Task #1

Killer's Top 5 Goons

1. Arthur Dayne, PGF - Seriously man, 6 games and the guy got into a fight. In an elimination game. Not the smartest move I've ever seen. He didn't even win, either.

2. Hermanis Villy, STL - How in the world do you manage 20 PIM in only 7 games? That's 10 minor penalties, most of them undisciplined slashes, crosschecks, and high sticks! Losing Game 7 probably didn't help him get any less aggressive, either.

3. Oliver Klozoff, MTL - A fight in a deciding Game 7? That's ballsy. However, you also managed 12 more PIM through your goonish behavior. I don't think you won your fight either.

4. Shoyu Kikkoman, VAN - First round bye, and you respond to that by picking up at least one minor per game, usually for high sticking or roughing. What is wrong with you?

5. Colton Hagan, COL - Yeah, cheating by putting myself on here, but 48 Hits in 17 games, and 20 PIMs? Actually not that bad, really, but took a lot of hooking penalties.

Task #2

Colton Hagan - A Season in Review

It was one heck of a season, to be sure. Starting out on a team that struggled, then started to find our stride, only to be traded to a first place team that started to struggle down the stretch, nearly missing the playoffs. Then making a run to the Four Star Cup Final, through the team that traded me, Prince George, then through the first seeded St. Louis Scarecrows, only to be swept by the second place Vancouver Whalers. It was definitely one of ups and downs. I feel like I personally started off quickly, getting some action on the power play and some even strength points to complement it. I laid down hits. Then I hit a slump, and so did my team at the time, Prince George. I asked for a trade out of the struggling team for a few reasons. I got sent to Colorado, the Mile High City. After a few games to settle in, I broke out in a big way, more than doubling what I had done in Prince George down the stretch. And then we made the playoffs, and we fought like hell, all the way to a Finals appearance, but just couldn't get it done in the end.

Task #4

Finn Kruger, top defenseman for the Colorado Mammoths, is most deserving of the playoff MVP. I had him winning the regular season MVP as well, and his play in the playoffs continued to support that. He had 14 points in 17 games played, 17 blocked shots, and a respectable 16 hits. The point totals are the real whopper, considering that he is a defenseman, yet he was a league leader in scoring. Adding to it all of his blocks, on top of his monster work on the power play and penalty kill for the Mammoths, and he is a strong candidate for playoff MVP. His ability to eat minutes for Colorado - averaging about 24 minutes played per game. On the power play, he had 5 points for the Mammoths, and a further point shorthanded. His work at both even strength and on special teams is really incredible, and it was a driving factor in the Mammoths making the Final.
