the lineup, including the one that has let in only 1 goal in the last 2 games. Evgueni Marmeladov after a disappointing 6-7-2 start his level of play has drastically increased. You could see a more confident goaltender that has been challenging shooters and containing the rebounds. In the first game against Prince George Firebirds, Marmeladov would record his first ever SMJHL shutout (stopping all 28 shots), while Chris Smulander would put up a hattrick in a 6 to nothing game to ensure the victory. Definitely all cheers in the locker room as both Smulander and Marmeladov were treated as heroes. In the second game against the Firebirds, the game was much tighter and needing to go to overtime. There Dean Youngblood would seal the deal, while Marmeladov let in 1 goal on 30 shots. The young netminder now sits with a .898 Sv% and a 2.53 GAA.
